Currently you have 171 posts, while the topics you created are only 11 topics for now, if those 11 topics are removed the remaining 160 remain and subtract your activity from a total of 126 reduce the remaining 11 = 115 activity,
No. It's not possible to delete the topics and even if the 11 topics that have been made by OP are deleted, his activity won't change.
OP has been active in 9 two-week actvity periods and his actvity is now 9*14. Even if the 11 topics are deleted, his post count will be still greater than 14*number of two-week activity periods in which he has been active and his actvity won't decrease.

And it may worth mentioning that when it comes to activity calculation, there is no difference between a reply and a topic

If all my topics that I've started are deleted. Do I still retain my rank ? Junior , Member , Senior etc...  ? ?

How could you have sitted down in deleting your post in the first place, your rank may be demoted because rank demotion is very possible with the forum if deleted posts is reduced trom the required activities for that rank your are already, but what's the benefits of deleting your post even when the moderators doesn't do that.

If I decide to wipe my profile clean completely, will the rank stay ? Roll Eyes

Wiping away all your post history simply may be an indication that you've been posting what is not well recommendable enough as a good or quality post, i still wonder why you would have one day thought about deleting all your post, all efforts gone, except you're yet to achieve posting much on the forum.

Your topic being deleted does not make you lose your position as JR or SR, except: all your posts are deleted, it can affect your ranking position.
Example:
Currently you have 171 posts, while the topics you created are only 11 topics for now, if those 11 topics are removed the remaining 160 remain and subtract your activity from a total of 126 reduce the remaining 11 = 115 activity, thus you are still in JR's position.

This has been answered above.

You will return to the newcomer position, even though you have 1000 Merit.

As mentioned, the Activity will decrease and, subsequently, you may be de-ranked depending on how many posts you delete. The good news is that the Merits will stay, so in the hypothetical event depicted in the OP, it would only be a matter of posting (and time) to recover the Rank. Bear in mind that Recoverable Activity would not be available as an accelerator to recovering Rank if you delete all your posts.

In broader terms, some people have managed to de-rank their account from Legendary to Sr. Member and even back to Newbie, as well as others have taken their Hero member account back down to Sr. Member through to Newbie.

The following link details 115 significant cases of accounts that have been de-ranked by deleting some of their posts (and/or them being deleted by the mods/self-mods):
https://public.tableau.com/views/BitcointalkMeritDashboard/De-ranked?:language=es-ES&:display_count=n&:origin=viz_share_link

The toll I account for is really of 630 cases, though the Newbies to Brand New are not really relevant and are likely a result of simply being nuked. Note that I only track merited profiles, so I do not have a clue to those cases that have been re-ranked having earned 0 Merits.

I intend that I will ask why you want to do this, but when I looked at your post history, somehow I understood the reason  Cheesy
In fact, you don't have to do that, no one will look at your post history and judge it if you don't participate in advertising campaigns. Moreover, even if you want to participate in something, you can improve the quality of your writing right now. It will definitely make a noticeable difference, and you will see how different you have become.

Also, deleting the post history, or even editing, it has no effect on removing traces (in case of investigation, i don't mean bad), if I remember correctly, most of the data is backed up by LoyceV, and it can be accessed at any time.

Sometimes you don't need to clean your profile due to low quality post, if I were you I won't delete them I may leave for a future purpose to know if actually I am gradually increasing in my post quality. But if you delete all there will be no harm or effects, only if your activity drops then your ranks drops as well. Activity & merits is what determines your growth over here.

If you delete all your posts, that means the rank you have, for example, Member in rank and you have 65 total posts, then you delete 35 posts, the remaining 30 posts will be your rank, you will go down to Jr. Member again.
Note that your rank depends on number of two-actvity periods in which you have been active too.
Assuming the remaining 30 posts all have been made in a single two-week actvity period, your activity will be 14 and you will be a newbie.

I saw some users before deleted some of their old posts even though they had posts more than the activity but still their accounts went ranked down.
How is that even possible, could that have been a glitch?

~snipped~
That's the only reason I could see as to why you'd be concerned about keeping your rank, and if you were going to leave bitcointalk altogether it doesn't make sense why you'd care.
I think OP isn't thinking of absconding from the forum. Otherwise they wouldn't be asking. They would just abandon it and take a walk, knowing that this forum isn't tied to their umbilical cord. What I think necessitated OP's question is that they want to know how to be on the safe side by not tampering with their rank if they went on deleting some of their posts in order to possibly keep a clean post history.

But those merits that you got it still remain intact it will not be lost. Then the activity can't be changed, it will only run when you have exceeded the number of your activity as far as I know. Why did you ask?

Interesting replies, thank all for your input. It seems fairly straight forward now as to what will happen if I choose to delete posts. Tongue
Considering you're a Jr. Member with way more posts than you have merits, I'm curious as to why you started up a thread asking this question.  Are you actually going to delete all of your posts without abandoning the forum?  That's the only reason I could see as to why you'd be concerned about keeping your rank, and if you were going to leave bitcointalk altogether it doesn't make sense why you'd care.

I think this question had been answered in similar threads, but I can't say I blame you for not trying to search through Meta looking for the answer.  The search function here is one of the things that really should be updated from the 2009 era.  Lol.

Ok, so I didn't know deleting posts lowers the activity. I dislike my merit/activity ratio, should I delete posts or is it something that is frowned upon?
Just to add here for you, Deleting a few posts wouldn't lower your activity points. Activity points are earned in every two weeks period ( i.e. every 14 days, starting from Tuesday). You'll have to delete your entire posting history in two weeks period to loose just 14 activity points. If you made 100 posts in 2weeks, deleting them all will not loose you 100 activity points but only 14.

FAQ: Everything you need to know about forum 'activity, account ranks and merit
TIL Activity does not work on precisely 2 week intervals + interval timings
Sheet to follow activity update time: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/12saLhlUoqIdairxzuSPu6EYGrt7FN2lOstO1yDjCEbA

Below is time you need to spend to rank up for some ranks with required time and activity points. However, since 2018 you must earn enough merit together with activity point. Your earned merit can be higher than your activity point if you have excellent quality posts.

That would be entirely up to you. If you want to lose activity and the posts you have made are of no use to yourself/anyone else then sure, there shouldn't be anyone stopping you from deleting your posts. If you are actually contributing to the forum or participating in discussion in a meaningful way, I don't see why you would want to/how you could delete your posts (other than things like giveaway/game and round entries). You should also keep in mind that discussions might make less sense if you are deleting posts that weren't quoted.

I just want to add that you can't delete all your posts. Topics cannot be deleted and you can only delete your replies.
I just want to add this too, that a moderated topic can be deleted. Although, I was unable to delete a moderated topic on other languages/locations, but still able to see 'delete'.

I saw some users before deleted some of their old posts even though they had posts more than the activity but still their accounts went ranked down.
I am doubting if this can be possible if he is having posts more than the activity required for the rank.

However, if your old posts or topics were just deleted by mods I think it won't affect your account unless your post is lower than your activity after your posts were deleted by mods.

No... Rank and merit qualifys you for every particular rank
Likely you mean activity and merit. If posts are deleted, merits are not deleted with it, you have your merit. But if posts are deleted, the activities are deleted too and the person will go to lower rank.
