Diff retarget time of 1.5 days is killing the coin. We are currently on block 12820 and from what I understand the diff is set to change every 864 blocks (1.5 days) which means the next block change is at 12960.

With the average time to resolve a block currently at 2.6 hours, we are currently looking at 15 days for us to reach the next diff change.

Of course once we get to the next diff change, the diff drops and megahash comes in raising the difficulty again for the next block change, which will again take another 2-3 months to switch when the hash rate drops against the raised difficulty. At the current block solve times, the coin is extremely slow to send and confirm.

LTCD went through a similar issue, and the issue was resolved by implementing dynamic diff retargeting which was only achieved through a hard fork. I believe the dev's need to do the same thing.
How would you and others feel about a Kimoto Gravity Well hard-fork?

Ok ...... this coins website looks nice.

If you wan't to see the price catapult...then get a block explorer working and
fix the wallet so it syncs 100% and stay active with the community!

You can do it!

Agreed. A working wallet is 101... I bought some because of the nicely done website.

We have a block explorer, but it's currently running locally.  We're having issues choosing a cost effective server, any ideas?

As for the wallet, the only issue is the low rate at which blocks are being found, this is causing the wallet to think it is out of sync.

we are currently at block 12811.  If your wallet is not in sync up to that block, please email us at [email protected] and we will be happy to troubleshoot your issue.

Grin Grin Grin Grin    Woohoo!   I successfully got my coins from C-CEX transferred over to Bittrex.    Grin Grin Grin Grin

I believe the problem is not with Bittrex and not with C-Cex...

The problem is RedOakCoin needs more miners...it has a slow hashrate now and low difficulty and processing transactions may take 24+ hours unless more people
get involved on this coin.

Start mining people.... I have to add nodes to a wallet conf. file then the wallet was syncing properly...but stopped syncing around 90% done....why?

I just moved coins out of C-CEX and they are not moving successfully...how long do i need to wait..already 20+minutes.

The difficulty is at 80 and with the really low hash rate (less than 100MH/s at this moment) blocks are being solved every 90+ plus minutes.  It could take a full day to send a coin plus have it confirmed.

Things are going to get interesting when the diff does drop and all the coins are mined up instantly with zero buyers on the market.
No node.. Undecided

what's your plam?

It's been a few days since I have been on and the team members keep informing me about people asking about our future plans. I am so torn; we are in such a competitive market, one so competitive that other coin devs., will go so far as to attack other devs., coins. Creative ideas do come easy, but are also stolen easily.

I will share one of the directions we plan on taking with ROC.

https://github.com/exaexa/codecrypt Is a Post-Quantum Encryption Suite with an amazing set of tools.

I, Aetheros, am an Industrial Organizational Psychologist who programs in C++.
Vulcan is an Environmentalist and studies meteorology.
P.B. is a Quantum Researcher (Can Not Post Current Job Status)
Plebius is a hardware engineer, C++ programmer, and was just recently accepted into Med school.

Together, and with the  github above you have a small hint towards our larger end goal of a new feature we hope to bring to the crypto-currency industry.

Otherwise, we are working towards block 17280 and will be pushing strong promotions from now and until then.

We are glad so many stuck with us in the beginning, and we hope to be mined as a Scrypt coin with stability and not features. Remember, we could also all features and pump the coin; but we can't add slowly grown stability. We look forward to a bright future and can't wait until the day we release the big news of our plans, but until then...happy mining.

If the developer sorts the issues with this coin out... this coin has potential... if it drops to 10-50 satoshi I may gamble and buy some.  1 month from now it could look like this...

that's what I'm hoping for!!

What's the point if wallet can't sync?
What OS are you on?
Did you try the debug instructions posted several replies before?
Also try to port forward 7266 on your router, but this is last ditch effort.
