I think for now it's not too big, but I believe that it will grow and maybe until 80% or more. I'm afraid of that, because it also can make more SCAM Bounty Campaign and finally earning money in ICO just myth.

Of the approximately 200 bounty companies I've been involved in, only a few can be called scams. They were created for the purpose of deception. The rest were in various degrees successful, but scams, I would not call them.

Now a lot of scam projects, but not more than 30%.  And if you spend time, you can find good and promising projects.

The author doesn't suggest that it's 80% fail. They are saying that 80% never intend to build a product in the first time.

That means 20% of ICOs actually try.

So for every 100 ICOs, 20 of them attempt to build a product. If 10% of them have any success, that's 2 companies for a 2% success rate.

In Silicon Valley, even if only 10% succeed, you're still getting 10 good companies out of 100.

On the one hand, this is a sad statistics, on the other hand I see that fraudulent projects are now collecting very little money. Investors have become more intelligent and cautious, so gradually the market gets rid of scammers.

This figure of fraudulent ICO projects is too exaggerated. I think that in fact they are from a third to a half. However, of course, and this is enough,
to say that there is a problem in ICO and this problem is very big. The activities of the ICO should be urgently regulated. Without regulation, the popularity of ICO projects will continue to fall. Already there was information that the drafting of documents on the regulation of ICO work in France, Japan, China, Russia. I think that soon such regulation will be massive and the period of fraud in it will finally end.

These scam ICOs are becoming too much in the system rendering crypto investment unattractive these days. I hope the introduction of KYC will be of help to reduce this

I think the scam projects are about 40%.  And somewhere around 30% are projects that did not get the soft cap.  And only 30% of successful projects.

It is perfectly normal for any new innovative systems. In fact 5% - 8% ICO success is a very good number for new startups in comparison to old schools IPOs.

Nothing to do here, Crypto market is filling with lots of scammers. We need to do something to prevent those shitty scammers. Most of the crypto projects are hacked, some good projects have gone after listing in one exchange. Many ICO Projects are pausing now, and many ICO Projects are being failed. But about scammers, we need to something make together to prevent those scammers. ICO Project's reputation are going to end. If this continues then after one or to years, people will forget to invest in ICO.

So we just have to find the other 20%, sounds easy Cheesy Anyways, it may be true, I personaly see a lot of ICO-s failing after the crowdsale too, but luckily, I only invested in one scam project yet, and it was the beginning of my crypto "carreer", so hope it will not happen again, now that I can better judge.

Yes I also agree with that we need to choose the remaining twenty percent for our investment but it is not easy we can spend more time to find that it is the only thing that good for you .

Now the scammers are becoming much more and it's certainly upsetting . This makes it difficult for us to choose . We have to lose a lot of time in search of worthy projects .

Well, why only 80%? I think that around 90-95 percent are real scammers. It is a real talent to be able to choose a good project among so many scammers. And it seems to me that it is possible to get this talent only together with the investment experience.

Most ICOs are indeed scams. This is why we all should be aware of the ICO we are joining. Make a research first. Try to check the ICO's team/developer and its rating in websites like icobench or icorating. I usually join ICOs handled by trusted managers. This helps lessen the risk.
