I still have the $15 donation ( I think it was $15 ).

I know who donated it as well.

I am willing to pass along the $15 donation to any developer looking to take over.

Nice FUD bro,

MasterTrader777

EDIT: It was $15 at the time, but is currently valued at $13.

https://blockchain.info/tx/0ae1dfa304d249b2e1e1d16c362c3609e1fa9a09796c34598d3c6ac67aad3a5a

Community should let me know where to transfer this, or who the dev is as I'm ready to send it off to whoever in charge.

FUD? So you you need a special call to reminder? You have received those coins to spend them on certain way. Why you have not spent them as you claimed and now you change independently their assignment?
Finally, why have you transferred them? Public donation address is not your private one.

You are so funny man.

Like I said, whoever wishes to take over the $15 donation I got 3+ months ago please PM me.

For the record I did actually start doing the community takeover, and doing fun contest while promoting...but you came along and said you would do everything for free...so I backed off the pedal, and let you crash the car you told everyone you'd drive.

Also I have been talking to Tinkles in PM.

Gave Tinkles the whole run down about everything, and we are talking about how to get the games in wallet and about past ideas I had back in the day.

Tinkles also has some great ideas, so If I were to give the $15 donation to anyone...I think it would be Tinkles.

Tinkles - if you wish to take over this donation, please post your BTC address here on the thread.

Look forward to speaking with you more.

Cheers,

MasterTrader777

Great ideas! Like the way this is going! Sounds like some of the ideas I was looking to pursue with this, it has legs so I'd be willing to provide the resources to make this happen...if you guys can't find them elsewhere.

Cheers,

MasterTrader777

You should better explain what have you done with funds (small but it's not about amounts) you collected for promoting 8BIT. They have been transferred from your donation addresses.

The chief problem with adding masternodes is that everyone thinks they are cool but has no idea how to monetize them. I think the low range gaming idea is pretty good but you also have to consider certain aspects like

1) Are the games part of the packaging or do you want to provide a tool box for adding games(leaving it to each individual 8BitNode owner) ?
2) Can the games be multiplayer?
3) Do the owners maintain save games?

This has not even taken into account that you have to engineer a fair rewards system that is based off actual game progress/time played

And of course there is the all time irritation of blocktimes...games are a real time events and blocks are not, this means , you have to consider how to add data (time delayed) into a block/  create a side channel  with which to update the network on each player on each node's stats.

Interesting set of problems to overcome (this does not even touch on network latency and cryptography yet)

What is the eventual goal here? Niche gaming or mobile platform launch to reach the masses?

Just my opinion but I think a game API that let developers / players monetize games would be the way to go, instead of tightly-coupling 8BIT to any actual game.

For example, one way to monetize the masternodes could be to provide multiplayer services like:

8BIT Multi-player game API with betting

- using masternode network, 8BIT provides an API where multi-players can start a game and bet a fixed amount of 8BIT on the outcome of the game
- the bet stakes are held in escrow (locked within the masternode network) for the duration of the game and the game state is monitored (through client RPC calls)
- when the game ends, the player's clients upload the result, and if there is consensus, the winner receives all the stakes, else the stakes are returned (e.g someone tries to hack the result).
- any game can use the service as long as the client uses the correct API

So, for players, it means they could bet/earn 8BIT by playing against other players

For developers, they get a secure payment system to monetize games for players (and a % cut of the winnings could go to the app developer), and we would provide a client-SDK (like example projects in Unity/Unreal engine etc which most mobile / desktop games are made in now)

Another idea could be to run multiplayer-host service API for games, with the backend monetized / powered by the masternodes - similar to something like Tsharen https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l3H45JXJShY for developers to integrate to get multiplayer server functionality.

These might be a lot of work, but do you think they are feasible to implement on the coin side?

EDIT: I don't think the 8BIT brand has to be targeted at retro games either, because retro game-branding has broad recognition, and 8BIT is a good name for a game currency for all gamers I think.

I'm sorry i cannot report it.

I think it is  funny how he trying to be still here.

Btw mastertrader how did your investment go in axiom? You bought in at 17K instead of 7K at C-cex?

I think you should really change your name to couchpotato2.0

One of the most addicting simple games I have ever played was called Pheonix.

I used to play it on my graphing calculator in middle school...

It was a galaga style game, but you could use your earnings after each round to buy upgrades for your spaceship.

1) I've always envisioned a mixture of both.  A toolbox for adding and hosting games, as well as the ability to develop and host simple games would be epic.

2) I'm not sure about multiplayer, but it would be cool to compete and bet with other players for high scores in a side by side fashion.

3) I'd say yes

I think a mobile platform launch to reach the masses would be the end game here.

Maybe develop a website where users use 8bit like quarters almost.  They don't even have to realize they are using blockchain tech.

Bingo, now you are thinking big league.

The idea is very interesting and i would like to see how this goes, because eventually, for high powered nodes and connections you could have slightly more intensive games like casino types, such a system would garner a hell of a lot of interest from gamblers. You could potentially copyright and sell the rights to online casinos.

Basically, the node already has the casino game but then using network messages, it then displays real-time info...

Hell, after BCR this could be the only other coin with a sound use for this type of setup.

Suggestion of the first few games

PACMAN clone (for proof of concept)
1 or two low range games (easy to modify)

There are already blockchain lotteries, how about upping the stakes and having two tiers of lottery ?

Basically you have a network wide lottery and then each node with the MN requirement + a given minimum balance can host it's own lottery , which triggers a draw when certain conditions are met (maybe number of players or time lapse)

wow, this is actually a great idea, needs some tough coding though. maybe a team of two or three dedicated devs.

How can I get access to the coins currently in Stake ?

In the config I put staking=0 and restarted but that didn't move them back to spendable. Any help to better understand would be appreciated.

Thanks!

-soco

Hey soco.  Unfortunately, you'll have to wait this one out.  Disable staking as you have and wait.

The cat is out of the bag.

In case you guys did not know, CRAVE actually copied the version of masternode that BitcreditsCC developed for Bitcredit.

Bitcredit had block header syncing long before coins like DASH.

I strongly reccomend that you guys check out his coin.  Bitcredit utilizies technologies that are entirely unique and innovative in the crypto world.

And to BitcreditsCC, thank you for stopping by.  A man of your integrity and talent is rare in this world.  We welcome you with open arms.

I have an important announcement guys.

One of the most talented developers in crypto today is currently reviewing our codebase.  He has taken interest in the project and actually knows how to accomplish all of the goals we have had for 8bit, including gaming.

For the time being, he has asked me not to mention who he is, but he said it was ok to tell you guys that he is reviewing the codebase as we speak.

Buckle your seatbelts.

Sounds very interesting dbt1033.  There are a lot of donations from different supporters here for any dev who can get involved.
