If you can afford to invest during this time...you should....especially if you already investments outside of crypto - diversify! Historical cycles have shown this is a great time to invest in crypto... we are all hoping those cyclic patterns still ring true.
about 80 coins on top 100 look good to buy. they may look good to buy but volatility is still volatility. i like top 10 coins alot but still risky to invest no? i may invest in those coins just looking at it everyday.

I believe that it is too early to invest , the market fluctuates greatly and growth can be expected not before the end of the year , but to trade during the day or week is very profitable and now you can bet on the ETH , it should soon make 20-30% growth . 
Investiment is always risky and no matter where you invest your money ,so investing in BTC is less risky than in top 50 but not always this principle can work as coin can be in top 100 just becouse of its on big exchanges but havent working produtc and some coins from top 300 even 400 can be less riaky if coin has working product and its usable for life for example DeepOnion.
looks ok to buy, if you look at ATH price, but you should analyze for each coin, before buying decision, for me, ETH looks the best from first 100 regarding stability, if you look for quick buck, you should look below first 10 coins
No one can predict certainly even if they are coins in the top ten. I trust only btc and eth now and i do not want to say anything about the rest coins. Because they are all very open to speculation and manipulation.
If I were you OP i should have buy and hold bitcoins. There is no more safer than holding bitcoin nowdays due to current bearish market. The altcoins could move faster than bitcoin so this is why it could create huge loss in investing altcoins than investing in BTC. If you do like to invest in altcoins then I suggest to take the top 10 as the options for buying coins.
Any coins you will buy is risky but if you plan to hold for a long term then i would suggest you buy token in top 5 CMC. I still hold some Eth and Btc cause i still believe that after all the controversy regarding this 2, everything will be back to normal and their use will be massively embrace by a lot of people.
