Frankly I enjoyed the second goal which was scored by Bukari and the Siu celebration he did later, even Ronaldo was amazed. Ghana actually surprised me in that game. Out of all the Africa nations that went to Qatar they were my least favorite to do something. It's just occuring to me that Ghana was bond to score as their recent World cup appreance has all came with a goal. I underestimated them and so did the Portuguese side because of how poorly they played at the first half.

Now that an African nation has gotten a goal, I think it's high time we get a win at the world cup. Senegal plays Qatar today and that must be a must win game for Senegal and Qatar as well because anybody who lose should probably start packing their bags to go home as their chances of progressing has been lost. My bet is on Senegal to win that game convincingly. I hope Qatar hasn't bribe the Senegal side as the rumor of them doing that in previous game was reported.

Hehehe.
Watching and seeing Portugal winning yesterday got me erect ( lol ) I saw it coming even though the last goal from Raphael Leao was offside and the officials and VAR honestly have been poor with some of them duties in the biggest World Biggest Game.
Watching two Suuuuu celebration got me wowed as the Ghanian did that for his Idolo 🐐.

They almost proved stubborn but big thanks to the midfielder's, Bruno Fernandez and Bernado Silva the both of them are game. Deciders as they bossed and controlled the midfied. Ronaldo wasn't worth the man of the match but congratulations to him on those awards he broke and set yesterday.

Senegalese officially becomes the first African side to win. Next to do so might be Tunisia they seem favorites in them next game.

Senegal 2 - 0 Qatar
Good thing Senegal have proven that they can still score goals without Mane, I was worried for them during the game because they tried creating so many chances before the goal finally came. Their next game against Ecuador will be crucial and they obviously have to be better against the Ecuadoran team that is a very determined team when playing and will not settle to defend against Senegal like Qatar did at some point in the game especially since it is more important they win or draw against them to confirm their qualification to the next stage.

SENEGAL IS THE FIRST AFRICAN TEAM TO HAVE A WIN IN THIS WORLD CUP.

The win of Senegal was a win for the whole African continents. Even though African teams are not weak, but they are unable to have a win. The Ghanaians were able to put pass 2 goals into the net of Portugal but some kind of favouritism make VAR not to review a controversial penalty kick and offside.
Senegal chances of qualifying from that group is still slim even after winning against Qatar. This is because Netherlands vs Ecuador is almost ending in draw which will extend the points of both teams to 4 against Senegal that has 3 points.

That was the most embarrassing moment of the game Tbh, at least not when your playing against him, it doesn't make any sense.

I was one of those who doubted they could do anything after their AFCON performance, but they proved me wrong yesterday; they are the only team that has shown a desire to win rather than simply sit back and absorb pressure from their opponents.

Anyway, at least we had two goals now from Africa. And against Portugal no less. To be fair, I thought the game only opened after the crappy penalty (was correct but so soft). Almost got a hand to it too.

No worry. Only makes odds better for all teams left in remaining games. I will be keeping an eye on odds.
It was far too soft for a competition like this, but it's Ronaldo, the FIFA boy, and it's expected that he score 1-2 penalties in every international competition. He even received the MOTM award for having the fewest touches in the opposition box in the second half of the game.

Nice game from Senegal....

Senegal played extraordinarily against the host Qatar, it was a very exciting match, even the strength of the two was almost equal in terms of ball possession. Dia, Dieng, and Diedhiou played amazingly and scored a beautiful goal for Senegal's victory, I am even more convinced of Senegal's chances of qualifying for the round of 16.

ghana has a chance to beat south korea and uruguay, they are not super strong teams, i would say they are teams that are within reach of ghana, while tunisia can also beat australia and if denmark loses against france then that will Tunisia benefit, with Cameroon the situation is very difficult, in this group Cameroon has no chance to pass to another stage, while Morocco still has chances to pass because they are in a very easy group in relation to other African teams

I have faith in Ghana too this World Cup. They don't have a great team either, independently on the other teams in their group, but I think that they are in good shape. Even if they don't seem to have a strong attack (maybe Iñaki Williams can change that), I like to bet for underdogs, especially when I foresee chances of victory for them.

Maisaje Yahanna Vera, 14 years girl won the 10km marathon race at Lagos in 29 minutes. There are good athletes in Nigeria but the leaders don't want the youth to progress (corruption is killing Nigeria sports). I collect the image from Facebook.

Well friend unfortunately you have to deal with all these things, the bad practice of some governments has always resulted in that sometimes they do not support their athletes, in my country it is something like that, what happens is that it is a more centralized government and when the resources are given from there, they can simply be stolen by some of the other politicians or those in charge of some sports entities, that causes everything to be delayed.

