All of these games are variations of the game of billiards. Personally, I played pool and snooker and Russian billiards as interested in these games for several years. They differ in the size of the pool table, the size of pockets for balls and the rules on which depends on the coloring of the balls and the necessary order of hitting them in pockets. If you know how to play one of these games it is not difficult to play the others.
I have never played the variations of Billiards, much less the Russian billiards, although it catches my attention, but I have never tried another way of playing more than the 3-cushion billiards that already seems to me something very complicated and that can make you kill head for a long time. I think that the trick to playing billiards well is to have very good eyesight, calculation and everything that has to do with hitting it with a "piquete" or perhaps hitting it "down and with a piquete" or "up and with a piquete "As it is said here, it is the different strategies and game mode of each person.

I thought Billiards is quite different from snooker? is it that in Russia, they prefer to call it billiards? The two are fun and entertaining but I prefer the snooker it's more popular here than Billiards. There is a pool too I guess.

Billard is very different from snooker. The one that shares resemblance with snooker is pool. Infact, most people who play pool mistake it to be snooker. I was one of them. It is of recent that I knew what I played as a kid growing up was pool and not snooker. Check this article and it will also shock you what you know https://quedos.com.au/difference-between-billiards-pool-and-snooker/ . We used to bet while playing it and those around also place bets on the players. Pool is a gamblers game, more than tennis or other games for two. A player can lose the overall game but make much money from betting as he plays on. I like it but the balls are expensive to buy and that makes charges collected to play it at local joints in my country high.

I was confused at first because the thread says Snooker game and I know that they have similarities but Billiard doesn't have a pockets like a snooker. I have visited the link you share at the glance of the first man reply I quoted but I was able to understand that we all confuse the names and games when they mean different things, just has some similarities and called Billiards(Billiard, pool, snooker) games in general. Here is a short video[1] I saw that explains everything about Billiards.

Even the ball does not have numbers on it so  yeah Billiard and Snooker will never be the same .

But saying that SNooker has different Pocket like Billiard? lol they are perfectly the same though snooker table is larger than Billiard table and also has different color combinations with no numbers on it.

and of course the rules are very far from both games.

It is my first time knowing about this game and I search it on google,
It looks similar to Billiards or Pool I only played Billiard a few times with my relatives,
Not really into it I just tried it to spend time with them but I enjoyed it even though I am not good with it.

Snooker is a purely English game of chance.

It was invented by British officers in the city of Jabalpur (India).

This was already after the famous uprising of the sepoys, in which Prince Dakkar (aka Captain Nemo, the hero of the novels of the writer Jules Verne) also took an active part.  British officers were bored in India and therefore looked for new forms of entertainment.  This is how snooker was born.

This is originally a sport of gentlemen.  Snooker is played at a leisurely pace while smoking a couple of cigars and drinking a few glasses of whiskey.

Nevertheless, this is an interesting and spectacular game of chance.

The problem with snooker games is that major companies are not investing enough on the game to make it popular. These snooker tournaments are not well publicized hence many snooker fans tend not to know about these tournaments.

You understand that snooker is barely two person's game at a spot or game so it doesn't attract for crowd , viewing is limited as such and companies are for profit they go for sports with large coverage because of sale of tickets and publicity of their business. However again snooker is indoor game that looks a little different from what large number of people know unlike football and other outdoor activities or games but snooker is fun, a good way of relaxing with friends.

I got acquainted with this game when I was a student. My friend and I liked to spend our free evenings in the billiard room playing Pyramid, or as we call this game Russian billiards. There we also learned how to play snooker.

Yes, they're a tad different in terms of rules, but the general idea of the game is similar (or rather the same really) with billiards. I myself was confused about it really, I was actually playing snooker back then instead of Billiards.
The problem with snooker games is that major companies are not investing enough on the game to make it popular. These snooker tournaments are not well publicized hence many snooker fans tend not to know about these tournaments.

