Denmark has become the main disappointment of the World Cup, not only for itself, but also for Tunisia  Cheesy I do not want to belittle the victory of Tunisia, but the main reason for this event is the French team. Their manner to play poorly “unimportant” games (such as the League of Nations), and try well in important games, once will play a cruel joke with them, as the winner mentality is lost in such “unimportant” games.
Tunisia performance vs Australia made Deschamps decide to play with literally the second team. He underestimated his opponent and paid that the hard way although the changes he made in the second half. Otherwise Tunisia played good too.
~
I don't think Deschamps underestimated France's opponent, it's just that first place was guaranteed for France so he wasn't worried about the outcome of this game at all. In fact, this is very sad, since it is dishonest from the point of view of sports principles (the team that plays with a demotivated opponent in the last round obviously has an advantage) and does not give a damn about the fans.
Unfortunately it was the case. Imagine 5 minutes after the goal, Deschamps made 3 substitutions at the same time, including Mbappe, then 10 minutes later he added Griezmann then Dembele. Half the team was changed in like 15 minutes after the goal. It is true that he was confident that his team will win or get even a draw but that goal surprised the French team. Anyway that was a lesson for them.

Morocco won and officially joined Senegal in the Knockout phase. We will see if Ghana and Cameroon could follow them.

Morocco has already scored two early goals and is currently the leading team in group F, so they may soon join Senegal as the second African nation to qualify for the round of 16 of this 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. Because of the teams in the group, Morocco is one of the African nations I least expected to advance from their group, but they are about to shock the world by doing so and knocking either Belgium or Croatia out.

Denmark performance in the other hand was shocking. I was expecting them to win or at least to get a draw but they kept doing very badly. It was the second disappointment of the World Cup for the moment after Argentina defeat against Saudi Arabia of course Roll Eyes

Danmark is a shadow of the team it once was. And apart from Kasper Schmeichel, I don't even know any of their players. Their forwards like Yussuf Poulsen and Martin Braithwaite are quite experienced, but they lack consistency. Hopefully next time (for 2026), they will rebuild their squad and inject some fresh blood. Overall, in this tournament so far we have witnessed the UEFA teams performing below their potential. The loss for France yesterday was yet another example. And tournament favorites Germany are languishing at the bottom of their group now.

Tunisia - France
This is a game where France has already moved on to another phase, so I think they won't be tough against Tunisia, maybe Tunisia has a chance of beating Franca, or will Franca decide to go heavy just for ego? I don't believe they will do that, now the question will be if tunisia will be able to beat a team that will not be strong, if tunisia loses in this game then it's all over for tunisia
Tunisia has become one of the African countries that beat France after Senegal and South Africa. Even though Tunisia didn't advance to the following stage (the round of 16), they still consider their victory over France to be historic. This is their first and only win in the world cup, and it leads the home. Tunisia would have been eligible to qualify if Denmark had defeated Australia. Unfortunately for Tunisia, it didn't work out in their favor as they probably would have assumed for them to qualify to the round of 16 world cup

Tunisia missed the opportunity since they lost against Australia which was supposed to be the last in the group. Apart from this, African teams are doing really well in this tournament, we already have Senegal in the second stage with high chance for Morocco to follow, as well as Ghana need a draw to pass.

So Tunisia was able to defeat France but still couldn't progress to the round of 16 as Australia defeated Denmark with the same scoreline 1:0. The Tunisia vs France game was filled with drama as a late equalizer from France was cancelled after the VAR review. Which means tunisia can hold their head high while leaving Qatar as they defeated the current champions of the tournament. I think France didn't play to their full strength as you predicted as they're already in the next round of the competition. Although they controlled most of the game, Tunisia still won and that's some positive results to take home with them.
Denmark went from having 27 points from ten games during the World Cup qualifiers to finishing the group with one point and zero goals against Tunisia and Australia, one of the worst flops of all time after so many good things surrounding them before the tournament; they are the second worst team after Qatar so far.

Oh, the drama! Denmark let them down; they gave everything, and you could see their disappointment when France equalized, and when VAR canceled the goal, they still hoped Denmark would draw Australia.  Wink

Tunisia becomes the first Africa to crash out of the group stage of the World Cup. They did not qualify but their performance was not a bad one. they had four Points in the group and it is that same four points that other people in some other groups will be needing to qualify. It is quite unfortunate for them that Denmark refused to draw with Australia. Tunisians will be going home but not with total disappointment but with some kind of happiness because they were able to win the world champions

Tunisia win wasn't enough to see them qualify as Australia has seen themselves winning twice in the world Cup, Denmark got me wowed, as they couldn't win a single game.
I am under the impression that France did not see this game as completely important, so did not go all out to win the game. However it has gone done on record that Tunisia defeated the defending champions France although the win was not enough to see them to the next round. Funny twist is that these Tunisian team started very well and looked more promising to qualify from their first game than even Senegal that has made qualification.

