Is price of the altcoin is based on price of the bitcoin?I have noticed the price of bitcoin falling down for past few days on same the price of altcoins are also falling down
of course not so each product stands alone, even though at the time of bitcoin fell the price of atlcoin also fell it only evoked panic by market participants because all have their own potential, indeed while the price of bitcoin has always been a reference for altcoins but bitcoin cannot set it up altcoin drop.
These are all cryptocurrencies and I think that is the main reason that when the price of BTC increases or decrease the price of ALT also increases or decrease. The relationship of these two is very strong. For example when the price of bitcoin decreased in the start of this year the prices of all other coins also decreased. People wonder why this happened. I think it is controlled by someone.

It's been a while since now, altcoin is almost independent, regardless of the BTC price, so I think the market will soon recover and the altcoin prices will grow. BTC is no longer attractive to many investors.

The price of altcoin is not based on price of the bitcoins because those new altcoins has their own platform and that is the biggest advantage of altcoins to bitcoins.

indeed this altcoin price seems to follow the price of bitcoin, if bitcoin falls then the altcoin price also falls, but not all altcoins also decline, because in my opinion there is no relationship between the price of bitcoin and also altcoin
One thing which is true for all crypto coins that Bitcoin is base currency and other crypto coins have the same nature as of Bitcoin that is digital existence so clearly it will have some affect on other crypto coins. Like the price of other Altcoin are affected with the Bitcoin and go same with Bitcoin as it produce the same picture and perception for people to look at all these crypto coins.

indeed most altcoins follow the movement of the bitcoin market. but in my opinion, not all altcoin movements follow bitcoin. for example, bitcoin dropped, some altcoins still rose. I myself hold and see the coin ico movement, when the price of bitcoin goes up I think the coin price that I hold will rise too, but it turns out that the development is not the same as bitcoin. so I don't think all coins, the movement depends on bitcoin.

all this time the fact is that bitcoin is still a reference for the movement of altcoin prices, because bitcoin can be said to be a coin that is considered the parent of all altcoins. but not all altcoins experience this, there are some altcoins that are pumped when the price of bitcoin is decreasing quite dramatically, often also happens when bitcoin has increased significantly but all altcoins actually go down, it seems to me because many investors from Altcoin who turned to bitcoin.

yes of course the price of bitcoin and altcoin is the movement always gives the same price movement, usually the altcoin price will rise when the price of bitcoin rises and the price of the altcoin will fall when the price of bitcoin falls. to take advantage of price differences in the market to find profits so that the price of the altcoin will rise.

This is not occurring with all the altcoins due to the fact there are some of the cash that are not depends on bitcoin price or bitcoin actions and they'll pass with their personal particularly the cash which have a reasonably-priced fee. Most of altcoin fee nonetheless based totally on bitcoin price and until now, if bitcoin pass to the higher charge, the altcoin will follow growth and if bitcoin goes down, the altcoin following too.
yeah buddy, sure you're proper the rate and the altcoin motion relies upon at the charge of the bitcoin due to the fact the altcoins will normally be made for one of the coin answers that can be used to make shipments or are commonly referred to as arbitrage so they take benefit of the rate distinction to find a whole lot of earnings.

There is no direct link between the two, in fact alt coin was made "alt" meaning other than something, making altcoin an alternative coin from Bitcoin. However like there is no direct way to buy some alternative coins yet, Bitcoin and also ETH becomes the tunnel or bridge to buy these coins, frankly. For investors to buy these coins, they buy BTC/ETH first before buying these coins they wanted to buy.

Although I would agree that there is somehow no direct correlation between them. I would say that since cryptocurrencies are not your traditional currencies and are affected by different factors. We can't discount the fact that Bitcoin really has a big effect on how many altcoins in the market trends and changes in value. It is perhaps because of the fact that since Bitcoin is the biggest valued coin in the market, it has become a prime controller of how the market moves that indirectly affects how many altcoins play out.

I think it is but not all altcoins will follow if the bitcoin's price will increase. I notice that the price of my altcoins in my portfolio are increasing once the bitcoins price is increasing. Altcoins which paired by bitcoin in the crypto markets will be affected but not all the time, because there are some altcoins which don't go with the flow on bitcoin's price instead they are reserved.
well, I guess some coins are not affected by the price of bitcoin, but it's affected by the price of ETH. well, most likely, when the ETH price drops, many coins will have a low price, and I think we all know about this.

Most of the peoples of this fourm know cryptocurrency means bitcoin. As a result most are involving to bitcoin trading. This correct that if bitcoin price down the altcoins price is down too because another altcoins based on bitcoin.
Yeah it is right because the market cap of bitcoin is very high and most of the people invest their money in bitcoin. When the price of bitcoin increases Altcoin prices also increases, and when bitcoin prices decreases, Altcoin prices also decreases. I think it is not good and both should be treated differently. There should be no link between Altcoin and bitcoin.

Sure. There is a strong relationship between them. You can take easy decision if you see this coin relationship. ALT and BTC ratio decrease if ALT coin value drops and if BTC coin value goes up. Same things just opposite ALT and BTC ratio increase if ALT coins value increase and BTC coins value decreases. If you watch market daily or read the history for all coins than it will be so clear to understand.
I believe that altcoin price is always depending on th ebitcoin price. And we can all see it from the past few years. Bitcoin is really amazing it is the most popular and profitable coin and I believe that it is the center of the crypto market. So if bitcoin is falling the effect of it in altcoin and some other crypto coin is also a huge dip.
I don’t understand why these two coins (BTC % ALT) depend on each other? It should be different from each other because I think it should depend on the investment cap. If people put their money in bitcoin the price of only bitcoin should increase and if the investment cap of Altcoin increases only the price of Altcoin should increase.
Yes, BUT! There is still such a thing as bitcoin dominance. This is the dominance of bitcoin over other crypto currencies. Last time we see that bitcoin dominance is very large as a percentage of other altcoins. What does this mean? that investors believe more in bitcoin than in other assets.
Bitcoin is basically the parent of all the violas, respectively, and pulls the rest. But the problem lies also in the fact that bitcoin can rise from its knees, and some altkoins are no longer there.

It is not the Altcoin price will automatically to go with the Bitcoin price but it is the people who rides with the Bitcoin price movement. I don't know the main reason of this but i have observed many times that Bitcoin will create domino effect with the market price, maybe if most of the altcoins are directly accepted in all exchanges then maybe they will not rely on Bitcoin movement anymore.

Not for all-time, But most of the time altcoin price depends on the bitcoin price ups and down! If bitcoin price increases then all altcoin price will grow too, If BTC price goes down then the whole crypto market will show a downward trend. Because bitcoin is the ruler of the crypto market and crypto depends on the bitcoin.

Perhaps to some extent this is true, however, I believe that the prices of cryptocurrencies do not depend on the price of bitcoin.
