Maybe the OP should tell the difference between shitcoins and some real altcoins out there. Shitcoins just die out in the ecosystem because they don't have anything to offer. But if you are going to invest in the top 10 altcoins, then definitely it is still productive and you can still make a lot of money, just by holding them
Altcoins are not dead for me and for many traders out there,in fact we earn more trading altcoins rather than bitcons(in my case).I seriously loss alot in trading bitcoins,plus the fact that you can do short trades on altcoins and make profit every minute which you cant do on bitcoin specially if you dont have big funds
I think what he meant was startup ICOs, he considers it as an altcoins. And yeah I also earn a lot in day trading some altcoins in binance. I really dont like to invest in ICOs nowadays because most of them have no real use case in the long run or in short money-grab projects.Altcoins can also include these rules! Altcoin is still very productive, but for you to enjoy from it's productivity, one has to do lots of research to know which token to invest on. If you find a good token, just hold, it is only but a matter of time, that you will start earning. Make the right choice on altcoins!
Patience is the key in every sector not only in cryptocurrency. There are many instances that people have suffered big losses without patience. After months of pain, now the market is slowly increasing and correcting itself. As predicted by crypto experts, the year, 2018 was not favourable and good for cryptocurrency. But the year of 2019 will be good for it. So the signs are good for this year as the market is gradually increasing with all coins in the green. I think traders should keep patience and do not take decision in haste.

Instead of investing in old coins, I am always curious to invest in new arrivals so as to get more benefits. First of all your title is confusing, what do you mean by "productive" altcoin do not produce anything, you might want to change it to "profiting". Then you can't just generalize all altcoin by saying that all of them are actually giving profit to investor all hodler, since most of them are not, even most of investor lost their money on altcoin. You better specified which altcoin do you mean.

that's true, most people used bitcoin as their long term holding and that's it. look at the market and there are some altcoins that can grow at the top instantly. basically, pump and dump is a key to help us get profit. that's the main deal in altcoin.

Yes for me altcoins can be similar to bitcoin value and price now actually this can really surpass this in the future because they can run already a similar things about bitcoin so in short altcoins can more than better

It will be good to also check similar projects too and if there is a project already thriving under thesame categories determine if there are significant difference if not just go with the first project and leave the new ones based on your determined impact and awareness of both projects

Anyway, what altcoins do you mean here, are they new altcoins or top altcoins? I think it should be clearer firstly. For new altcoins, I think they become fewer this year because investors seem not really interested to invest in new altcoins. Many investors prefer to buy top altcoins that can be safer to be their assets. I think it makes sense, during a lot of scams and failed projects, they must be more selective.
