I just fired up a pool for RoyalCoin which is mucho profitable per Coinchoose.  PPLNS 2% fee with Stratum and Vardiff support.

Registrations are open at: http://ryc.axomi.com.

I'd have posted this outside of newbies, but, well, I'm a noob.  Smiley

Almost all of the alt-coins are there are going to be a waste of time.  They're being created to take advantage of people who get super excited about different things and then get pumped and dumped.

Be careful about wasting time with too many alt coins.

I bet thats the kind of thinking many had about Bitcoins in the beginning but look where it is now. I am not bashing you in anyway, I just feel like qualifying your statement. People should really research what their going into because maybe one of the Alt-coins will have a boom like BTC.

i think so

Hi. I started with mining Litecoin, but have moved on to Doge.
Even if it's a silly meme fad, I think the exposure from how stupid it seems will make it valuable in some way.
It's an easy way to start in mining, but it can also be a very dangerous game.

I don't think Alt-coins are a Waste i think its the best way for someone new to get in to Virtual Currency, I think it's a little tricky to figure out the whole thing, with loading the right video drivers and all the arguments and stuff. best guide i found to get started is http://reviewoutlaw.com/how-to-start-mining-quarks-bitcoins-mining-the-simple-guide/

I don't believe its such a waste of time. I've been trading with Grandcoins lately and multiplied my initial investment into it by 30 (on the BTC level). While just a few days ago, Grandcoins went from 0.00000008 to .0001 BTC in the matter of hours and immediately got dumped. But its re-stabilized around .00000500 to .00000400 which is still 50 times greater then what it just was a  couple weeks ago. The a$$holes who pump n dump are always going to be around. But just like how Bitcoin made it through it, i really think other alt coins will do so too.

You guys heard of emercoin? Not much info out there at the minute just wondering if it worth mining.
The difficulty is silly high for a new alt. But from what i have read it seems to have dedicated dev team.

I read about it on a Russian forum from its developers' thread. There was a huge ASIC network mining this coin right from the start. In hours difficulty raised to an unreachable level for a common PC miner. So I suppose it's not worth it.

I'm really just wanting to try out Dogecoin and bitcoin, the only reasons I signed up.

I just got into Dogecoin. Great coin. Hopefully it will rise up up and up!

I can't really mine so I only have 3.9 right now, so I hope it can get to bitcoin standards if that's even possible.

how are you guys seeing dogecoin, worth mining?

Well put it this way, the more miners/users of it, the more potential it will have Smiley
