I would have looked at dogecoin, too many people started taking payment just for them. Don't know why, but looking at the chart people either know something, or looking forward to something.

Honestly, I would not invest in altcoins, but in ICO. I would split 1 bitcoin into 10 parts and analyzed the market. Then I would choose 10 distinct ICOs.
2018 is significantly different from previous years. Let's see what happens. Earlier, when the price of bitcoin decreased, we saw a parallel growth of some altcoins. This year there is no such thing. We're seeing a steady drop in the price of all altcoins. This means that now there is no sense to invest in altcoins. They are waiting for the rise in bitcoin prices. Now I buy only bitcoins. Perhaps this will be the trend of this year.
Someone just introduced me to Trx and I think it's a great way of investment too. So I will be splitting 1btc on xrp, trx, and xlm . The stellar network too will grow to be big someday

I don't agree that ETH it is altcoin. Ethereum it is separate technology with more wide options than Bitcoin. I think that price of Ethereum it is another story and it has not connected with BTC.
