Yeah, they should update it to early March and get ahead of the curve. Shocked

Cracks me up......bASIC drops the ball and you still talk sh!t bout BFL. Too funny.

Well the thread *IS* about BFL shipping, and they have already "dropped the ball" several times. BFL is very clearly running the same playbook they ran for their soft FPGA release. That is to say they're repeatedly lying about projected shipping schedules. Happy to entertain you though. Lemme sum it up.

BFL projected shipping(currently) = 3 months overdue. Compensation to customers? NADA.
bASIC projected shipping = 1.5 months overdue. Compensation to customers? 33% more speed FREE

...oh and instead of repeatedly lying about a new fairy tale shipping schedule every couple weeks, BTCFPGA simply manned up and threw the chips on the table...so to speak.

Hello! I want to ask:
If I preorder /buy (and pay)/ today BitForce Jalapeno;
When I will get it at home (probably)?

Quote from: BFL_Josh; 12-01-2012
Probably around the end of January / beginning of February.

BFL should update its FAQ page.  It still states preorders are due to begin shipping late November or early December.

I think Avalon is actually ahead of everyone else at this point with their first pre-order. They may well ship first, followed by bASIC and then BFL.

I think you're in the minority.  The calculation people are making is this...

Order = Company you think will ship first

That's the whole game.  Whoever gets the hardware first wins.  No prizes for second place.  Whether or not the company is reputable only factors in indirectly, changing whether no not you can trust BFL's December date over Tom's mid-January date.

Course they know more than they're saying, but if they told you what they knew you'd likely cancel and demand a refund.

Yes, perhaps if you only think about short term profits, and don't care about the reputation of the company. I for one gladly take any truth over bullshit though, stalling as a sales tactic to keep pre-orders would just make me more inclined to cancel.

what i think is that they are working on getting the asics done, same as the other companys that are trying to get there products out.
it might take a few weeks, it might take a year for all i know.
but im not going to look at dates the companys set as "estimated for delivery" and go mental when they are not done by then.
cause well, its estimated

So, what if a company were using your understanding nature to spit out estimated shipping dates that were unacheivable, but that kept you strung along? For instance they could announce a shipping date of October early in the year to ramp up enthusiasm and pre-order $$$, then as October approached they could continuously push that back by a few weeks at a time to keep you from cancelling. Said company might actually ship in February or March of the following year, after their competitors, but might be able to capture a much larger portion of the market than they would have had they been forthcoming with their production schedule. That would suck right...if such a company existed?

My point is that BFL should give a date, since they are designing the product, then we don't have to guess like you just did. Even if they don't know for certain, I bet they still know more than the rest of us.

reading is hard mkay!

Yes, apparently, since you failed to read all of my post. So, we can expect ETA in January then, in the week of the 11th.

fail on sarkasm much? lol

Ditto, or did you really think it would be January?

did i say something about january?
or do you just like pulling shit out of your ass?

I think it would be easier for everyone if BFL just announced an ETA date ('E' as in "Estimated") when the first batch will be ready to ship, instead of: "While I can't give a hard date and say 'absolutely' this is the date, it looks like the week of the 11th, but that's the 'fuzzy' date I have at the moment and I'm waiting on confirmation on a not-fuzzy date from the foundry right now."

"Week of the 11th"...Hmm, ok, which month is that (or year even)?

If there are more delays, then just set a new ETA date, anything is better than this "fuzzy" crap.

You mean the equipment they claimed was "currently being installed in our new facility", on October 4th?

https://forums.butterflylabs.com/content/120-bfl-invests-assembly-equipment.html

 Cheesy

It is just more BFL optimismspeak.

BFL wins pick and place machine on eBay - "Hey guys, currently installing pick and place machine!"

As an absurdist, I love this level of epistemological paranoia that BFL has created through their psyops.  I have a feeling someone may have been a radioman in South Korea at some time in the past.

How big was your preorder?
