Thanks for the warning... I will keep to BTC because it's way more stable than Alt-Coins.

Finally , somebody thinking right what to do with his money.

I am mining Alt-Coins as they have the best chance of any returns but am playing safe by converting my coins into BTC at the first opportunity.

There was a lot of fuss regarding Quarkcoin in the last few days. Now, it's dropping. What do you think? Is that it for QRK? Or will it continue to grow?

There is a lot of activism about quark indeed but i haven't heard anyone stressing any interesting points about that alt. So i guess it's only hype and noise after all.

Hello. Great to be on the forums.

If I am not mistaken, Quark is one of the most secure cryptocoins out there. Also... name. SarTrek ftw Cheesy

I will definitely investigate this further.

Unfortunately you are mistaken.

Finally I can make a god damn post. Anyways, I think alt coins are a great thing! I see a lot of potential in alt coins like CasinoCoin, but sadly the devs abandoned it. Someone needs to pick it up and take control like what some guys did to WorldCoin. They were pretty successful too.  I would be willing to help, but idk how the hell one would take an abandoned cryptocurrency and just take over to bring it to its full potential.

And what potential did those two copycats have?

I think there will be some alt coins that are truly profitable, but this will still take some time.
For now I only think that only btc and litecoin are the one your the safest.
Anyone who has bought some litecoins already?

first post.
i'm just now getting into alt-coins although i bought some litecoins in the low single digits a while back. i just bought/traded btc for some namecoins and primecoins.
i'll probably get some anoncoins and protoshares next but i still need to do more research on them. i looked at mastercoin but i'm liking pts more right now. i'm waiting for zerocoin and may trade a lot my btc for those depending of how things go between now and then. looking forward to darkwallet too.

thin markets make volatility very high.  so if you can make the quick return, sell into the momentum and smile!

The bad thing and the good thing about alt-coins is that they are easy to manipulate, but if people got together and manipulated it to become a stable currency with a set inflation rate vs the dollar, it would easily become the world-wide reserve currency.

I would have loled at this , If I could stop crying.

Your argument would be served better by a real rebuttal rather than a veiled attempt at condescension.

From my position, I would argue that there is no such thing as a completely stable currency. With a currency like bitcoins that has an upper limit to the amount that can exist, you are going to continually (albeit probably very slowly) lose currency to factors such as lost wallets, hoarding, and the like. Without a small level of inflation you have, invariably, a small amount of deflation which is far more devastating. This is why virtually all national currencies aim for a 1-3% annual inflation rate.

TL;DR: 1% inflation > any amount of deflation.

Also the 1% inflation acts as a form of investment "interest" for the network. I wouldn't be surprised to see bitcoin monopolized by a cartel of ASIC miners once block rewards disappear. Network monopolization is the one thing that threatens to destroy a virtual currency. Nobody can argue against that.

With Peercoins the 1% gain by participating in the proof-of-stake network acts like a GIC, or T-Bill. It is the safest place to store your money and get a guaranteed return.

This part also made me laugh:
Without a small level of inflation you have, invariably, a small amount of deflation which is far more devastating.

Block rewards my go down , .... but you know that it will happen in a few decades , while there is still the transaction fee which is supposed to replace the reward by design.

Also advertising for a copycrapclonecoin doesn't make your post any better.
