Do you think Dogecoin will always rule the crypto animal based coins? When did you give up on the cats (https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.4748038) and dinosaurs (https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.4748038)?

Is there some way Aeon/cryptonote could be combined with an animal?

Aeonsaur or Spidernote maybe?

DOGE is the BTC of animal based coins

AEON is the LTC of CryptoNote coins

What is the LTC of animal coins and can/should it be combined with Aeon for double the LTC power up (CryptoNote and Animal power)?

I have suggested to the Nyancoin faithful that they could do wonders by becoming the first animal based cryptonote, via a hardfork if necessary.  Likely, a relaunch would be necessary.  It would even fit with the theme of cats being sneaky, and dogs being open and loyal.

They weren't enthused.

I'm sure someone will inevitably slap the hottest new meme of 2016 (which may not exist yet) onto a Monero clone once the GUI is out.

On a side note, I can't believe that was only two years ago.  It seems like a dozen lifetimes have passed since then.  Time really slows down when exciting new things are happening to you.

As long as it's not Drumfcoin or something like that... I consider that little orange Oompa Loompa an animal too Smiley

Kidding aside, I don't think aeon or any coin that's wanting to become a "game changer" and future financial juggernaut to subcum to being a ridiculous sounding name that goes along with some meme. Financial institutions will never take something sounding so silly seriously (tongue twister). If something comes out and it's "X"coin, it automatically screams out that it's some copy and paste scam.

I disagree,  copy paste and add on's does not make you a developer commits # can be 1000000 still it's nothing if you can't provide and to me having a GUI should not be rocket science if you say you are a crypto developer, so even if GUI is a big thing to you to accomplish guess what there are already like 100+ coins already have it; reminds me of school when you type anything and hope you pass lol; more like a website designer is what I see in both coins. Get it?  gambling site and a bad looking website anyways.

I am not trolling when I say all this, its the same people in both speculation thread Aeon and Monero yet you calling me a troll when you guys are spamming the shit out ETH & DASH threads. I checked Aeon thread because it was spammed just to see Monero people and a Monero developer actually working here as a developer?!! what the #$%$ man no wonder you guys all you do is spam others like crazy with you're nonsense =S a coin like Aeon with a marketcap of $150,000 is somehow important and always in the 1st page of Alt section no wonder I see you hating on other coins success now...

I disagree, I have found the devs to be tremendously hard working.  I haven't checked the commits recently, but there is solid and steady progress.  I still remember when LMDB felt like forever away, and now its here.  Soon, GUIs will roll out.  Bitcoin wasn't built in a day and neither will Monero and Aeon be.

As we always say, if you're looking to 'get rich quick' then there are many other IPO/ICO coins out there for you waiting for you to 'invest' in.

But Monero and Aeon are aiming to build something real.  And certainly no one is asking you to 'sit tight and wait'.  Pitch in, help out, figure out what you are good at and use it!  Trolling isn't really something we have a lot of use for right now - do you have any other skills?

Ahh no thanks, it's the same pump group, why would I join you when you're developer Smooth is hanging out here more than he should. He is a Monero developer who all he does is talk and waiting for the community to work for him same goes with that Fluffypony gambling site crap. If I invest or try and help at least the main people should work too.

Edit ~ stop playing with pplz emotions saying these two coins Aeon & Monero will be $100 one day just sit tight and imagine!! but 1st wait 2 years for every stupid update while we suck u up with donations and a gambling site.

Yes Aeon is very small, but no one is pretending it's anything other than what it is - a Cryptonote test bed with big dreams.

You are welcome to try to build it into something with us, which is probably more productive than complaining about the small market cap.  What did you expect an early adoption opportunity to look like?

Coming here makes me feel dizzy, I feel like I am reading the same thread going from Monero to Aeon speculation threads. Same people same devs same crap with both coins having dead ANN threads.

EDIT: I just went to check how is Aeon doing since it is spammed here all day by Monero spammers and this is what I found -,-
http://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/aeon/#markets really guys? wasting my time for this REALLY!?

