I believe it's super fascinating who is still around from years back - 'Syscoin' 'Nautilus coin' and so on. I am not in any case beyond any doubt of the inherent estimation of these tokens in the present market (Syscoin is an extremely essential savvy contract I think) however the groups behind them are pushing on in any case. I trust they are still here in 10 years time to demonstrate that not every person is here to make a quick buck - a few people are more considered.

First coins that have utilisations are are the exchange coins like BNB. Binance coin is doing well so far. ATH was around 20$like I can remember and now at the big drop it is around 11$. Not bad result to have honest. This coin shows a good market strategy of a strong exchange.

I think you truly need to search for a coin/token that has an utilization, coins made for exchanging will in the end bite the dust away.I like MYST as it has an incredible potential as the token can be utilized to purchase their VPN service.I figure any great organization with a sensible measure of tokens (not the millions some have) will make due as long as they get the undertaking to advertise and take after the whitepaper timescale, betting utilizing tokens may turn into the greatest utilization of all

Monero have great privacy option, many altcoins users like this. Litecoin is popular among just devoted users, therefore Litecoin future is not clear, it can survive if there will be new Litecoin users.

threads like this are proof that nobody can tell the future. so many people calling coins dead and now even with the big drop they are way higher than jan 2017 and not even close to "dead"

Can you name even a few coins that are now higher than in January 2017? At the same time, I agree that no one can predict the future, but it is easier to predict the trend.

I think ETH will be the most developed currency in the future because investors would love to invest in ICO projects as it brings a lot of profit and the foundation of ETH can create so many different Token so ETH Will be the longest existed altcoin

Based on what it has been seen among the wide array of altcoins such as development, innovation, and security issues, what altcoins might survive in the future?

In my opinion, I think that the only ones prone to survive would be good old altcoins such as Litecoin and Dogecoin, but I may be wrong.

Nevertheless, I would like to know your opinion about this as well as any altcoin that might be worth holding onto for the long term.  Grin
i am a strong believer in Eth. and long term you mean, 10-20 years or more? Wink i hope im not mistaken and i hope there'll be plenty of alts that survive, though

For crypto-currency projects and ICO, difficult times have come. Prices are falling, Internet giants limit traffic and advertising associated with digital currencies, trying to protect consumers. In the meantime, the authorities are only beginning to look at the advantages of the detachment.

in my opinion i will choose ethereum, zcash, and litecoin

The main problem is to determine this promising coin. And this, unfortunately, is quite difficult, and there is no universal advice on this matter. Therefore, we are acquainting you with our strengths with new crypto-currencies, which, according to experts, have every chance of success.

All the projects that care about the product, about their community and have solid team, have good chances to survive and achieve something.

I believe that many currencies can survive at the bottom of the marketcap at a fairly stable price, but probably have no utility at the end, I believe that a few coins like EOS, ETH, NEO, RIPPLE will survive, I think that's because they are usually currencies that have some real-life use and work or will work as a platform.

Liberated Forever. Domesticated Never.
I think that in the future, a lot of persistent altcoins will survive. For example Ethereum, NEO .

I concur. There are many altcoins in the cryptocurrency market right now, that are quite promising and deliver real usage to our world. Ethereum, NEO, Cardano, EOS, and several other cryptocurrencies will be here to stay for quite a long time. They have prominent development teams working every single day, to make them as robust and scalable than ever. For such reasons, they'll survive in the market no matter what.

As an exception, few altcoins which are abandoned in development like Dogecoin and Litecoin, will survive in the future, because they have supportive communities taking care of them every step of the way. However, other altcoins with better tech & features will emerge, making such coins look obsolete over time.

All in all, I think an altcoin will survive if it can keep up with the competition by providing development & innovation on a regular basis. Wink

There's only one that I know of: NANO

- Bitcoin based crypto currencies like Bitcoin cash, Litecoin, Ethereum..., have a few major issues, one being that their ledger keep growing, much faster than the Moore's Law and it can't be pruned. Also PoW is not sustainable and their fees and limited and slow will get them replaced by another technology.

- Most if not all aternatives to Ethereum (smart contracts coins), are not proven concepts and may fail.

- No comment about ICOs

- EOS centralization is a big issue

www.Crypto.Games: Multiple coins, multiple games
Well not so much those two... I have been recently following Stellar that is generally on the rise and the tokens issued on the Stellar platform - now there is a bump like in any cryptocurrency over the past few days, but generally Stellar is on the rise because of the prospective Coinbase listing and other advances. This will also boost tokens issued on the Stellar platform...

My most recent find among alts is AXU, "Argentas Exchange Unit" token issued on the Stellar platform and listed and verified on the Stellarport decentralized exchange, now only at its pre-distribution, or pre-ICO phase. A true hidden diamond, with low profile so far. Experienced people clearly, and cool tech for decentralizing and revolutionizing global banking - their website at argentas.io.

The pre-ICO price is 50% cheaper than the ICO price, a sure winner IMO, and I will certainly get some. They also have an ANN thread, I think here https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/xxx-4431900. I dug really deep in their content, and it is really cool stuff Grin But don’t forget your own research!

Stellar might survive in the future, especially when IBM has become interested in its technology. It's fast, cheap, and works virtually the same way as Ripple. If Coinbase lists Stellar (XLM) for trading, then its price would spike within a short time frame. All of this could mean that Stellar could survive in the future if there's enough demand for it within the cryptocurrency market.

I'm surprised to see a new token issued on the Stellar platform, as it could prove to become an alternative ICO platform to Ethereum. Things aside, I believe that many other prominent altcoins like Ethereum, Cardano, and Litecoin will survive in the future because they have great development teams and innovation. Just my opinion Smiley
