time = number of two-week periods in which you've posted since your registration
How is this determined? Is only one post required per timeframe? Does this decrease over time if no new  posts have been made? Does it correlate to the time online?

I think limiting the amount you can post is not a good idea here is a few reasons why you would need to post 20 posts in less than 1h

1 asking for help and talking about how to fix the problem

2 giveaway threads ( if I say all sent on all my giveaways that would be  20+ posts )

3 a auction people asking questions

4 running a Google doc exchange for a new coin

5 selling a product

there is a whole load more but I cant be bothered to type them all out

if you don't like someone's posts there is always the ignore button Smiley

I vote for a rule that takes off points for every necro bump. The older, the more points disappear.
Over 30 day bump, -1. Over 120 day bump = -2, over 365 day bump = -3, etc

Then we take off a point for every post above a threshold considered excessive spamming:
48 posts in previous 24 hours
24 posts in previous 6 hours
12 posts in previous 1 hour

Applied retroactively.

6 posts in two minutes = banhammer. The obvious post whores who don't read anything.

Lol.  Fair enough.  But I wasn't trying to spam for a badge.  Just for a privilege (starting a new topic) I had already previously earned.

You can start new topics without being a hero member.

That's a good idea though. If only hero members could start topics then there wouldn't be so many useless "why are there only 21m Bitcoin" topics.

I vote to change the rule to only hero members can start new topics. At the very least theymos could change it so you can't start a new topic unless you have clicked into every page of every sticky on the forum.

He's probably confusing it with the stack overflow badge for posting once a day for a year.

Ok,  what badge is that? I've never seen such a badge in here before.

Before you get confused and start spamming again...he's talking about a different website.

You are spamming VERY hard since day 1. Your first 30 posts about MHashes vs. KHashes are so depressing I was about to kill myself when I visited your post history. So many posts about a matter you didn't understand and about you could have learnt using google + the search button of this forum.

Friendly advice: write MUCH less and read MUCH more. The fact it took you +30 posts to reach the 4 h logged required to be able to post outside the newbie area is very telling. In half of your lengthy posts you make points which are simply wrong, because they are about matters you obviously don't know well. The other half are about SantaCoin, SoccerCoin or CatholicCoin (I won't even comment on those).

Use Google man. Use the search. Try to post a max. number of posts per day, otherwise your ignore button will be glowing soon.

I'm not sure, I thought there was one for a year, but all I could find was shorter durations.

I saw it posted numerous times.  It's 2, 28 week periods where you post at least 1 post per day each day.  That's basically 1 year without missing a single day.

Then you saw incorrectly and you need to stop taking advice from newbies.

These weren't newbies but I don't remember if they were hero level either.

Thanks for the clarification.  That's great news.

This new rule about not being able to miss even a single day is ridiculous.
Where did you see that rule?  My understanding is that you only need one post every 14 days to get 14 activity points as long as you average more than one post per day.
I think you mean 14 posts in 14 days equals 14 activity points, which is the maximum one can earn in a two week period.

No I mean exactly what I said.

"as long as you average one post per day"

"you only need one post every 14 days to get 14 activity points"

If you have 1000 posts and you registered in the last two weeks, you'll have an activity of 14. Then, you can post once every 14 days, and as long as your activity is less than your post count, your activity will increase by the full 14 every 14 days.

i think im well over 500 lol not sure how long i have been a member ( only a month or 2 ) i think i have been on the forum a total of 14days lol

I've seen guys post 2,000 posts in a single month.

If you look at my post history most of my posts are long and detailed, the opposite of what spammer do or someone thing to troll for higher post counts.

I actually got called out for too long of posts so I had to cut down.  I never did it for the count - if that was my intent I would have written 1 sentence posts, which I rarely ever did.  And if someone adds value and is active I don't see why they can't be a hero member in 2 months as opposed to 1 year.  As long as its quality posts.

This new rule about not being able to miss even a single day (for a full year) is ridiculous.  Once a new viable alt currency forum pops up (probably next year) a lot of people will abandon this forum for silly rules like that.

I mean, you can buy your title, that's ok, but you can't earn it if you're a quality contributor or if you have a life or life problems and can't post here every single day without ever missing 1 day for an entire year.  That's Stalinist.

most of my posts are running giveaways  Smiley the amount of times I post a day is dropping because  I started my forum  Smiley if your interested look in my sig
