For me, I will prefer buying and holding my Bitcoin for complete two circles (i.e 2 bear & bull market in 8 years). Because one that certain is that no matter how an individual tries to "buy for one circle, sell all during the bull run and wait for the next circle to buy again" or "buy and hod his BTC for one circle and sell 50% during bull run and leave 50% to continue in the next circle", he/she can never make same profit as someone who just buy and holds for complete 8yrs without selling.

Example:
We could all see that the price of Bitcoin 8yra ago (29th November 2016) was $736
And,
The price of Bitcoin now 8yrs after (29th November 2024) is currently value at $96,867
That is, a whooping 13,000% profit in 8yrs
Let's take into the simulation.

Imagine I have $736/1 Bitcoin in 2016, I sold 50% at $17K in 2017, now I have 0.5 Bitcoin and $8.5K, then I bought Bitcoin in 2019 at $4.25K/each, now I have 2.5 Bitcoin.

I sold 1.25 Bitcoin at $63K in 2021, now I have 1.25 Bitcoin and $78,750.

Then I bought Bitcoin at $16K/each in 2022, so I have 6.17 Bitcoin.

Now my money worth $584,250

I believe you will say "hey, that's because you're using a scenario to buy at the bottom and sell at the peak, we will never know the future". But, even though you not really correct to predict the bottom and the peak, trading will beat DCA!

Better strategy, buy and sell part what you need for your life awery month
Buy store, make profit out of the ones you stored, and when you see the right time to sell and take profit, sell part of it and hold others.

When good entry time presents itself, one buys again and reaccumulates, and if there is a need to cash out some cash and Bitcoin is the only place you have money, then sell some and solve pressing problems. Life goes on, and it's never going to end. There is plenty of time to either spend your holdings or accumulate more and add to it.

I have asked same question, not similar yet I got answers related to the question asked. I’m not yet an experience investor but I got few knowledge besides buying strategy is totally different from selling, I prefer holding for a circle then sell little fraction that’s suitable because it’s more easier starting another circle stable. For example it’s so hard building another high investment within a circle since bitcoin price keeps increasing, although there’s no practical example for detailed explanation. Like I have alway thought about standard when bitcoin investment is involved, the first strategy is also profitable whereby they hold for so long I guess it has to do with the level of patient needed.

It's actually a very good question and observation because if you look at most people don't even know when to buy and when to sell and I also love your sincerity and even those that are experience will continue to learn everyday because we keep discovering new things everyday. And one of the best thing about bitcoin and other cryptocurrency is that you can buy and sell infraction and most people have the mindset of holding for a very long time but it's in the mind but are they actually able to hold because some people don't even have another alternative so all they depend on is there bitcoin investment without any other source of getting money.

So having the mindset to hold for a long time then the same time the person have to be prepared with plans on how to invest and money to spend after investing. Because some peoples intrest have blinded them from making proper plans. And it's on support and eventually if it breaks it then it is definitely hitting 100k, and that is what people are expecting especially does that have been holding for a very long time, and one of the most difficult things to do is to hold but very productive if you can have patience to actually hold.

For now, the second option will be my choice. I chose it since my buying style is DCA. So, I would prefer to sell all my coins and use the proceeds to solve some pressing needs and establish some money-making ventures. With the profit from my business, my DCA buying strategy will continue until the next bull run.
It must be your start in investment, you must have reserved money for things in life like emergency, and you can not use all money for investment, and hope that your investment portfolio will grow in value. It's risky but I agree if you already bet all like this, when you have good profit from investment, let's resolve your emergent things first.

I disagree to use your profit for start up a business, because you can lose your money to that business, and it can be bankrupted too. I see no better business, even it unofficial, than Bitcoin. It's a money making machine for people who can invest in it, and hold it. Don't try new things, new challenge and lose all profit you got from Bitcoin investment, it's stupid.

With the profit from my business, my DCA buying strategy will continue until the next bull run. I might consider options one and three when my business is established, and I have enough funds to run my business and home without selling my Bitcoin hodling. But for now, I might not be able to set up some things without selling all.

Buying and holding for a cycle and then selling off about 59% after the cycle makes a lot of sense to me because you may never be able to buy at the price you bought before the second cycle so having that 59% remaining after the first cycle still keeps you at an advantage of having the early moves benefits but then if you are to start buying in the second cycle the price difference may be challenging, literally you can decide to just take profit after the first cycle and carry on with the second without depositing any new funds into your portfolio to buy the coin again.
If we invest, of course we want to enjoy the results of what we planted previously
Waiting for one cycle takes a long time, there is no harm in selling half of what we have from our investments to buy something much more useful, for example buying a plot of land or buying a simple house from the results of investing in bitcoin.

Are you sure enough that you only hold 50 percent of what you had before, don't you want to add it back if a downturn occurs? Indeed, literally we cannot get a cheaper price than the previous period, at least every time there is a downturn we go back in to increase our investment ammunition, and of course we will get the average price of the total price we have from investment.

I think the answer is how much totality we have in BTC, if we only want a little profit I think Option no 3 is better, but if it is total I think the number 300k will be the main priority scale. I personally am optimistic about that.

Just as the title suggests, which is a better method of bitcoin investment. I will appreciate an in-depth explanation with relatable historical data.

1. Buying and hodling BTC for two circles (two bear and two, 8 years).
2. Buying and hodling BTC for only one circle, sell all during the bull run and wait for the next circle to buy again.
3. Buying and hodling BTC for one circle, sell 50% during bull run and leave 50% to continue investment in the next circle?

