Hey,

Recently I bought Innosilicon A4 Dominator miners but I'm really unsatisfied with my Nicehash results. Miners are updated with suggested firmware but still I'm getting very low real hashrate. This guy here is getting stable 272MH/s but im not even close to this result... I don't know from what batch are my miners.

Miners are working at 825MH/s total power but nicehash medium result from 6 hours is only 696MH/s - graph from nicehash. Im using xnsub parameter. Here is my miner statistics page from one node - I have two of them.
Because of controller failure I have 3 tubes in one controller but with two tubes in one controller results are that same weak... My controllers are TF card - Orange Pi. Ping to nicehash is 80ms.
Can you show me your results or have some suggestions to me?

I'm really disappointed, was wondering to invest more for L3+ but calculations resulted in favor of A4 products but not in this case. L3+ users are getting stable 488MH/s out of box when miner speed is 504MH/s!

Here are some cgminer summary:

Guys, help me to flash my A4.
The problem is that I download firmware, any version, using the program Win32DiskImager to create the image on the SD card. Get a control Board, and the miner does not load the system.
what file system must be created on the SD card? NTFS FAT32 exFAT?
Does it matter?
Even after I write the image to the card, when trying to load a map I find that the map is empty and no files.
Please tell me how to understand what's going on?
Now on my miner address 192.168.1.150
after flashing to change this address??

I fix broken miners. And make holes in teeth :-)
As the first mention already said, they only reply to every 3rd email. Give us the info so we can buy new controllers, even though the rig is still under warranty. Just reply in a very timely manner, like the rest of the world that knows what customer service is. Miners make the most money when you first buy them, so not letting us fix our own rigs, is seriously costly. Even when we are happy to pay, even thought he rig is under warranty, still no reply.
I get it, but this seems to be a common thread with mining companies. Even Ant is getting more grumbling these days, if they would just release schematics and some notes it would go a long way towards people being able to service the miners. But they don't, which is weird.

I don't own any inno stuff, are the controllers proprietary?

Ya, Feel free to contact them, but don't expect an answer. They only answer every third email, unless your buying a new rig. But if you need to order parts because the controller got hot, or some other reason, they're busy now making big money selling rigs, they can't be bothered with little things, like keeping your rig running after you buy it.

Hm. Let them know I'd be happy to help, I'm not free (well, information is free, service is money) but fair.

I am getting a lot of questions via PM's from a lot of people here regarding this mess with the A4's.  I can tell you that I know what everyone else knows, which isn't much.  I know people are frustrated and angry.  I know, I am one of the frustrated and angry customers myself.  It has been a week now since Inno said they were going to set something up to take care of this situation with the miners.  But now I am hearing rumors that it isn't going to happen.  I don't have any confirmation yet from Inno.

So I have a feeling we are going to have to work to resolve this as a community the best we can if we can get our hands on the jigs to do the flashing.  I just sent Inno and email suggesting that they can send me a jig and I will try to help coordinate getting this done.  I have no idea if they will take me up on the suggestion.

In the mean time I would like to see if we can get a show of hands here who has a jig or has one coming to them?  If you have a jig, or have one coming would you be willing to loan it to the community here so that we can try to come up with a way for members to get their units flashed?  I honestly don't think it is a good idea to try and ship jigs from member to member all over the country, but I am certainly open to input on the best way to try and coordinate this activity so that we get everyone flashed who needs it.

The next question I have is how many units are we talking about here in the US that need to be flashed?  I know this isn't a small number, but I don't know how many people have bought A4's directly with Inno that are in this boat with a B1 or B2 miner.  So I would also like to get an idea how many units we are talking about.

This could turn into a huge undertaking trying to coordinate miners coming in, miners being flashed, tested, and then shipped back out.  So there is a significant amount of work and effort to do this depending on how many units we are talking about.

So lets sound off.  Let me hear if you have a jig or one is coming.  And I would like to get an idea how many A4's need flashing.  I would like to get a game plan together and start working the plan.  Thoughts?

I have 2 B2's that need to be flashed.
I have 3 units that need flashed. B1 pair and B2 single USA

Its a raspberry PI. Can't you just go to raspberry and get the connectors from them? Save yourself a lot of trouble, or are they locked out?

After I looked at mine, I noticed it has a MICRO SD card and it can be flashed by plugging into your computer. No Jig needed, well, pardon me, you will need some form of connection plug to convert it from USB to MICRO SD. So, I'm guessing their is different cards.

Is this the case?

Just a heads up.  It appears that Inno is about to release an A4+.  The video I just saw posted on the L3+ thread indicates that if you were involved in the A4 pre-order there will be special access given to pre-order that A4+.

Right now that is all we know.  I am reaching out to Inno now to see what they can tell me about the pre-order for the A4+ and all the details.

So far they have stated:
520mhs
750watts
Looks to be the same form factor as the A4.

I will post the link to the video here:
https://youtu.be/W9z-haTm7nY

In the video they mention the same price per mega hash.  So roughly double the current price of the A4.  Last posted price I saw was $1500 for an A4 so we would be looking at a price tag around $3000.  That may put them out of the market again.  I hope I am wrong, but that would be a hard sell.  I guess we will see soon enough.

do I just think that the price should be reduced? they do not have the potential to compete with their competitors because of the price and they have to lower prices.

anyone know what the user and pasword is for the orange pi Image https://www.dropbox.com/s/5053doax0ewjvj2/G5-20-1.1.0TF.rar?dl=0  for SSH.

I figured out what orange PI they use .

I got it to boot off a OPI ONE once i know the SSH password I'm gonna install Minera then copy the CGMINER bin then figure out how to cable it to my A4 .I can't keep using the junk controller it came with and I'm not paying INNOSILICON 85 bucks more for a controller, that should have worked right to start with and it looks like the OPI they use is a OPI one. I will only buy a new one as a last resort.

New issue not sure what it is but the controller keep locking me out after so many hours of hashing the miner keeps hashing on nice hash or were ever i have it mining,  just can't access it though SSH or the IP UI from that controller online on any Browser but AWESOME MINER is able to keep monitoring the A4 and it does SHOW up on nice hash as hashing  until i do a reboot then i get Access back ..... sadly this IS why i wanted more access to the software so i can run it on a more updated  controller ( and not the junk controller it came with ). I was willing to pay for any cables needed to replace to a better RPI or PI type, i have laying around that will work much better, I could and can use that can run Ubuntu 16 with out issue sigh ... I know, I'll be ignored for the most part an they really don't care ...but I feel i need to express it again .

AND IT IS SO DAM ANNOYING I GET TO RUN LIKE IT SHOULD NOW THIS sigh. not upset more annoying then anything,I'd rather have my own custom controller, i can deal with it better.

NO i don't want to pay 150 $ bucks for a new controller i don't need when all it would take is new cables and Make that version of CGMINER OPEN SOURCE .. I don't even care about your openwrt type UI, I"ll either find one or come up with one on my own or use the black screen and do a start up file .
Hi, the price $150 per controller is too expensive compared with Innosilicon's quote of $50. For more tech support, please feel free to contact us. Thank you!

I sent a  email and fixed it by going back to 2.03 firm ware but doing that makes the miner run like shit . if it's not one thing it's another either i deal with soft ware lock ups using 2.10 or use 2.03 and deal with under hashing on most of the Pools i use . in my case , I'm 100 % sure it's not the controller and is the version firm ware i use .
.
SO again why can't we use our own controllers ...Huh. I don't understand why there is so much resist over that .. same as Bitmain .

it's like the jerk republic's in the US refuse to give us a Single payer system while the rest of the world has one .  and Single Payer health care works !!! ... make no sense.