Which African team do you think will go the farthest in this world cup?

some African teams are performing well, at the beginning of the world cup almost all african teams were still not playing well, it was as if they weren't taking the games seriously, but in the second game they already started to make a lot of effort, maybe because They must have realized that many teams that were considered strong were all just on paper, in practice they are not strong so that motivated them to start making an effort and today we are already talking about African teams moving to another stage. for example:
senegal has already passed to another phase
Ghana and Morocco still have great chances of passing to another stage
African teams are making us proud
I couldn't agree more. Since Saudi-Arabia beat Argentina, it was like Humpty-Dumpty that had a great fall and sort of like a moral booster to other so call "weaker" teams. In the case of African teams, clearly Senegal came to win and played with dogged determination despite their initial loss, now they have proceeded to the next phase. All eyes are on Ghana and Morrocco to do us proud. It will be a thing a joy if they both proceed to the next phase. No team is unbeatable irrespective of their big stars.
I also love the display by Senegal, I guess they were warning up in their first match, but the subsequent matches have proven that they are ready for the world cup. Even though they can't move past the quarter-final, they did well this time as the reigning champion in the African continent. Ghana is impressive as well, and so is Morocco, but as much as I don't want to be a prophet of doom, I still do not see all of them reaching the semi-final.
Don't let us forget that the higher they go, the tougher it becomes. Well done African team! Kiss

Apart from Sadio Mane, the performances that Senegal has shown are truly commendable. They played very well. Although defeated in the first match, Senegal easily qualified for the next round by winning the next two matches.
On the other hand, Morocco and Ghana are in a good position and if they can draw in the last match, they will be able to qualify for the round of 16. The performance of every African team is quite good in this World Cup.
Tunisia's performance against France in today's match surprised me again. They beat France 1-0. And I think many gamblers lost money in this match.

Now waiting for Ghana vs Uruguay match on the 2nd of December, I really hope Ghana have the same good luck that Senegal had today..
Wishing the team the best.

Luck was it and not solid team play? Haha. I think Morocco and Ghana if they keep playing positive the way they have, there's a fair chance of at least one of them progressing. Of course I want Darwin to do well but African football in WC has been of much higher quality than Afcon that I think they deserve 2 reps in the last 16.
Well, not entirely luck, but you would agree with me that we never can overrule or undermine the power of luck, as long as it is a game of football, anything can happen, even with a solid team play, the opponent might find a chance to win if they are lucky, the game between Argentina and Saudi Arabia is a very good example.
I watched a show where the Saudi Arabia team coach was interviewed, he was asked if his team deserved the win from the way they played, he said that he was as shocked as everyone else that his team won the match, that it was purely luck on their side and not about the way his boys played.

It would have been much easier of Uruguayan National Team but won or drew against Portugal to make sure that qualification would be sure. I'm hopeful that Ghanaians would qualify instead of Uruguay. It would be payback time in my own opinion for Ghana since they got knocked out by same Uruguayan National Team last World Cup.

Tunisia player, Wahbi Khazri also made history today by been the first African player to score in three consecutive starts for his national side at the world cup, he scored against Belgium and Panama in the 2018 world cup & today scored against current champions France. The poor form of the African teams in the first game of the competition is going to be the reason we'll be seeing teams leaving Qatar at the end of the third game.

Senegal best Ecuador 2:1 today, a very big congratulations to the team, they have not just made only the citizens of Senegal proud, but the entire Africa, they have made it to the round of 16, this is really outstanding and I congratulations the team ones again.

Senegal has made us proud; they gave it their all yesterday and defeated Ecuador, which many did not expect given that Ecuador is a very good team and had performed admirably in their previous two games prior to facing Senegal. Senegal opened the door for African teams like Morocco and Ghana to advance, but Tunisia's qualification will be very difficult because I don't anticipate France losing to them. Let's wait and see how today plays out.

It looks like African teams are getting motivated in the second round, we barely counted goals for African nations in the first round until Ghana got two goals and now we are even getting 2 to 3 goals in one game which is really surprising. I'm so proud of Ghana today for winning Against South Korea and scoring 3 goals in the game is an outstanding performance for the team.
