@Febo. Which people hehehe? Be careful of people in the cryptospace. I would only listen to opinions of people who have established trust in this community and I am not only talking about forum trustratings.

What is smooth's opinion on Trade Ogre?

@Febo. Badder news, the other exchange is Trader Ogre. This is an exchange that we cannot fully trust for more than $1000 hehehe. I reckon maybe less.

A Poloniex relisting would be perfect. That would bring back some optimism to the project.

People have quite good opinion of Trade Ogre. And now it exist quite some time. Far longer then Binance Smiley

Higher volume on trade ogre than bittrex. All CN coins have been weak this past few weeks with btc price increase. Even monero weak.

Good news is that AEON is not dependent on one exchange in this case Bittrex. Bad news is that overall volume is only $10000.

@bigslimvdub. What mirage are you seeing, I do not see it hehehe. I reckon this project might be almost dead and if there was not a group of motivated bagholders resuscitating it, this would be dead already.

Crypto payments era will happen in like 5 years time. Lets hope bitcoin will b ready. Because if not it will give lots chances to altcoins. In 2017 many things changed. I remember Tweets about Bitcoin from European Central Bank. I was shocked when saw that. I expected they will ignore for much longer. Only a year before if someone would say me that will happen I would tell him he is crazy. But the hype was real. When next hype happens it will be same. We will be surprised again. Bitcoin and altcoins just need to be as ready as it gets to that moment.

@estenity. Yes it has, 10 years ago. But no hype can cause Aeon to be pumped, however. I reckon you want to dump some coins if there was a pump?

You are not alone hehehe.

Looks amazing. If I understand right it will be fully included in next BisQ release. Right now you can only trade if you build it from source.

any further experience ? i hear that bisq has recently upgraded..

Looks to me like there is a live market. Not so active but functional.

@stoffu. That was honestly my first impression. They potentially left the real argument out to hide the most effective statement in your proposal.

Will Aeon be the first Sha3 cryptocoin if we follow your proposal? I tried searching but I did not find one.

No, there exist SmartCash (https://smartcash.cc/what-is-smartcash/) and MaxCoin (https://maxcoinproject.org/) that already use SHA-3/Keccak for PoW. Apparently there seems to have existed a few other even more obscure coins using SHA-3 PoW that went inactive.

There is no CryptoNote coin that uses SHA-3/Keccak for PoW AFAIK. I'm currently examining whether we should simply use SHA-3 or use some other Keccak instance (e.g. KangarooTwelve).

@bigslimvdub. I read your latest State of Aeon article on medium. I do not believe that you have certainly understood what stoffu's issue is on the present State of Aeon, however.

Read his post on reddit again and do not avoid the real issue.

I also agree that the article didn't really reflect my true intent and may be potentially misleading.

Quote
His arguments were that embracing this change would:
  • Allow Aeon to stand out from the rest of the CN community by being the first Cryptonight Light coin to use SHA3.
  • Allow Aeon to move away from its close following of Monero to give itself a unique existence.
  • Allow a test base for CN protocols on SHA3 for possible future integration of other CN projects.
  • Possibly increased interest of developers in the Aeon project.
  • Allow for possible value increase due to increased notoriety of the project.

I'm not really interested in helping bunch of CryptoNote forks; all I'm interested in is an ultimate digital currency protocol that will really kill fiat currencies completely. I don't follow Bitcoin because of the lack of protocol-enforced privacy and tail emission. I believe CryptoNote with tail emission is the right direction, but I don't see a bright future with ASIC resistance. I genuinely wished Monero could agree with me, but I knew it's an impossibility. I thought it'd be a hard sell for Aeon as well, but surprisingly somehow the community largely came to agree with me, fortunately. The notion of Aeon adopting SHA-3 being good in terms of marketing is just a side note and not my point. I don't care which coin adopts SHA-3, I'd just support whichever coin that does (or create a new one if there's none).