In another order of ideas, we saw how Senegal won today, and they showed great football, I really liked the goals they scored, at least Qatar scored 1 which was very significant.
Honestly this was a victory that all of Africa needed, I hope they continue like this.

Senegal beat Qatar to leave World Cup hosts on brink of early exit

Quote
HOST NATION QATAR were pushed to the brink of an early elimination from their own World Cup on Friday after a 3-1 defeat to Senegal.

Goals either side of half-time from Boulaye Dia and Famara Diedhiou gave Senegal the lead before Qatar substitute Mohammed Muntari replied in the 78th minute to set up a dramatic finale.

Well, in part I feel sorry for those from Qatar, you can see that they were very sad, they still have a chance to get through, but it's more difficult.

Senegal will play against Qatar today. I predict they will win the match. But this win may not be enough for them to go to the next round. Because their direct rival in this group will be Ecuador.

52 minutes and the result is:

Senegal 2 - 0 Qatar

I do not believe that Qatar will be able to reverse this result, so Senegal can already count on the first victory, with this victory they have 3 points, but the problem is that Ecuador are strong and they can beat Holland and if that happens then ecuador will have 6 points and the netherlands will have 3 points and senegal will have 3 points, in the next game senegal will play against ecuador and in my opinion senegal will not be able to beat ecuador and holando will beat qatar and will have 6 points which will allow them to move on to another phase, senegal has a hard task of having to beat ecuador, but they also have to score a lot of goals when they beat ecuador and they have to pray that ecuador does not draw against holland, they are accounts that sincerely I only see senegal passing to another phase if they are lucky

Tunisia, Morocco and Ghana are in very difficult groups. It is a little difficult for them to go to the next round, in my opinion. Also, it was an unforgettable moment when Embolo remained unresponsive after scoring a goal against Cameroon. And Cameroon are also in a difficult group. In my opinion, Senegal have the potential to make big surprises in the next rounds. They played well in the Netherlands match. If they show the same performance against Qatar and Ecuador, they can go to the next round.

Considering the first group game played in group A, i think Senegal has enough in their bags to get maximum points against Qatar today. I hope they play tactically and take their chances instead of relying on pace and power againts Qatar. Also, i think the group is still open as ECUADOR faces Netherland which could throw the group open. Important for senegal to get the win today

senegal has already scored 2 goals and is winning, at this rate they are already the clear winner, at least they will already have 3 points, but they will need to depend on a lot of luck to pass to another phase, holland will have difficulties to beat equator, they can even lose against the equator in my opinion

Inaki will want to really really build on his uptake this year, and you never know Ayew, he turns up with a mad run down the flank like he does for Palace and he's gold.

I'm not a big fan of J. Ayew, but the entire Ghana hope is on A. Ayew and Partey. A. Ayew is a bit old now, and I wasn't expecting him to be selected to this world cup after his split with Ghana FA after they were eliminated from AFCON, but he is the only one capable of making dangerous attacks and shooting from the far post in that team. I never liked how J.Ayew was converted to a striker in the first place, and he hasn't done anything significant at Crystal Palace in my opinion.

He appears to have had a minor resurgence, watched last few Palace games and he has really looked dangerous and proactive.

Just noticed the new poll in this thread. I selected the "none" option, because I don't think that any of the teams would be able to progress to the PQF stage. Senegal lost their opening match and are without their best player (Sadio Mane). Tunisia managed a draw against Danmark, but unfortunately they are placed in a very tough group alongside France and Australia. Same with Morocco, as they have to deal with Belgium and Croatia. Cameroon is in the same group as Brazil, Serbia and Switzerland. Ghana also need to defeat either Uruguay or South Korea.

Usually there will be surprises from African teams but so far there haven't been, 3 teams that have played only resulted in 1 defeat, namely Senegal and 2 teams won draws, namely Tunisia and Morocco, very different from the Asian team which has surprised football lovers by defeating two the favorite teams to win are Argentina and Germany, Argentina's loss to Saudi Arabia is still a hot topic of conversation today.

Currently Cameroon is playing against Switzerland, Cameroon is not favored in this match and I didn't even choose it on my money line bet, my prediction is that there will be no surprises that will happen maybe in the second and third rounds because that will determine who will qualify from the phase this group.
The first half ended with scores 0-0 will this be the fourth game that finish with a goalless ? hope not

The African team had good team spirit as compared to other developing countries. Argentina was the dream team of people all around the world. It’s defeat against the Saudi was backfire one for the people of Argentina and rest of the world. Argentina have to improve their game in the recent days, it was unexpected game from the top class team like Argentina. The upcoming game of the Argentina will be the acid test to them. They need win the test and prove their worth to the rest of the team. The upcoming match of Cameroon and Switzerland, most of the people supports to the Switzerland. And most of the bets will be made on Switzerland as compared to the Cameroon.
Ofcourse the team spirit is there and devotion but I hate the fact that we have been showing too much respects to our opponents and we cannot get results by doing so. I think its time we take the bull by the horn and give our all for the results. I expect African teams to play as Saudi Arabia against big teams and not to show them respect. Hopefully the send round of the group stage will be different and we will return stronger and better.

