Today, there are more than 1,600 altcoins on the market. Surely, most of them will not survive, however, the leaders will gain a lot. I bet on Ethereum and NEO. I also think that Stellar, Qtum and Cardano will live for long.

Ethereum is the second most largest cryptocurrency by market cap, so it has higher chances of surviving for the long term than any other altcoin in existence. On the other hand, we got Ripple which is centralized but backed by banks which could lead to its survival for many years to come.

Good prospects have the fork of bitcoin - bitcoin cashe and bitcoin gold. Now they demonstrate excellent growth - 10-12% per day.

I think it's possible for altcoins to survive in the future because the idea of Internet of Things will need coins but Bitcoin is now having its disavantages so that it can't be the future's coin needed

As in any other process, the cryptocurrencies have their ups and downs. Projects are born and die. Only the most revolutionary will remain. I do not know what else I can say about this.

My opinion is dogecoin and eth although now eth is being pump i always hope the best for eth

In addition to these, dash is also a good option. Dash was originally known as Darkcoin. It is different from Bitcoin in one aspect, it offers more anonymity. Evan Duffeld is the person behind this coin and uses social media sites for promoting his coin. A lot of people have invested in Dash because of its unique features and have also made decent profit with it. It is recommended by a lot of people in crypto related forums.

Why Deeponion and doge is can I ask? Doge it's just a meme coin and deeponion is just a random coin with transactions via ToR which I believe that isn't really anonymous, or else there's no reason to develop protocols like zk-snarks and ringCT, don't you think?

Based on what it has been seen among the wide array of altcoins such as development, innovation, and security issues, what altcoins might survive in the future?

In my opinion, I think that the only ones prone to survive would be good old altcoins such as Litecoin and Dogecoin, but I may be wrong.

Nevertheless, I would like to know your opinion about this as well as any altcoin that might be worth holding onto for the long term.  Grin
I think Altcoin might survive until the future of Ethereum and Litecoin. I love these two coins because the development is very good and the price will be very high later. I believe that in the future Ethereum and Litecoin will surely be the most sought. Hopefully, my predictions are not wrong.

Why do you think that Litecoin will survive in the future? What does it offer that Bitcoin doesn't offer?
Seriously can you answer this question? Because I really don't get it, it's just btc but with less developers / support and just more supply

Yes, Altcoins is supposed to be a great coin of the future, in which there are now a lot of people who want to invest in virtual currencies to receive their account returns, but now the scam level Increasingly on the market should put a lot of pressure on the current investors.

Several coins will definitely survive. Especially those with viable projects like Corl. I also have belief in Elementh as they will generate a lot of demands from ecommerce companies. Another notable mention I feel will survive and do well is Lisk coin.

I read that practical quantum computers will be available in 2 years. Blockchain will not be secure anymore, so I think coins based on DAG are gonna survive.

Well, cryptocurrencies have been improving themselves at a fast pace with their constant development and innovation. Since many in the blockchain sector are aware of quantum computing attacks, they're devising solutions to protect their cryptocurrency networks. Some altcoins like QRL (Quantum Resistant Ledger) and Nexus have taken a step ahead of implementing countermeasures against such attacks. Therefore, I believe that most cryptocurrencies will make the switch towards a quantum-resistant algorithm before it’s too late. On the other hand, DAG-based coins are highly scalable and efficient but I'm not sure if they would be able to stand the test of time in terms of their security against quantum attacks or other issues. But, if they're secure, then they might resist quantum attacks just like other cryptocurrencies that'll make the switch.

Therefore, major altcoins within the top cryptocurrency rankings will most likely survive within the future. Their prominent development teams and community dedication will keep them going and stand the test of time by overcoming any obstacle within their path. One good example is Ethereum where many thought that it was going to die because of the DAO hack, but now it has emerged stronger than ever. As such, any altcoin can survive in the future if there are people backing it. Just my opinion Smiley

If you want to know which coins survive in the future what you basically have to do is to observe their development and management teams 1. thoroughly at first glance and 2. over the course of time.

indeed not all coins are suitable for the long term. because each coin has a different development. The selling to maintain the development is very difficult. so it must work hard and compete. I'm more sure Ethereum and Ripple are quite capable.

Yes i believe this altcoins will survive in the future and continuing to spread their wings. But it depends on their ability to have a good status in a market and to protect their popularity and we all know these altcoins has a lot of potentials to stay strong for many many years thats why they are developing fast