There is no hype in it like we do in other sports, having it included in the Olympics may bring out the beauty of it but that still depends on sponsors, they put money in whatever they like.
The problem is not because it's "not hyped" but rather there is "no hype" at all. It's a rather small sport if you were to compare it to what, basketball, football, etc., so it's no doubt that publicity about it would be rather scarce. Besides, if you were really interested in finding tourneys for it, pretty sure google could be a helpful source.

I'm talking about the sportsbook you are advertising in your avatar and your signature, are odds interesting to bet on snooker there and especially on the events you've quoted above? You are necessarily aware of that since you post so many messages here and you are not a spammer, right?

To say that's comment is coming from a high-ranked member, the mods will soon come for him.

Not really into it I just tried it to spend time with them but I enjoyed it even though I am not good with it.

It is a game that you can play and enjoy yourself with friends. If you give more time learning it you will be better, it just require that you hit the balls with the white ball and try to push it inside the hole. More about the game is that many players do have bet or stake on it for a win. The game is guided with rules and regulations that makes it more organized.

Maybe this could be a good start https://www.rulesofsport.com/sports/snooker.html a rules about snooker. I really find this game complicated and still considering playing 8 ball billiards, I think snooker is for much more professional players if you are going to compare the table too it's more bigger and wider, right?

I think that for you to start in billiards it is necessary that you start with the classic, the three balls and practice a lot of time with it, based on my experience what is most important to have here is a good view so you can do the caroms, if you want to complicate more all this, you just have to try playing with the three balls and make 3 cushions, I think that with that you could last a long time practicing each play, that's how I started, the only thing is that I started when I was 12 years old in a bar where the owner left me play as much as I wanted, because I had certain privileges there, but it was enough to learn and defend myself, but it took me a long time to learn to play decently.

I don't bet on sportsbooks so I don't understand much and it's better for me to play the games I've seen I play, even though the result is I often lose rather than win. I only just found out about the site you mentioned because I wasn't looking for more about snooker.

You don't have to ask your friends about a game to learn about it. There is the Internet for that. You can read about Russian billiards here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russian_pyramid.

In fact, I would advise you to go to a billiard room if there are such places where you live. It is impossible to learn to play billiards or other similar games without getting your own experience. It's like learning to ride a bike without a bike.

I don't really know much because I asked my friends but they didn't know either but one of my friends said he would try to find out. Maybe later he will come back and try to explain it to us.

I wonder if that Russian billiards is different from than usual billiard or if any other rules will apply?

I do rarely hear about Snooker games mentioned, if anything in gambling sections. Personally, to me, Snooker is not really all that exciting of a game. Its basically billiards with more unnecessarily complicated rules that most people don't really find all too attractive, since bringing something too complicated into a game which should have a simple foundation does take away a lot of the interest in the game.

Having said that, I prefer to stay with Billiards or "pool".
It's probably because the Snooker game is less popular, so people out there know more about billiards than Snooker. I'm also more familiar with billiards than Snooker but I'm not very good at playing billiards and want to learn billiards one day.

But, after I did a quick search on Google, I found several tournaments for Snooker. You can visit this link:
http://www.snooker.org/res/index.asp?template=2

11-14 Feb 2022 will be held in England for the Women's World Championship. And the next tournament with the title Welsh Open Qualifiers will take place on 15-20 Feb 2022 in England.
That's great. So what are the best sportsbooks to bet on those events according to you? Did you find some sportsbooks offering good odds or uncommon odds for those matches? That is to say above the ones you can find on comparators (for the favorite or for the underdog). What about the sportsbook you are promoting for example? https://www.oddsportal.com/snooker/wales/welsh-open/

Learning to play snooker is actually not as difficult as it seems and to do it you just need to have the desire and money to pay the rent of a pool table.

Yes, only those who are enthusiastic about snooker games will search for more information.

Maybe snooker fans need to introduce this game more by doing more reviews or spreading it on social media so that more people will know that apart from billiards, snooker is also a fun game. It will make the snooker game get new fans besides those who play billiards.
