Forum had many users violating the rules and regulations. This is why a good list of banned users are too good to know that somehow the admin are doing their best to eradicate copy and pasting habit of users that are good for nothing posters. I can't wait to see how the forum will go through after this huge waves of ban with users that violates the forum rules. I can sense that there will be a better future ahead on the forum without these users that are only copy and pasting post.

I just expect that hopefully the forum will be a good place to discuss cryptocurrency in the near future.

All of the recent cases are ~exactly like this, since this is what the bot looks for. (Thank you to the bot designer!)

If at any point you had a mindset where you'd treat the forum like a dumping ground by worthlessly copy/pasting other people's posts in order to make a tiny amount of money, then my default reaction is GTFO, and you have quite an uphill battle to earn even a 2-year sigban instead. No warnings, no statute of limitations.

I know of one case where someone was banned for plagiarism in the recent massacre, but a very careful reading of the context showed that the person actually did just forget to quote, and by "quoting" the post they were expressing an actual point even if it constituted their entire post. This person was unbanned without any sigban, since this isn't plagiarism.

i think most of these people just look for semi relevant posts with decent english without too much regard for who theyre copying off of. a lot of the earlier cases i noticed when the forum was starting to catch onto the plagiarism problem involved them copying a reply post from 50 pages back in a megathread and just changing the formatting to make it look different. this way the post would seem relevant and constructive, but most people could catch on with smaller threads if they were reading through it.

Most definitely not, although moderators have access to deleting forum users (worthless) post none have admitted to deleting reported post involving plagiarism beside those post usually serves as a reference in case they decide to denial commiting plagiarism when appealing their ban.

If the offenders are among the favoured few recieving less punishment (temporary ban) then it's their duty to request for the reported post and clean up their account.

Why now? Well its time for bitcointalk.org to claim the first page result when googling "Bitcoin", plagiarism I think prevents this from happening.

I read the whole thread, so it is just good old copy-paste reports now taken to the level of perfection we have never seen before. I reported a dozen users copy-pasting my own posts a few times in the past and it would be interesting to see how many I missed. And while we are at it, is it possible to compile a list of members most often plagiarized? I guess that would give us a damn good and unbiased metric of how valuable someone's posts are

Why not? There isn't any specific reason to "why now"; There was way too much plagiarism content, so someone decided to create a bot... and that's it.

Because it is a bot after all. It is probably checking old posts, and possible every new post created. Checking that many posts and reporting them is inhuman so a bot can handle it pretty well.

And yes all reports are reviewed manually by moderators and given ban based on the usefulness of the accounts to the forum. Some get temporary 60days ban and signature ban between 1-2years while others get permanent ban.

Everything is more or less explained in a few first posts, you just need to start reading from the beginning. In short, somebody is start reporting a lot of users, and considering number of reported / banned accounts he / she is probably using a bot for detecting plagiarism.

The whole thing is kinda self explanatory, someone or group of users could be bot nobody knows or maybe the moderators (handling the plagiarism reports) do know are reporting plagiarized posts in their numbers and as a result offender are punished with permanent ban for regular users and other users which can be considered as net positive amd good for the forum are giving less punishment (1-2years signature ban and temporary ban foe 60days)
