this is not perfect time even right way to enter into crypto industry. Such way could be danger for newcomers who are unknown about hidder facts of this industry. but i can suggest you to buy any of top altcoins like bnb, sol, dot with your dollars except teher, busd, usdc cause those are stable coin. If you are much more interested than you would rather have some time to learn and gather inner knowledge

I also highly recommend CMC coins especially those that are first after BTC, the reason is simple, they are very easy to rise when BTC rises, some have their history very similar to that of BTC, they are not very young coins, they have They have gone through some phases of the market which make them have a possible community and many investors, also if they are listed in CMC it gives a bit more confidence.

Currently if you want to capitalize quickly, I recommend buying NFT game tokens, although it is a risk, you will get fast results, you just have to do the relevant research so that you can secure your investment in the short term.

Don't discourge him to buy ethereum because it can be bought partially and not the whole coin, he/she have the freedom to choose just please give him/her choice what altcoins is the best for now because he/she needs some money to cover her school. Honestly if 200$ is all I have to invest on crypto coins I'd rather risk them on meme coins cos In just few weeks this money can turn into 1000$ easily, newbies are investing more money into meme coins than other good projects right now so I'd risk 30$ per meme coins and sit back to watch what will happen, someone did this and made alot of money

It is clear because careful research is something that must always be in every new project, because every new product from a particular project always has a different concept and that needs to be known by everyone so as not to be deceived by the strategies of scammers.

Better seperate it to several coins like 30% for BTC, 30% for ETH, 30% for several good coins in top marketcap and 10% for investing on random hidden gems on pancake swap (in this current era speculating on a coins is needed because there are so many pump from the whales to shitcoin)

A lot of new coins appear because of the raise of the market and big demand for cryptocurrency. But it is very important to carefully check all the projects. Scammers do not sleep and there are a lot of scams too.

There are lots of altcoins you can buy on the $200 you have, ETH is one the be suggested but Ill think it too late now because of these ETH are in high price situation maybe you can buy some other altcoins has a dip price right now and hold it until the price is moving high. But be careful of what altcoins you choose because there some altcoins are so long to rise price or become dead in no time. And I will suggest must pick the top altcoins, Actually you can seen them in any market or in CMC.

I would suggest Sibha Inu, Doge, Woo and Wazirx which are below a dollar. And BTC, BNB, ETH are top coins which is above a dollar with high trading volume in all exchanges. Since you have just $200, I would advice you to pick the coins which are below a dollar and go for a long term trade at least to a minimum of a year. Or just watch the market and see if you are gaining 30 to 40 percentage profits. If then sell and buy when the coin goes down. This will add up more coins in your portfolio.

These coins are excellent, but since I have been seeing a lot of analysis and articles in cointelegraph and other magazines, UNI and DOT are quite future, and DOT has not dropped in price even though at one point they did not allow the price to rise, well all the bears were buying at the rallies.
