MtGox withdrawal issues are not a secret. Browse a bit around the forum for this, read comments on their Twitter & Facebook page...

err I have done, thats kind of how I know they said over a week ago that USD withdrawls are now back. It would take a few days waiting with a token sale to see if that is the case.

Its the biggest exchange it wouldn't make sense to off load a large amount anywhere else would it?

It wouldn't if you were able to withdraw funds from MtGox. Since it's not the case, as it has been widely reported, this might just freeze funds for an unknown amount of time.

Correct me if I'm wrong as I may be but they said at least a week ago that USD withdrawls have resumed and regardless you have always been able to take out in Euros and convert.

Someone picked up a bounty a few days ago for posting a screenshot of them having an approved withdrawal in USD from Mt Gox

They finally found someone? it was about time...

It might just be a huge conspiracy against Gox, or they might have some issues with liquidity. Either way, I don't think it's wise for a multi million company to take such a risk.
Now, they could of course try to withdraw in euro, hope it goes smoothly, and then convert in $ (losing a substantial amount of fees in the process) - or find an alternative (such as different markets http://bitcoincharts.com/charts/volumepie/, Bitcoin-OTC, etc.)

Fantastic news

Thank you for the update.

News: Ken is flying out to California this week to talk to eASIC. Also this week, we will be getting a finished prototype of the Avalon board around the 23rd from an engineering firm. This firm will also be building the entire device once the board is approved and the chips arrive.

We are about a week behind on the Avalon prototypes, due to us having to get some bitcoins converted.  I was dragging my feet due to the price of bitcoin being $68 at the time.  Everything is looking good for the end of August for the Avalon clones.  Looks like our 20,000 chips are going to be about two weeks late from what I have read.

Mt. Gox has been experiencing problems.  This is why i ask.  And Ken hasn't answered any of us who have asked.   Undecided

Maybe we could talk with BtcQuick to see if they will buy the Bitcoins for a decent return?  It should benefit both parties, BtcQuick gets Bitcoins at a decent price, and we get a fair exchange for USD?

I doubt BtcQuick has that kind of money laying around..

Yea very few parties have that kind of cash sitting on hand to just allocate to btc exposure.

It's actually about the time to receive funds as much as anything. Gox isn't practical if you need to pay anything in advance, let alone the current risk. I would assume that private deals are being done but I don't know.

Gox may be in use and it may be ok, and payment terms for suppliers may be 30-60 days credit.

Once we've had confirmation from eASIC themselves that the deal is done then we're on the way. Ken is there this week so if this is all going to happen we'll know very soon.

@Ken - so all BTCs have now been converted to USD?

No, Working on it now.

People have also asked quite a few times if you are using Mt. Gox.
Ken, are you using Mt. Gox?
