I agree with you. I believe if Ronaldo was in the starting XI of the Portugal team then the Portugal team would not have been beaten so badly. Portugal's performance in the first half was not as good as expected. They could not maintain dominance in the match in the first half. And in this opportunity, Morocco made several good attacks. The way Morocco are performing in this World Cup, they are capable of beating France. France and Morocco's match tactics are completely opposite. France play attacking strategy, and their defense is less focused. They have conceded goals in every match of the World Cup. On the other hand, Morocco plays defensive tactics. And they conceded just one goal in this World Cup, and that too against Canada. As the strategies of the two teams are completely opposite, it is difficult to predict the outcome of this match.
Although Morocco play defensive football but they have a very active attacking force that can utilize slim changes. Counterattack is also their main strength and the would have gotten more goals in the match against Portugal. This match has the tendency to be a cheap on for either side. If Morocco's defense fail to hold the ever blazing attack of the French side, they might conceive early goals. But if the Moroccan get a goal first, the French team would find it very difficult to curtail the solid defense of the Atlas Lions. Another game for Morocco to knock out another France ? I won't get boggled but even if they don't get to win France, I want to see them taking and becoming third runner's up in the FIFA World Cup Competition.

And Portugal could not make organized attacks in the sections where they had the opportunity. Morocco played well and deserved to win the match. The result of the match was fair in my opinion. Now they will play the semi-finals with France. This match has already been the most talked about match. And this match attracts more attention than Argentina - Croatia match in my opinion. Because Morocco managed to become the most colorful team of the tournament with the matches they won. I think they will play the France game with the same tactical understanding. They will continue to play very good defense. Their first priority will be not to concede goal again in this match. That's why I'll most likely bet on under 2.5 goals.

While we're celebrating Morocco defeat of Portugal and qualify for the Semi Finals of the FIFA World Cup, as a result Africa will get 11 slots in the 2026 World Cup that'll be held in Canada, Mexico, and the United States. We'll get an increase of 9 permanent slots instead of the usual 5 since the number of nations that'll be eligible to partake in the world cup is getting increased, we'll also get another slot through playoff and another just because an African nation has reached the Semi Finals. Morocco have been marvelous in this world cup, looks like Christmas came early for the African continent this year lol. I can't find the right words to express how fulfilled I am by this Moroccan side. They have been defeated the world heavyweights in the world cup. Today's game was another shocker, after scoring late in the first half they were able to hold down the Portugese team from getting an equalizer until the last minute even after conceding a red card. I'm beginning to have a feeling that this world cup could be the best ever. I pray this impressive performance from Morocco will motivate the Super Eagles to see themselves as a world class team and push for greater heights.

I already suggested adding Morocco goalkeeper Bounou to the poll since he is the national hero of the Moroccan team. His move to give the reward to the last match to En-Nesyri was a nice one.

And of course, everyone who does know Bounou will know his team is one of the biggest bedshitters in La Liga (and that's after luring everyone into thinking they were title contenders last season). And so far this season his team is in the relegation zone, so man, he cannot possibly be considered for the prize outside international football.
Strange he wasn't in the poll, he won golden gloves in Spain 2 seasons ago...
I don't disagree he's a great performer in this tournament, but let us remember they have only played 5 games in this world cup. A league's 38 seasonal games, plus Europe and cup ties is a better estimate of prowess (though it should be added he has 1 goal and 2 assists in the last couple of seasons).

unfortunately i can't participate in the voting because my favorite (the moroccan goalkeeper Yassine Bounou) is not listed. but i don't blame the creator of the pool because who would have thought that this goalkeeper plays such a tournament and shows one brilliant save after the other in every game and brings the opposing strikers to despair ... not to mention the held penalties

As it stands now the Morroco goalie is set to win the golden gloves and he is also the best African player in the tournament. He should arguably be the best goalie in the Spanish league. European nations have been ruling the World Cup for ages, they have reputation and history as the big teams and favorites which gives them the upper hand mentally for the competition. In this tournament, Morocco has played the big teams Belgium, Spain and Portugal and won. If Morocco go into the semi final and lose, it would still be a victory for Africa as a whole because now we have the confidence that we can compete with the big dogs.
I am not sure that the Moroccan teams they are going for the final or semi finals to go and lose that is not the target. we could say that even if they crash out in semi-finals they have tried and they have made history for Africa which is right but with the mentality of the coach he told you that if not the World Cup victory it is not victory he's going for the gold let's support them and stop looking at them as inferiors Jump to:
