Seeing as how even this forum is dead, this gives me little confidence. How is this coin at like .70 USD?

Well, all the info you need, could be found on the last 10-20 pages of this thread. Thats probably the reason you got not much replies. In short, the status is - "updating to new PIVX codebase, work in progress". Unfortunately, no ETA is available, I would also like one...

As for the price... Just a side note, probably irrelevant - it always amuses me when people are talking about price in USD.... To me it shows you are not belonging to crypto world, but just came here to speculate and make some $$. Crypto guys are talking BTC, not USD.

This project was originally allocated to mining some hands? The first time I heard about 8BIT

Not sure what you mean, but long time ago 8BIT was mineable (PoW). It transitioned to pure PoS several years ago.

Does someone know all the api information, to get us listed at http://masternodesjungle.com/ ?
It is free to get listed. It's meant to be done by the dev, but I've seen in other communities that anyone with the info has been able to get the coin added to the site.
Get the API info please and I will be implement it at block explorer. The implementation will be also used with the new release so it's not wasting time.

I have one wallet controlling multiple masternodes.
Can I use this wallet for staking as well or do I need a separate wallet for staking?

Do you use that wallet only for controlling masternodes (start/stop etc), or also for running them? In other words, do all your masternodes use a single (the same) datadir, and do you run just single instance of 8bitd daemon opening multiple TCP ports (one per MN)?

On the vps they have their own datadir. Up untill now the local wallets had their own datadir as well. As that uses too much resources I compiled a wallet that can control multiple masternodes from one wallet.
I have to see if it works as expected because I set it up yesterday for one wallet to test. Did not receive rewards yet. If it works I'm going to control the other wallets on the vps from the same local wallet

Ok, thanks for clearing this up! I was wondering if there is a way to run multiple masternodes using just a single hot wallet. I was trying to figure that out few years back and found it is impossible, so your previous message confused me a bit.

The setup you have now - multiple hot wallets for MN (with 0 coins sitting there), and a single cold wallet (with all the coins) controlling the MNs - is exactly what I was using back then - and it worked perfectly, so yours should work too if everything is correct.

You have to patch the client first so 112-inputs will be not collected for staking. I could write one, but I am focused on the new code base (which will eventually allow to stake on a masternode).

Then I will keep a separate one for staking and wait for the new wallet

I was able to compile the 8bitd. But then nothing works.... how to start the server correctly to sync. I tried to start it without params. Just hanging in the process-list. Tried to generate a wallet-address. Blinking cursor. The tutorial in the thread https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.25225323 helped, but what is the correct order... or just to wait. When i start the server it asks for a masternode key, but the command to generate one shows "error: couldn't connect to server". I really don't know what I'm doing wrong and appreciate any help.

Thanks in advance!

I had similar problems in the begging, but just give client time to load up, couple of minutes then try 8bitd -cli getinfo, check what block you at.

Do you have some experience with command-line clients (actually any bitcoin clone client) or shall we start from scratch?

Hi all... Where can I download the wallets from? The URL's in this thread and many other threads are pointing to a dropbox location that is not reachable.

Double digits posts on this. Please advise

This link might help you: http://8bitcoin.netspecto.com/download.php

However I would strongly advise to go Linux route: get the sources (https://github.com/8bit-dev/8bit) and compile it on your Linux box or VM. There was a great tutorial somewhere in the last 10 pages of this thread.
