With all the trolls tearing Ken / ACTM down I'm sure it made him more determined to succeed

You are so right. The man is a fighter and all along he was doing his best. There is nothing more annoying then being told you are not achieving when you are actually doing your best in very difficult circumstances. The development of BTC mining technology has set back many firms but ACtM has struggled on. Ken actually said this would shut up the Trolls so their input has obviously given Ken more determination than most would have had in this situation. Giving up is always the easy way out.

Ken is now officially MORE successful than Mark Karpeles, Danny Brewster and Ukyo put together. He da man.

Ken,

With all of the news recently of failed bitcoin ventures (BitFunder, Gox, NeoBee, etc) and especially the way NeoBee went down...

I just wanted to say Thank You for keeping at it despite set backs (both those we might know about and those we don't). It would have been all to easy to call it quits at any point of the process. I'm sure I'm not alone in saying I appreciate your efforts to keep this thing moving along.

I will always ask tough questions it's in my nature to want to understand the situation as well as helps from an investment standpoint to decide where my risk limit should be.

That said... I know your focus has been on getting the mining going (as it should be); but I was wondering if when you get time (of course after getting shares trading again) you might define share holder expectations a little clearer. For example what financial information we should expect and on what schedule. As well as our reinvestment plan, there has been a lot of recent discussions pertaining to reinvestment and a lot of good thoughts and ideas. I think the community is curious where you stand on the discussions.

I know in the past your advisory council didn't work out the way anyone expected. That said in your "community" of investors you do have several with skill sets that could benefit your venture in one way or another. I would encourage you to consider those resources and reach out when it benefits you. If there is anything I can do let me know.

Thanks,
Shao

As always, checking Ken's last posts is the best way to catch up on ActM/VMC happenings without wading through pages upon pages of conversations.

Getting a decent hashrate and people reporting on their new hardware.

Will take some time to build brand confidence back up. But when it does we should be all set with in stock miners and a good farm.

!!!!!!!!!! Can't wait to see all miners getting online.
Please speed up the online process!

I think this is just an eligius artefact for now... It's probably actually still 15-19TH

Nice to see the hashrate go up, although sales are very slow.
22 miners sold (178 left in stock) in more than 1 week.

Is there a plan to increase consumer confidense in order to increase sales?

This hinges on Ken making the right decision everytime and things always working out. We still don't know how much we lost on the eAsic deal or the 55nm deal. This is also money ActiveMining will never get again. What's the point of throwing money at stuff that won't stick, it would be better served paying Divs

You make a good point. I would like Ken to be transparent now about how much he lost to Peoples ASIC and eASIC.

Regarding dividends, If Ken spent 1000 bitcoin on all this hardware, and we expect a lifetime 30% profit, 1300 / 10,000,000 = 0.00013 per share.

That means for every IPO (0.0025) bitcoin we get 0.05 back in return.

Many of us need Ken to keep reinvestment high to have a chance of a reasonable return.

If we now pay out 50% to shareholders as a dividend I fear Ken will never ROI on this hardware and we will be lucky to last until 2015.

I also assume that a high reinvestment rate is probably the best. At least for the next one to three years( but who knows where bitcoin is then?)

If anyone is wondering why their posts have been deleted and you are not a troll it's because you either quoted a troll, engaged with a troll or your post has no context due to the removed posts.  Please keep this thread clean guys and simply ignore the trolls as their posts will be removed the moment they are spotted.  Ken has access to the ActM Thread account and may delete posts if he wants although it's unlikely because he has more important things to do with his time.

Data Center Update: 4/5/2014

We are continuing to bring up machines in our data center; however, we won't have the air conditioning running until next week, so this may limit us to the number of TH we can put on line this week.

Shipping of products:

Due to bring the Data Center online on Thursday and Friday we did not ship any products.  We will continue shipping starting on Monday the 7th.

I appreciate the Shipping Update Ken Smiley

Basically, if we pay out too soon and ActiveMining can't get it's own profit for reinvestment + the ROI then the shares MUST fall in value. Capital is being lost and it will not return.

If we demand that ActiveMining gets itself sqaure by mining and selling it's hardware before reinvestment and dividend, the shares must RISE in value because ActiveMining will be adding capital back into operations.

Capital lets Ken buy more bulk, so cheaper $/gh and also lets Ken pursue a full custom chip.

I am actually uncomfortable with ActiveMining having less than 3,000 Bitcoin to it's name, it doesn't give us a lot of space to work.

I want money now as much as anyone. I put a lot into this, but I also know that ActiveMining is not rich and paying out too much too soon will mean I never get my ROI.

If it's going to sit in a wallet for months or weeks and not go to use then he might as well pay it out as dividends.

Just remember one thing, all money that gets paid out as a dividend will never ever return to ActiveMining, the company had its IPO and it's unlikely to have a third one.

I have no problem with the ROI funds sitting in a wallet for months. Worst case scenario Ken one day closes the company and pays out the wallet funds as a final dividend.

If we have 1000 bitcoin, and then use all of it for 5,000 boards/chips, now after 3 months we have ROI, so now we have 1000 bitcoin again, this is good. Now 50% goes back to the company and we the shareholders are getting profit from the dividend.

It's profit because the company is no longer losing value. The warchest is the same base it was by the time we get a dividend so our share value remains constant as we get paid out profit. In fact the value of the share shall rise because of the 50% reinvestment.

Now if Ken pays out funds before ROI, the shares MUST fall in value because capital is being lost back to shareholders (This isn't sustainable either)

The whole point of buying hashfast was to make profit. So that in the future both ActiveMining and the shareholders will be better off. If we pay out before ROI we risk ruin by taking valuable capital away from the company.

This hinges on Ken making the right decision everytime and things always working out. We still don't know how much we lost on the eAsic deal or the 55nm deal. This is also money ActiveMining will never get again. What's the point of throwing money at stuff that won't stick, it would be better served paying Divs
