What pool is everyone getting the most stable results with? My nicehash results have been pretty underwhelming with wide ranges.

I just checked with Chloe about the BTC exchange rate and at this time they are still asking for the high premium to use BTC.  So I will be holding off doing anything more unless the exchange rate comes closer in line with the current BTC price.  I can understand asking for a little buffer to take into account price fluctuation, but the huge price difference being asked is more than I am willing to pay.

I see a couple more batches of S9's are being released.  Grin

Since we are unable to track the highly variable BTC valuation, we have no choice but to provide a BTC valuation that is on the lower end of this range. We recognize that this does not provide a good deal using this currency when the BTC valuation moves higher, however we also accept USD, which is a much more stable currency for us. Our recommendation is that you make your purchases in USD if you can't time your purchases to a low BTC valuation.

Everyone knows BTC is a currency for SPECULATIONS on market. Imposible to use it in busines when price jump from 200$ to 700$ during 6 months, or drop from 1000$ to 200$. Conversly with LTC, its predictable, exchange rate is stable, can be use to make transactions. I use it for transfers not BTC. Why You (BTW LTC miner producers) use BTC not LTC?? Dont know... Smiley

For those who have blades dropped and reboot frequently, please update your firmware to v1.0.3. We still have a few cards dropping occasionally and reboots in the test but this is much more stable.
Download link: https://www.dropbox.com/s/fuyz1r7cy4pkeir/G5-20-V1.0.3.rar?dl=0

For the first batch (produced before Oct 17th), we also have a new version firmware v0.0.3.
Download link: https://www.dropbox.com/s/h7vq1ntsxhdxzvh/G5-20-V0.0.3.rar?dl=0

P.S.: You can find the manufacturing date on the tamper proof sticker which is covering one of the rear case screws.

Feel free to send us an email for the update manual or any other issue to: [email protected] and [email protected].

In case anyone is interested, I added a pool swap feature to the miner web page as well as support for 4 pools.
Trivial edit, drop in replacement.

To be honest I have had no troubles with version 1.0.0(T) as long as the machines run in a cold environment.

What is the air temperature of your cold environment while the machines are hashing?

In that case can you update this thread with latest links and specify which link is meant for which batch.

Hey guys, v1.0.3 is not released yet. Some customers asked so we sent the intermediate version to  them for a test. They posted the feedback here directly rather than getting back to us... Anyway, we have addressed the software issue and new firmware for batch 2 will be released within 24 hours.

I agree, i know btc can be volitile but to have a static btc price is crazy.  I know they are involved in other ventures, but being that they are "dedicated" to making and supporting home bitcoin miners, i would think they would be more up with btc than what it seems like at this point.  Does anyone have the contact info for chloe?

you GET em! if this wasen't crypto they honestly would be looking at a lawsuit. No lie. i don't buy a product in the "real world" that acts like these A4's, i would sue the company for compensation, if not just get a full refund right away.
but no comp from inno, nope just jacked premiums, ONE PERCENT DISCOUNTS (r u kidding?) and NO BTC ACCEPTED HERE signs :/
As a newer user, i won't be looking here, ill wait for Silverfish...

Brave miner!  Renting it out when stability hasn't settled certainly takes confidence.  I saw that as soon as it was rented it crashed immediately.

Appreciate you sharing this as it's the first visual evidence I've seen of extended stability.   With the dropping price and increasing stability this machine is becoming interesting for purchase.

Actually renting has worked out quite nice for testing.  In the latest rental the renter kept switching his pool setup.  This gave me a chance to see what would happen when the miner is "stressed".  Turns out during this 3 hrs the miners with the new firmware did fine.  The miners running 1.0.0(T) all 3 had missing hash board after the renter's abuse.  In the last hour the renter seemed to just have given up and deleted all pool settings.  All the miners reverted to my backup pool, however the miners in 1.0.0(T) needed manual stop - 30 second delay - manual restart to get all the boards hashing again.

I'm going to run it another 12-24 hrs like it is now and then switch the rest of the miners to the new firmware.  Then I think I will try stressing it myself by running on nicehash or some multipool to see if it can handle it.  I will keep updating this thread, but at this point I think the new firmware is working well.

1.0.3 for me has crashed went to bed with 1h15 min on the elapsed time to waking up to 10 minutes, all blades are still there

Did you see a drop in your hash rate on the pool?

Looking at the pools stats yes the hash rate did drop but came back rather quick but is noticeable. Still better than having to power cycle the unit

nice to see 1.0.3 but when i try to start the miner i get Error getting device list: ERR: socket connect(0) failed but status is running?? v 1.0.2 and v 1.0.0 works?

You will see this error on a power cycle restart until the controller starts communicating with the boards.  On a power cycle it takes my controllers a minute or two to link to the hash boards.  Just give it a few minutes and it should go away.  With batch 2 units the lights on the back will flash until the controller connects to them then the lights go solid.

While the miner is running if/when it decides to do a cgminer restart you will see this message for about 30 seconds until it starts hashing again.

Yes but it never communicated with the controller the file that was downloaded was corrupted

This is still disturbing that we are seeing so many restarts with the latest release.  I am glad you are not seeing dropped cards.  How many units do you have running this newest release?

I have 6 units total - 12 hashing units.  Currently only half of them are running on the new firmware.  2 controllers running 6 hashing units.  I'm not too worried about the cgminer stop/restart as long as it is not happening too often.  When I briefly ran 1.0.2 i was seeing restarts every 22-23 minutes.  This was too often and caused a loss of overall hash power.
