My experience says Counterparty is not ready for this yet, unfortunately, and is certainly not completely functional.

I gave up following CC a while back now so cant compare.
Try to buy or sell XCP/BTC on the CP main net, you will see how buggy, and how complicated it would be for the common man/woman to use. Dont get me wrong, its clever, but its not a reason to get the operators of centralised exchanges worried, just yet IMO.

I spy a dip in hashrate. Every time this has happened it is followed by a rise to another hash level. Cool

I want to get the shares trading; however, I don't want to pour gas on the MSD Investigation.  I have a number of solutions to the problem, one of which is getting the shares registered.  The problem with bitcoin exchanges are that they are not registered.  So, my thinking is CC.  CC is not an exchange, it is a way shareholders can direct trade shares with each other.  So, my thinking is if I can get the shares registered, then shareholder could use CC to trade direct and the SEC would not have a problem with that as long as the shares are registered.

Thank you.

translation: we're fucked.

I sort of wish we would stop fantasizing about CC, and start looking in to other P2P trading options.  CC, has not, and will not be the only game in town, and quite frankly, I think we would be better off to start exploring these alternative options.

+1  , we need to look for other alternatives in case CC never takes off or takes a very long time. What's our plan B option ?  Wink

There are other options, Counterparty is running a completely functional decentralised exchange this second. And it's considerably better than any colored coin implementations currently existing that I've tested.

The development team are actively commited to the project. unlike fragmented CC which are largely in alpha or whitepaper mode updated in spare time. An independent audit of the counterparty protocol by Sergio Lerner has just been finalised, Green light from him. You can read more about that here. https://www.counterparty.co/sergio-lerner-completes-security-audit/

The sole reason I can see for choosing a currently non-existing technology such as CC at this time (over a competing p2p platform), would be as a delay mechanism- a stalling tactic.
It's common knowledge CC will not be in any 'fit for business' shape any time soon.

Can you explain why the SEC should matter to me? I think ActM is a Belize Company so the legal entity selling the shares is in Belize. If the SEC has to protect US Customers then only allow non-US-Investors to trade at least.

Waiting for CC, which looks abandoned, and the SEC, which might take months, sounds to me like no trading for a very long time from now.

Its funny that you mean being able to sell the shares of an investor even against its will but cant allow other shareholders to trade. The SEC doesnt make such exceptions. I mean for sure you sold some shares to US-Residents then. But the risk selling shares to US Residents now is too big but when you sold ukyo's shares it was fine. That sounds like you take it like you want it.

Sometimes i feel the bitcoin community turned into 90% anger and 10% good things. I hope being out of all these headache things at some point.

Yes, you can receive dividends transparently, directly in BTC. No requirement for proprietary tokens. This balance goes directly to the bitcoin address in question, no complicated secondary steps and NO middle men. The shares would be direct.

are you a CP dev??

What other options allow me to keep shares of a company on a paper wallet? It allows complete control of your assets. Only problem is that it might that a while but I can envision a day where I can store my shares on a paper wallet and transfer them MYSELF to any exchange I want (Havelock, Crypto-Trade, etc.) or exchange shares on a forum or in person.

again, counterparty fits the bill.

And you can receive dividends in BTC? If so, that would be a good option as well.

Ken,

Can we move to direct un-tradable shares until a CC or other solution comes to market.

Just putting up a verification site and paying a small amount of the saved dividends to the verified BTC Address would restore confidence in us as investors that we own the shares. It would also likely help mitigate the chances of more legal filings from those who are unsure if they actually own the shares.

We can then wait X months for CC to mature and you can pay dividends to the verified address and get back to focusing on the company.

Thanks for considering my request

As previously mentioned, you can create ActiveMining shares on top of Counterparty today. Please checkout https://www.counterwallet.co/. It's cheap, reliable (built on top of Bitcoin) and comes with great solution for dividend distribution. You already have our btc addresses.

I've been checking out CounterWallet and although it's still in rough stages, feels more intuitive and closer to completion than Colored Coins…

How do you know the other four aren't in transit?  Maybe they were shipped as individual items?  Why not set up the first one today instead of waisting your time on this forum and see if the rest arrive in the next couple of days before condemning AMC?  Also this thread is going to get rather cluttered if it's used by customers and not shareholders as the title suggests.  Surely there are other threads for this kind of thing?

That would be a bizarre way to ship multiple products that were all in stock to a country as far away as India. Which I believe is where emkay is located. I think is assumption that there was a screw up is entirely reasonable.

I just got informed , that they shipped in 5 different boxes .
I asked Ken for the rest 4 tracking numbers .

Ah, I see. Now maybe we ought to encourage customers to use the other threads instead of inviting them to update us throughout the entire process on this one. Just a thought. No offence emkay and happy hashing!  Smiley

Maybe  the Indian customs officers took the other boards as a tip?

Can't be , I just received 1 tracking number , and that box is here already , with 1 board .
