We are about a week behind on the Avalon prototypes, due to us having to get some bitcoins converted.  I was dragging my feet due to the price of bitcoin being $68 at the time.  Everything is looking good for the end of August for the Avalon clones.  Looks like our 20,000 chips are going to be about two weeks late from what I have read.

Are they paid for now?

I don't understand why people put big buy orders way above the current bids. Why pay more? Smiley

4,907   ฿0.00266540 -> all the other bids are @ 0.025x

Yea I don't know why you wouldn't just cross in that scenario.

Fyi on bitfunder the market is 0.00266540 by 0.00266550 at the time of this writing

Fantastic news

Thank you for the update.

News: Ken is flying out to California this week to talk to eASIC. Also this week, we will be getting a finished prototype of the Avalon board around the 23rd from an engineering firm. This firm will also be building the entire device once the board is approved and the chips arrive.

Too many people discount the BTC/USD conversion risk, the markets just don't have the liquidity in place yet for large transfers.

People hate on regulation of BTC so hard but if the CFTC stepped in it would bring currency futures for BTC and allowing mining operations such as ActiveMine to hedge the fluctuations, hell it could even bring liquid difficulty futures.

the sun is shining, but the ice is still slippery
I'm sure I am a very tiny ripple in the pond that is ActiveMining, holding only a mere 11,498 shares (with 1500 BitFunder AMC shares waiting to be converted). I'm not a professional trader, and my only experience with shares is ASICMINER, which I knew nothing about and just bought in because I saw that share price creep upwards. I've officially pulled out of ASIC and gone 100% Into AM. I've never done so much research on a company as I have tonight (8 hours and going of just reading opinions and speculations) It's incredibly fascinating, and I really want to see this company succeed. The joy of being a part of something from the beginning is something I would be very proud of.

I just want to thank Ken, and all the logical posters on this thread who have provided a small time 'share dummy' with fantastic insight into the work that goes into companies such as this, as well as a passion and joy of being a shareholder, and not having the money at the forefront of my mind.

So again, Thank you Ken, and thank all the posters (more then I could start to name) for everything said in this thread. I'm going to continue to contribute every spare trading dime I have with AM in hopes that we all are part of an amazing company being built, and above all, thank you for the passion of it all, these last numerous hours have been spent reading this thread from front to back (and I'm only on page 60!) and it's been an awesome experience!  Grin

Thanks guys!

A man of my own heart! I feel the same way about being part of this from the beginning, and seeing the hard work that Ken has poured into this, I have very high hopes for the future.
+1
I can fully resonate with you guys (and many others) on that one!

Are You Shpongled?
Hi all.  Been lurking and reading for a few weeks.  I just noticed ActiveMining on btct is up to 4 votes now.  Does anyone know what the approval process actually requires?  Is it time-based?

Five yes votes. I think funds have a month to be approved, otherwise they get locked.

kslaughter, what is the proper way to calculate the actual outstanding shares of ActiveMining from those numbers?

kslaughter, how did you resolve the management shares issue? Will those shares be held as treasury stock on btctc or for now or are you going to use some type of special accounts, that do not receive the dividends.

One more question. Why do you keep pushing shares to Bitfunder and not to btct.co, while it lacks useful and important functionality and has lower trading volumes.

Can we reduce the number of open "Official" threads for ActiveMining? Or maybe rename so they reflect the content better?

1) [ActiveMining] The Official Active Mining Discussion Thread  - 68 pages
2) [AMC]-The Official Active Mining Cooperative Discussion - 162 pages
3) ActiveMining Overview and Speculation Thread  - 12 pages

Close down 1 or 2 and leave on for chit-chat and create one for official announcements/reports only and keep it closed for comments.
People can use the chit-chat thread for that.

Thank you.

I don't get you - two separate entities, two separate official threads. The third thread you quoted is not even official so where is the problem?

It started out as #2 and because contract changes, #1 was created. Do not worry about the third.

11498 shares and calling yourself a small fish eh  Grin

Is that a lot? I honestly had no idea  Shocked I hope I didn't come off sounding like a bragger. Just reading about million dollar goals and people with 6 figure shares, I figured my 31BTC (less then $3,000) was a tiny ripple in the ActM pond. Either way, happy to do my part!

Most people don't have 3k in IBM never mind a tiny new start up. If this really takes off you want to watch your security and maybe close and open a new account here for anonymity.

I honestly had no idea. Thank you for the advice I really appreciate it

Congratulations, you own approximately 0.1% of the free float market cap, and almost 0.05% (1/2000) of the entire company.

@ArcticWolf Thanks for confirming this.

I just checked on that, seems someone sold a whole bunch, down to 0.0025, then someone placed an ask at 0.00265 in the blink of an eye.

Yes, I saw that as well. And then someone bought 1 share @ ฿0.00274700 just so to pimp the graph...
