pump and dumps of 2014 were inevitable in an unregulated environment.

I mined VTC since block one. It had a 3rd largest traded volume few days ago. Switching algo, fair distribution, close to 0% premine. Welcome to my ignore list.

Since getting involved with cryptocurrency, Bitcoin has always been the goto.  Dogecoin is the ALT that got me involved and seems to beopne of the only strong alts with aw community to support it... Also decent merchant interation.  And Vericoin, the team behind the coin seem to actually care and work towards mainstream adoption..

I see strong alts as marketing for Bitcoin in the end. But I have faith in Dogecoin and VRC as well. Sometimes it seems counterproductive to be marketing new ALT coins with all these features when nobody understands bitcoin.  Alt's seem to appeal to daytraders and the niche market of those already bitcoin ready.

I dont think altworld is dead. There are lots of features that while they won't likely be adopted in the coins that create them, they do contribute to the overall potential of crypto

Altcoins are not dead but it's hard to get rich quick from those (except if you are a good developer with a real talent in marketing)...

People have been thinking that crypto-history can repeat itself through an altcoin but the reality is that pretty much everything is pegged to the fate of bitcoin...

Now let's face the REAL truth:
Most people in the Altcoin scene are heavily invested with money and they don't want to be any broker than they are already from never ending price crashes.
Bag holder's are deceitful liars.
People who run Pools or Exchanges etc are going to bullshit as much as they can so they still make fee's etc.

What i would like to know is people's active project involvement and what coins they hold before listening to stupid rhetoric..
but since we have a scene built on anonymity and anon coins and hiding and using fake names to post endless currencies (1,000+) it won't happen.
let's see if newbie's fall for the account creation circle jerk more.. so far it seem no it's not working they are not dumb and see through it.

I think Doge coin was the nail in the coffin by the way.

Doesn't look dead to me looks very much alive and some coins are thriving even in difficult times a lot of these coins are going to be worth more than Bitcoin the btc as been falling .

Alt coins are not related to Bitcoin directly.....if they come to this forum they will most likely read the bitcoin discussion.

You know? Exactly this kind of threads do most of harm, even to Bitcoin.
A complete outsider who would like to see what's bitcoin and cryptocurrency about, will do a google search and most likely will come here.
What will it see? Fight between the coins and scam accusations. And gambling and a lot of Ponzi attempts. Lovely image, isn't it?

Now let's face the truth:
Altcoins are GREAT! Some of them bring innovation, some of them have great communities, some rise, some fall. Some are scams too. Some will die soon, some will die later, some will prevail.
Bitcoin has the advantage of being the first. Still, bitcoin may learn from them, bitcoin may accept them, bitcoin may evolve. Or may die too.
It's a free world.

Unfortunately you have right. There is few altcoin with a lot of new functions. Litecoin is just an old one and have some trust, but this is maybe most important.

Spoken like someone holding a lot of Litecoins.

Litecoin has nothing over Bitcoin. 4 times faster and thats it.

Some altcoins will thrive but Litecoin itself will fade away slowly and become irrelevant.

THIS is why we can't have nice things...

I think altcoin world is not dead, but now it is very hard time to do good investment.
We must take a deep breath. 

All the volume is down atm. It will be interesting to see where it flows back into.