Announced ahead of time... release data and time known well in advance.
winrar wallets fully downloadable with pass protection..so all unrar at the same time
very fast diff change
low block rewards scaling upwards.

Monero and AEON had #1 (announced) and #3 (good diff adjustment) and had compiled Windows builds. Once you have that I don't think the others really matter much because there is no huge edge to being a little earlier than someone else. Maybe you get an extra block or two in the first few minutes, but not millions of coins or anything crazy.

The only real problem coin on his list is probably Litecoin, since the old-school 2016/4x difficulty adjustment was a bit of an instamine (2-3% IIRC). Not sure about DOGE.

Aeon may feel small and insignificant at times, but it is not.  To date, there has been no suitable replacement for the 'proof-of-work' mining method, and very few blockchains employ a clean POW history with no premine or ICO.

I can count approximately under ten that matter: Bitcoin, Litecoin, Dogecoin, Monero, and yes - Aeon.

There are far cleaner (fairer) POW coins than all of those. I'm speaking as a miner of over 100+ coins from the very launch.

Many POW coins went through a stage of following a fair launch protocol which was mostly called from from all miners on wave 2 alts.

From those you mention I only class Doge as fair(ish)

The others are fair(er) than 50%+ that were unfair(ish)

There are a few outright unfair and devious coins that most need to be made aware of.

These outright unfair coins should be known to the entire board and all noobs that turn up on btt shores.

I read an interesting article today about "How to save 1K USD by the end of the year". This is funny amount actually, that's all about how to not feel discomfort when you are accumulating. So why it here? Ok, I bet everyone in this channel already accumulated or looking for a way how to accumulate more crypto, this is how you can do that:

Every week buy an amount of AEON which is equal to a week number of the year. Start with 1, next week buy 2 and so on. Pretty comfortable, but with crypto it's better to reverse strategy, and buy 52, 51, 50 and so on, because I am sure that from current point AEON will only rise and would be wise to start from big amounts right now. I am considering this strategy with XMR, with AEON I suggest to use bigger amounts, maybe 500, 499 and so on.

Amount will be more than 1K, so assuming it's January 1 now, if you need exactly 1K, stop increasing after 25.

Thoughts?

It was once proposed to rename AEON to Ratcoin Smiley

Aeon is a better name than that. Ratcoin does not sound like an appealing animal coin to me

I would only disagree in so far as given that we are down near a #100 ranking, there are many similar-value coins there neither you nor I probably know anything about. While we happen to know a lot about AEON, others probably don't, which puts all these smaller coins in a somewhat comparable group. So it is hard to judge which of those many coins may be also be clean PoW coins.

As far as coins in the top 20-30 that are more well known I would tend to agree.

Monero is working on adding more Q & A questions for stackexchange. If Aeon feels it is ready to do the same thing, great! If not, consider posting some questions like these to help Monero:

In respect of the website, content is king.

It might be a good idea to start with the FAQ first. Once we have a strong FAQ, we then have enough core information to populate the rest of the site.

So...in order to get the strongest FAQ possible, we first need as many questions as possible.

I invite everyone to submit questions here so we can collectively build a big list. We need as many questions as possible. Even superficially stupid questions such as "Can Aeon help me make a sandwich?" are required.

Every time you post, copy and paste the previous list of questions to your own so the list gets bigger.

Here are some to get started:-

What is aeon?
What is a blockchain?
What is the aeon blockchain?
What is the bitcoin blockchain?
Where can I buy aeon?
What is the history of aeon?
What is the current state of aeon?
Who are the developers of aeon?
Who launched aeon?
What is the future of aeon?
What are the legal implications of aeon?
What is the difference between aeon and monero?
Is aeon abandoned?
Why was aeon abandoned?
Can aeon help me make a sandwich?
Will aeon make me rich?
Is aeon more like bitcoin or ethereum?
How do I mine aeon?
How can I help aeon?
Why is privacy important?
Is aeon just a currency?

etc

Dig deep. See it as an exercise in streams of conciousness. We can whittle down duplicates and variations later.

Right now, we just need the questions. Answers can also come later.
