Hello everyone,

It's been a week now since I eventually create my account on this forum but yet to understand anything at all and believe I have tried my best to read some of things or article but the whole site is a little confusing so I thought many seniors here could guide me and direct on what and how to go about everything.

This is one of the problems that newcomers face in bitcointalk forum. Whenever they visit the forum, they would be excited to join the conversation but once they drop once or twice a topic they will not return to reply the responses on that very topic. For a very short time, they might lose interest in the whole discussion and when it's continuous for some times they will gradually lose interest in the whole system. But if they persist for weeks and give such a good amount of their time to the forum, they will enjoy it later.
It's a gradual process and we've all being there and think we should cut him/ her some slack, I could Remember my first time here, funny enough same thing actually happened to me as I droped my and also abandoned my account because of the lack of understanding and I even also forgot my login details not until mid year last year when I now decided to log in back and recover my password and again still abandoned because at that time I was very lazy to follow up with discussion likw you said and aslo feeling lost everytime I log in but when the time was right I never relented in my learning and I actually saw the improvement that in when you actually work hard.

Welcome to Bitcointalk, I believe you are the right forum to learn BTC but you need to research by yourself to know more about BTC so that you will enjoy what those that acquired BTC skills are enjoying in the society. I will advise you to take your time to study the rules of Bitcointalk so that you will not feel bad when they give you the punishment you deserve for disobeying a particular rules in the forum because, each rule has is own punishment that will be giving to anyone that disobey such rules. Read more books that contain cryptocurrencies every day, if truly you want to improve higher like legendary in the forum which they are the highest rank in the Bitcointalk and they are talented bitcoiners that has so much to impact to those that are ready to learn cryptocurrencies in the forum.

Following the bitcointalk forum rules is important for your growth. Start from reading pinned threads and after you are familiar with it then you can start doing your own research. If you want to find a thread then I think you may find what you are looking for. This thread is created by Ratimov which is a compilation of different threads posted here in Beginners & Help board. Anyway, here's the thread and I hope this would be helpful for you https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/--5364418.

Hello Ebiokpobo!
I can totally see how Bitcointalk might be a head-scratcher if you are new to online forums. Have you ever used Reddit, for example? It is kinda like that. You pick a board on the main page that interests you (the names are usually self-explanatory), then you check out the latest topics and dive into whatever catches your eye. If you are not interested in a topic, just go back and pick another.  If you are looking for something specific, you can use the built-in search tool or, as already suggested, give Google a shot. When you find a topic you wanna chime in on or ask about, hit up Reply or Quote. That is pretty much it - you will pick up the rest as you go. Don't hesitate to ask if there is anything you are still unsure about.

You are welcome. Op all what you have to do is to read bitcoin materials inside and outside so you can comprehend what is going on here. Others have told you want you can do and just follow their instructions. And also ask questions like this when you are confused. Read more to understand other people posts and manage to make comments on them and from there you can be learning gradually to master the forum. It is a gradual process because it is a vast forum.

And another thing you have to do is to focus on one Board or more board you are familiar. If you don't know anything about bitcoin but you can discuss things like political then you can go there https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=34.0 and discuss political things there and if it is Economic then there https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=7.0 and if you don't know any of the above mentioned boards then you can go to your local board for proper discussion and from there, you ask questions and later you can come out to the public boards when you have understand many things in the local board.

I'm not sure if you are new to crypto either, but this forum definitely helps.
If you have any questions just ask or try to find out more information on youtube.
If you are from some non-english country, try to get more help on native-local sub forum below.

Hope this helps!  Grin

Here is the best place below for help and guides:

You truly advise him to conduct a search Cheesy Cheesy I mean with pictures. He is not that dumb. Well, still, you really make your point, and I was also going to suggest to the OP that he should use the search option, but the hurdle is that sometimes one does not know what he or she should search for in the search bar.

Instead, they just type what is actually coming to their mind, and those things might not help them.

