We Are So Greatful To Have Such A Wonderful Community With RedOakCoin
[ As A Thank You -- Sneak Peek Into RedOakCluster At Bottom ]
I just wanted to start off by thanking every single miner and supporter of RedOakCoin! This is greater than anyone of us could have ever imagined! WOW, I Love You All! Everyone of you have helped myself and my team to realize our dreams! This is absolutely wonderful! Also, I have been disposed the past 24 hours and Vulcan did a wonderful job handling the BleuTrade listing and other Thread Based Operations; so I just wanted to give him a public shout-out and must grateful recognition for talking the Helm while I was away.
Just a few quick notes:
- Our PM Box is filling up fast and we are hitting our 5-Hr Restriction!
- I will be continuing our donation efforts to our supporters
Thread Replies:Hi,
I am trying to setup an additional pool (for tests purposes) but there is issue with your source code.
wallet can not be compiled.
"alert.cpp:258:1: fatal error: opening dependency file obj/alert.d: No such file or directory"
@hashpower
1. Ensure there is an obj folder in /src
2. Enter /src/leveldb
3. "make clean"
4. chmod +x build_detect_platform
5. sudo make libleveldb.a libmemenv.a
6. continue compiling wallet
x. This should solve your issues
Get this on c-cex pronto
+1
We will be working to get in contact with them as per your request.
Thank you for your suggestion.
As for now, feel free to request us to be put up for voting (

Dev! Where are you at with POD and block explorer?
@inspirone1
PoD Application was filed with CryptoAsain and we are still waiting on reply
Depending on our workload, I will:
A. Compile, Build, and Host a BlockChain Explorer
B. Some very generous developers have offered to have one made for us!
Just know that we will have an Explorer in due time. I just want to make sure things are done correctly and not rushed.
In addition, I have been talking with a most wonderful DNS Host to address node issues; we will also be able to host our Explorer from this Server should we choose to go this route
i am having trouble compiling wallet on Ubuntu 14.04
gets most of the way than this error
"collect2: error: ld returned 1 exit status
make: *** [redoakcoind] Error 1"
@HunterS
I hope all is well and you are up and running?
What happened with the darktech pool, i had some coins there?
I suffered 2 severe attacks the first deleted the pool, the second attack has completely wiped the wallet. are desolate.
I was shocked.
I'm sorry you can not do the backup.
I had to start from scratch! and not only had a pool ....
For major security i have deleted old files in my server and i use new link.
I'm here.
Michel
New pool set 1% fee and pplns payout. Guys please set auto-payout!
Ps : dev says
what kind of attack deleted your pool and wallet?
never heard of that kind of attack, unles you had lame server passwords, in any case, how can we be sure that it wont happen again?
@#Addressing DarkTech Attack;
@8pool Informed us recently of the attack, there was an attack, I can confirm this. I would like to work personally with 8pool and to ensure this doesn't happen again. I can not speak for 8pool or anyone for that matter, but what I can offer is my personal service and guidance in server hardening, to help bring anyone person, miner, pool, or interested party in helping them to raise their security standards to our ROC security standards. Methods range from simple Honeypots, Wireshark TCP/IP Monitors, DataPacket analysis, and Traffic Encryption to cold storage, Quantum-Key Encryption (or 256 -> Quantum is a bit paranoid) and more. We do have a lot of work to process and get done for RedOakCoin, but would love to personally consult any and all persons privately on security issues of all kinds. For those already in communications with any of the Dev., will help step up security for you.
For Security Upgrade & Hardening Please Contact Us @: Bitmessage is a P2P communications protocol used to send encrypted messages to another person or to many subscribers. It is decentralized and trustless,
meaning that you need-not inherently trust any entities like root certificate authorities. It uses strong authentication which means that the sender of a message cannot be spoofed,
and it aims to hide "non-content" data, like the sender and receiver of messages, from passive eavesdroppers like those running warrantless wiretapping programs.