This world cup so far has been boring for the African continent. We don't have a goal or win yet to celebrate and it's frustrating watching all the lost and draws we're having. Hoping when our representing teams play the second leg of the group stages, we'll get some goals to celebrate.
Now you have two goals to celebrate it would gave been bad to finish the fiery round without a single goal from African team buy Ghana never disappoint.
This World Cup happened in a period that I am not much occupied such that I have to watch literally all the matches. I have watched almost all the matches of the African countries, despite that none won in this first stage of the group match, I can confirm that most of if not all of the African countries played good football and have a steady good team.
This means that they could get a better results in the second round of the group stage.
In the second match against the hosts of the world cup tonight I think Aliao Cisse's troops will get the victory we really hoped for today, Kalidou Koulibaly cs must get a landslide victory over Qatar because today's match is the match that determines Senegal qualify from Group A for following the next match at the 2022 Qatar World Cup.
Indeed, I consider the first match against the Netherlands as a defeat of class and I consider it natural for Senegal, but tonight against Qatar in my opinion, Aliao Cisse and his troops in terms of players and experience were able to destroy Félix Sánchez Bas's troops.

Tunisia and Morocco try to get a point in their matches, but the main teams we put our hopes in are failing us despite the fact that we know their opponents are very strong; in the case of Ghana, the substitution of the two players who contributed to the first goal was a mistake because they play an important role in the match and taking them off cost them the game.
While I cannot say what happened in the case of Senegal and Cameroon, I can say that their opponents have much more experience than them, which is why they lost the games. Nonetheless, they have a chance to win their next two games, and if they do, we will be very confident that our African countries are representing us well.

Ghana have given Africans a sigh of relieve. Two wonderful goals against one of the best teams in the world is a great achievement that should give African teams that motivation that they can do more. I was more disappointed with Senegal because I expected more from them but they didn't put in their best. Most African team seems to loose concentration in the second half. Ghana would have gotten a better result if they had coordinated their defense well. Their defense seems to always give space to other striker while they only focus only on the striker that is holding the ball. It would be shameful that no African team makes it to at least the quarterfinals of this competition because they have the right quality players. But I am confident that these teams have learnt their lesson and the next group matches would be a goal feast for Africans

I'm unable to understand why Ghana's coach had to take out Ayew and Kudus, who posed a danger to Portugal's defense.

Like you who can't understand it, I'm sure all the spectators, especially the Ghana fans, also don't understand and can't stop thinking about how the Ghana coach could replace two players who actually played an important role in Ghana's first goal so they could equalize. and this substitution immediately allowed Portugal to score two goals with a short time interval, and we can see on the bench how disappointed Ayew was with Portugal's two goals after he was substituted, maybe we would have seen different results if the Ghanaian coach could be more observant in choosing the players to be substituted

Senegal, Ghana, and Cameroon, three African nations competing in the world cup, have all lost their first matches in Qatar. Only Morocco has a drawing match with Croatia.

Will the four African nations that are currently the face of Africa in the world have any hope of qualifying from their various group stage?

I'm not a big fan of J. Ayew, but the entire Ghana hope is on A. Ayew and Partey.
A. Ayew has been one of the problems of Ghana in this their first half game against Portugal, he is the player meant to push attack but from what I saw in the first half he was playing more like Partey a defensive midfielder, turning back to pass each time he had the opportunity to run forward. No real attempt in the first half unlike what we saw from Cameroon. I have also observed that there are no speedsters in this Ghanian side that is trying to run into the Portugal Defense. .

A. Ayew was the only one making dangerous off-ball movements, but no one could pick him out of the midfield; you can't expect him to force an attack on his own when the midfield has already been dominated. Ghana had a terrible first half, no doubt. They sat back, attempting to break the link between Ronaldo and Fernandez, which is the best thing any team could do given how dangerous these players are when given a little space. A. Ayew is always the hero, but when things go wrong, he is always the scapegoat.

The only mistake was Addo's substitution of A. Ayew for J. Ayew; they were on a high tempo to win the game before that substitution, and it didn't take Portugal long to score twice after he was taken off, but overall it was a good game for both teams. How did Williams blow that last-second chance to convert on that Gk drop? He only needed to turn and shoot, but he wanted to control the ball before scoring. danm.