Investment is all about making profits and the only way we can make profits is when we buy and sell with profit. There are investors that would never sell their holdings for 8 year of buying, even though the price of Bitcoin keeps going dip, that will not. These kind of investors are long term investors and they have nothing to do with selling their holdings in a short term. Once we know the kind of investors that we are, it is very easy for us to decide whether to buy and sell immediately after some profits or to wait for a while before selling. This actually depends on our investment capital and the kind of investors we want to be. Every investors has goals and what they are expecting from crypto investment, whether to make profits in a long term or short term.

For personal choice, they can use number 3 which sell for 50% during bull run and leave 50% and continue investing for the next cycle.
Profit from the last bull run can be enough to increase their Bitcoin amount plus they can use DCA method to buy Bitcoin constantly and hold for one cycle or more. That will depend on their plan because each person will choose what they feel comfortable for them.

And selling a little of what you have is better than trying to sell everything and you don't have to bother your self with what happen to the rest after bull run and you can even decide to add to the one you already have after selling that 50%, the market will eventually come around for the next cycle, that is bitcoin for you it will
Come around for sure so know when to buy and when to sell is very important. And DCA is one of the best strategies they can use. Yeah everyone already understands how they run there business so they will do everything possible to hold till it comes around.

Quote
But they can hold for two cycles and sell all Bitcoin during the bull run. That can give them a big profit but they must have a strong hand to hold Bitcoin for 8 years.

And following this two cycle is okay because which ever season is at hand you have to know exactly what to do at that particular time, wether to buy or even sell, the holding part is what have kept a lot of people from making money because before the price increases they have already sold everything they have so they need to learn from things like this, next time they should sell when it's bull run and it does not have to be everything.

For the beginning of my period in bitcoin I did the option to buy and sell in one round when I get the profit and this way is quite worth it for me to do but for now I try to be bigger where I buy and hold for the goal of 2 rounds (if this is possible) and until now I still remain with the goal I have at this time.

Although it is undeniable that this obviously requires a lot of process and patience but in the end I think it will be worth it for me to do and until now I am still not bothered by it.
My hope is that I want to be and realize the goal for 2 rounds this time but it does not rule out the possibility that if there are some more urgent things maybe I will release some of the assets I have and wait for the right moment to re-enter. But hopefully my initial goal can be realized where I am still strong in holding what I have at this time.

In fact, everyone wants to buy Bitcoin at a low price and sell at a high price, but here some can buy at a low price and sell at a high price, while some cannot sell at a high price or take it at a low price, and in the middle they have to sell at a loss for their own needs or the needs of their family. However, Bitcoin investment is always good for the long term because we have seen that after a long few years, Bitcoin has skyrocketed. During this pumping season, the price of Bitcoin has seen its highest height of $99,588 which has never been seen before.
At this point, I have sold all my Bitcoin and put it in USDT. I hope the market will dump. If there is a big dumping, I will buy Bitcoin again and hold it. I will hold my Bitcoin until it reaches the next all-time high. However, here, we should not lose patience and get emotional. You always have to be patient to buy at the market dip and sell at the high price.

I wouldn't trust that circles will continue in the exact same manner they have done so far, so I'd go with the first option.

Yes, considering that there is no way to know how cycles will behave in the future just by looking how they happened in the past, trying to get it right in detail with different timings is crazy.

Why do people make it so complicated? If you don't have BTC, buy right now what you can afford to lose, and forget about it until you need to sell it or you simply wake up one day and you feel like selling. Making more detailed plans is ok in environments of certainty, which is not what happens in crypto trading, even though the cycles of Bitcoin have been relatively stable so far.

The best option is to buy and just hold indefinitely. The closest to that strategy is the first option, so go with the first.

The second and the third options are just the same thing but with different risk and reward ratio. The second option is obviously more risky, but it might reward more. I wouldn't trust that circles will continue in the exact same manner they have done so far, so I'd go with the first option.

Number looks safe, cool and more beneficial. This is because if you bought bitcoin at 16k and sell at 100k for profit, you will not be able to buy back at 16k because the bottom line of the next bear market is always higher that the bottom line of the former bear. Meaning, you will lose the compounding profit that the bitcoin which you bought at 16k will give you in the next two circles.

Secondly, you don't need to be more concerned about the profit in dollar on your bitcoin by rushing to sell but learn how to control your emotions and be patient with your investment in order for it to yield more profit by being patient. 1btc = 1btc

If you aim to maximize your future profits within 8 years, it’s best if you focus on buying bitcoin consistently without attempting to sell even when there is bull run. The longer you hold, the higher the profits you will reap. However, this may take a lot of patience and positivity in the market, and not all is capable to realize this.

Furthermore, buying and hodling, and selling half of it when bull run comes, may also be a good idea. But you can’t guarantee that all your profits will be used to buy back again when bear season comes, since you may end up investing into other asset aside from bitcoin or spend some of your money for personal desires.

All the choices is capable of giving some good profit, it all depends on what the investor's plan is and why was he investing in the first place.

For an investor that's investing on bitcoin as a hedge against fiat inflation then hodling it as long as possible should be his interest.

But that investor that's mainly seeking for profit with bitcoin in the bull run then a 50% sell of or a a total sale after the bull run to wait for another circle again, neither of the two is bad approach. It all depends on the investor plans.