- IRC Channel Coming Soon
- We are not charging for this! This is the first step, in-part of a larger project which will be known as the RedOakCluster
Any updates on when we can expect a mac wallet? or whether c-cex is a possibility?
There's a Mac wallet on the second page of the thread.
@Blazr2 My friend you are next in line for donations! I would like to work personally with you for future OSX releases and updates. (
Edit: Email Sent)
Our PM Box has reached its limits, please shoot us an email at [email protected], or hop onto Py-Bitmessage [ BM-2cT2vHDrZSczobVgNgAnCqFNLUgp3e2CxU ] and we will discuss future releases.Also, I wanted to give credit where credit was due. I didn't want to update RedOakCoin.Com until Blazr2 was compensated for his work on the OSX wallet. (Strict Moral Code -LoL) Will Be updating the *.Com shortly!
dev, the need for greater exchange
What are your plans, please with pictures, thank you!
Ahh yes, there are many Scrypt coins! In ROC's infancy we toy'd with several other possible algo's. One of which was SHA-3, however, I believe MAX coin beat us to the punch -HaHa. We were looking into being the first Chat Message Coin (ShadowCoin:SDC (PoS) has actually done a beautiful job with their system), or even Anonymous Coin (But hey, AnonCoin has a 'BadAss' team, and well out of respect I don't feel right targeting their MarketShare). However, this does not mean that we are not still looking into these types of upgrades. Instead, we decided to take what some may say is the safe route. However, as you have just stated, launching a pure Scrypt coin in a vast sea of alt-algo's is anything but safe. We felt it prudent to release a clean-slated 'Scrypt-Coin' so that should the opportunity present itself, we could upgrade our systems and implement any future features that not only 'we' but our 'stake-holders' (Any interest party: From Miners, Investors, News & Media, PR, or just casual readers) request & desire. If we had, for example, released an Anonymous Based Coin, and 3-weeks down the road a major fault was discovered across all Anon., ID's & Coin-Mixing Core's we would be stuck with a coin in the fault and it would harm our miners, supporters, investors, and Dev., time. Having a blank-slate 'Scrypt-Coin' give us the ability to only move forward and progress, not worrying about downgrades.
In addition, we also wanted to have a coin that would be easily acceptable by all current standing exchanges, companies, businesses (Retail, Wholesale, POS-Servies). The major New & Media outlets have also gotten a firm grasp on Bitcoin and how to explain it to the general population. Because of this, they have begun introducing Litecoin & Dogecoin into the Mainstream Markets in a way the average consumer & investor can understand. What does this mean? We have created a coin to fit the mold of the current Mass Media-Template, and positioned ourselves in a way such that the news could not only explain what we are, but be easily understood by all. Imagine a progressive headline, "Know Bitcoin & Litecoin? How about RedOakCoin?" and with our 'Blank-Slate-Coin-Model' we could then add what we call anecdotal features: The article could read, "...RedOakCoin has also responded to stake-holders' requests for anonymous Wallet Codes protecting its users from unwanted prying eyes..."

We still have much work to do and many more updates to bring to everyone!
A lot of coins seek a rigid competitive market; It's not that we aren't prepared to compete or one up the competition...(Speaking Only For Myself Here) It's more that I prefer to take the 'Creative Approach' I compete against myself, challenging all that I know always trying to better myself. The thing is, there will always be someone better, someone smarter, someone vying for that "Top Spot." My question, or 'The Question' then is to address, "How can we bring to people what they want and not fall to the wayside by brute force competition?" It is truly a tough question to answer, but we believe, by studying Bitcoin's and Litecoin's success, combined with Apple's & Tesla's Corporate Operations Models, to have found the answer.Future Additions:We have massive plans for a Joint-Communications-Community; The
RedOakCluster!
Please Note: Absolutely None Of This Is Set In Stone! It is merely an idealized concept for the potential communication's protocol & structure of the RedOakCluster! We would love your input on it, we would love your criticism and ideas! Please be harsh and please know that everyone of you are just as much apart of RedOakCoin & RedOakIndustries as myself and the other Devs.,!
