well it's already Friday, any update on those big news yet? or is it just a valid try to push bitcoin users?

The Winlevosses and Adam Guerbuez appear to share a common enemy in the form of Mark Zuckerberg.
Even before he got sued, Guerbuez was carrying out adversarial operations on facebook with his mass spamming activities which earned him his $873 million dollar lawsuit.
Perhaps that raised the eyebrows of the Winklevosses and instigated some kind of common interest agenda from that point on. They may have hired him to do a bit of viral marketing in anticipation of their ETF announcement.
That at least would square because the Winklvosses are sh*t at PR - in fact they usually end up doing "reverse PR" by driving everyone out of the room with boredom at presentations. (I say that while still admiring them for their persistence and enterprise in doing the ETF project).
So hiring Guerbuez to do some silly one-man show on twitter to try and amplify the mileage out of an ETF announcement wouldn't be out of character.

I call bullshit, the guy does mass marketing for a living. Hes hyping people up for something that is probably just going to be a bitcoin project that hes getting paid to hype.

Yep, now he is hyping some failed article that says that if you get your cold storage hacked, your private keys from the same wallet can be hacked.

He's not grasping at straws. It's deliberate to generate as much attention as possible. Doesn't matter whether that attention is hope or antagonism. It all amounts to the same thing according to Guerbuez's MO.
The only way someone would be hyping significant inside information is if:
[1] - it was genuine and he had been contracted to do so as part of the 'pre-launch PR' so to speak
[2] - it was part of some personal agenda that had nothing to do with the overall interests of the industry
[3] - there was some genuine leak but he's blowing it out of all proportion and it ends up in anti-climax for everybody
ALL the hype-merchant chatter in this sector to date is of type [2] or [3]. If it was (to use the cliche) Amazon announcing they were accepting Bitcoin or something, they would not use this approach because it's too seedy for a serious commercial enterprise.
Just sayin - don't expect any fireworks from this (apart from maybe a bit of red mist on the part of investors).

What Guerbuez might be doing is trying to cause another crash.

We also know he's a fan of cheap bitcoin and being seen to be leading the agenda....
Put those together and what do you get ?......infamy by hyping something that's a complete anti-climax or non event combined with a another major crash that he can claim responsibility for (and in so doing, demonstrate that he can 'control' events).

I have difficulty believing that such "big news" has not already been acted on by insiders.

Nodoby is taking them seriously.Ha you sure? Take a look around. Seems a lot of people are taking him seriously, though I'm also sure it's likely hype. People are just looking for excitement I guess.

Charles is a known character, was one of the founders of BitShares and also worked on Ethereum
As far as i can tell charles doesnt follow adam on twitter so they have the whatever news via different communication routes.
If you read my posts I'm a Bitcoin bear, I put zero weight in whatever this Adam guy had to say.
Charles on the other hand, I've seen around the BitShares forums, he's very intelligent & has always appeared to be of good character. He's more technology than market minded but I expect he can discern if something is actually Big news. So if he says market moving news is on the way I'm taking it a lot more seriously.