The only advice I have for the OP is to first make up your mindset, e.g., why are you here, what do you want to search for, and what topic do you want to learn about? Many people just have the wrong mindset about this platform, like thinking it is a freelancing platform to make money. Let me correct or assure you that this is a forum just like any other forum, but this one is related to BTC and ATLs, and many other types of things are discussed here.

You should learn the basics of BTC and ALTs first, how transactions are made, what exactly is blockchain, and how you can do that. You have to engage in many of the topics you see here. You should visit the following websites:
Bitcoin Discussions:
Beginners and Help
Trading Discussions
Economics
Meta
etc. These threads will teach you enough, but if you are a technical person, there are many other sections available in the first Board of BTC discussion that you could join."

It will take some time for you to fully understand how the forum works. That's why you don't need to rush to start posting because you need to learn how the forum works. If you are new in the Bitcoin space, you need to dedicate more time to learning about the coin so that you can make quality contributions to the forum. The forum has so much information that's why it has the search sections for you to get all the information you need. The forum has different boards that will interests you, visit those boards and ensure you read the rules. You can find the rules at the top of each board. If you put much effort, within a short time your knowledge about bitcoin and forum will improve. Welcome mate.

Welcome mate to the forum and I also understand the early confusion you are going through because I also faced same problem. At first the forum will look like neverending vast land of write up and which as a newbie will look very strange and confusing at first but I can assure that there is nothing to be confused about just as many seniors have directed use the search engine for anything you feel you want to ask about and confused about and am sure some newbie like your self must have stated something similar then from there you read and equip yourself more but be sure to keep all rule concerning the forum during your time here.

You cannot do everything at once. I have been here for the last 2 years and do not know a lot of things. I am learning day by day. All you have to understand about this forum is that it is a cryptocurrency-related discussion forum where you can share your opinions and learn from other people's topics.

The best thing I like about this platform is that the content is so original and unique, which means there is no plagiarism. You could also share your insights about something, and if you do not understand anything in anyone's topic, you could ask them by making a reply. Or you could ask about that thing by making another topic, but it is not advised.

Other than these learning things, we could also make some money on this forum, as there are many bounty, faucet, review, and signature companies, and by joining them, you could make some money too. But to do that, you are a long way behind.

Okay, so I have been suggesting new users to search before posting but now, I would ask them to use Google Search using Dorks instead of Bitcointalk's own search feature.
What is Google Dork?: Google dorking is a passive attack or hacking method involving the use of a custom query.

Here are some examples of Google Dorking:
- site:bitcointalk.org "username"
- site:bitcointalk.org "topic title"

Good Luck!

First of all, I wish to welcome you to the forum, and let you know that "bitcointalk" is not rocket science, that is hard for any individual not to understand. However, it's okay to get confused within the first week of your introduction to this new environment, because as time goes on, you are likely to get used to it and learn new things just as you just learned how to create a thread and post.
For me, I call "bitcointalk" an encyclopedia of all any individual needs to know about Bitcoin, as it covers all aspects of Bitcoin (i.e. history of Bitcoin, learning of Bitcoin & discussion of Bitcoin-related topics), together with the ability to connect you with like-minded Bitcoin enthusiast all around the world.

It's weird that you didn't read the sticky thread here in this section as a newbie you should read them because all newbies needs are already on sticky threads sample this thread "Newbies - Read before posting".

I have question is your purpose why are you here? Why you are confused?

It would be better if you could tell us why you are confused and about everything that you like to know.
If it's all about the forum then the link I provided above should be the right thread for you.

If you can create this post then you are understanding a bit about the forum already and making some progress. It takes a while to get used to how the forum functions for someone not used to forums at all.

The help section at the top icons helps a lot to get one familiar with forum features and other basic pointers they will need, also use the search option and you will be good to go for a start here.

Follow the other links provided here and take your time to get used to o everything.

Just as the first comment from Nwada001 posit, you may not get all you need to know about the forum from whatever helpful  tips old members might give you. So make use of the search button option at the right top corner of your screen and every information you need will be easily accessible to you in avoidance of creating repetition posts of already asked questions (spam threads).

You can read these threads below while you also use the search option button.
