Yeah, there was a time when the free ebtc airdrop reached up to 4,000 USD in worth and that's when I believe the hype began with airdrops. They never reached the heights of what ebtc reached but they got the idea. However, I personally don't like them because bitcointalk is spammed with a lot of toxic airdrops cluttering the forum.

maybe some airdrop only, but not all. some sometimes lead to fraud and data misuse, so I guess you should always be careful.

Maybe you can, as long as we have to choose which airdrop is good, and do not forget to join bounty

sometimes, yes. NOT always, just dont rely on it so much. if you try to make "free money" try to get into project like bounty campaign
I think yess maybe some coins do not have high value or do not have value all it is still have benefits..

For me its dipinds on the airdrop because not all airdrop are succesful airdrop, that can give benefit for us who are interested in airdrop. Nevertheless I am interested to follow airdrop because airdrop is free coins so, less of effort but we have the possibility to earn in simple singing in their sites.
But sometimes it's a waste of time like you almost joined them all but still your wallet is empty and mostly of the airdrops now just want to have many followers in twitter as they require you before you can join in the airdrop you must follow and retweet their tweets, yeah it's fine but sometimes they're just fooling the participants like do this and those but still you got nothing.
As I can see the airdrops before really gives us money like we're so hook with it and that's why now they're taking the advantage of it.

Some airdrops are just scam because they just want to get the information of some people. When you fill up the form, some require the information of private key and for those people who doesn't know the importance of private key, they easily get swayed and give it out only to find out later that their coins are already gone. There are some airdrops that are legit and may have some value. You just have to wait for sometime for the coin to have some value because many of them are late bloomers and some are being hype but with no real value but you can still benefit from when you sell at the right time.
As for me, airdrop has great benefits if the coin price is good, but not useful if coin is not valuable it can be called a junk coin. but I hope the airdrop I follow has a good price to me.
Some coin have really give hign value to those people who join them like ebtc, ecash and other coins and in the middle of pumping dev will be gone like nothings happen a what amber said, but i think most of coins are useless coin.
Just my POW if a campaign has good organization support and a good system, airdrops and its beneficiaries will be lucky enough for the tokens/coins distributed will hit high, more and more audiences and support will come if everyone sees that it is a promising, what is really importance is on how to get the entire community understand and learn about it, in that will it will be easy for them to help the project or campaign. Then if that happens, its gonna be great both for admin/dev and the supporters. Airdrops will be awesome!
Actually, airdrop is a bonus coin but not as big as the other coin bought with some amount of money.

perhaps yes, because airdrop is usually only required to register an account and include our wallet address. after that, we just wait for the next plan to enter the market list. there we can sell it at a high price.from there we get profit. but usually the profit is not so high.

depending on the airdrop ,, there is also a big successful airdrop. the price can continue to rise when it is just airdrop. I myself was interested to follow airdrop .. because the result is quite a lot.

If for me it is sometimes airdrop beneficial only part like eGold that I get from airdrop. But for now most airdrop is like garbage where there is no clear plan or road map. you just can not rely on huge benifits when you reveive it free. Airdrop is free to received , but most airdrops are shits that they all only want is to have money , earn money through their investors. If you want to have a huge benifits , invest in an ICO that has a big potential in the industry. 
It's free money anyway! But I doubt these coins have huge values in the first place, since many people received such coins for fee.
