Like most sexual species, the sex ratio in humans is approximately 1:1. The sex ratio at birth is commonly thought to be 107 boys to 100 girls, although this value is subject to debate in the scientific community. The sex ratio for the entire world population is 101 males to 100 females.

You could actually be right about females being a larger market than males, I'm not sure. If anybody would like to share info on the subject, I'd appreciate it.

I don't think Bitcoin excludes females in any way. What makes you think it does?

It is true. There will be less and less male children in the future. It will be female era in the near future. Bitcoin does not discriminate anyone. But I think women tend to follow stereotypes more that they want to admit therefore we do not see them often in the bitcoin world.

Shame theres not a way to ignore a thread I guess.  If  ignoring a forum profile it should ignore their threads started too ideally
By largest market I mean the majority of humans are female, it does seem a way to shoot yourself in the foot if excluding the majority from the start off.  I see Bitcoin as a startup still and the word still needs to get out, mostly its speculative or hype to many not practical as such

Click the unwatch button and your problems are solved.

You better hope theres women using bitcoin or its not likely to succeed. Pretty sure women are the largest market on earth for any product or potential marketplace.   Its a reasonable thread to stay open, all the moaning does is just bump it some more otherwise it'd be on page 10 by now and not read most likely

I'm not watching this thread, and no, that sounds wrong (largest market)

I'm a girl. I was beginning to think I was the only one!

If I ever want a loan on BTCJam I am going to use a big hairy man for an avatar. Or maybe a pic of a monster or something.

Actually I have a female friend staying at the moment, and she knows more about hash rates, crypto coins and mining than I do. She has never been on a BTC forum, but knows someone who used to mine. She just bought some BTC off me.

We went to try out at BTC ATM too, nearby, and the guy there said he had seen ladies with mixed gender groups and people from the groups were using the machine, but hadn't noticed if any of the females did.

It used to be like this back in the mid nineties. I was the first female to be using the BBS I used, but gradually, they started showing up.

I've always felt welcome, even back in those days. The attitude seemed to be slight surprise, nothing more. Early adopters of anything tend to be smarter than average, and I am still friends with many of the people I met on that BBS. Now we meet on Facebook.

Hi welcome to the thread from hell Smiley haha jk. If you need an avatar you can use the fat guy holding the grapes, everyone seems to like it Smiley x

You're spamming to prevent spamming? Give it up, seriously, it's annoying.

I'm not spamming.

Why do you feel the need to defend her? It's not like you'll ever have any chance with her or even get to meet her. This is exactly the reason why I suggest this thread be locked.

I'm not defending her, I'm being annoyed at your spam and now this thread is being bumped because you've decided you have to argue with me.

If you consider my posts spam, then what is this? (just citing it as an example, no offense intended to the poster Smiley)

A sexy photo of fabiola!  Wink

Surely you don't consider this a quality post to gauge the interest of bitcoins, advance gender equality in the cryptocurrency sphere etc etc do you? You're just picking on me because you don't want this thread (started by a girl!) to be closed.

LOL. I seriously doubt there is ONE quality post in this entire thread, but I make ONE post in here and you use mine as an example?

Also, I don't get why you desire this (or any) thread closed. If you don't like a thread, don't visit it. It's that simple. It looks to me as though YOU LOVE THIS thread, since you barely miss a chance to post here. If anything it's YOU who won't let it die, by keeping it alive with your posts.  Roll Eyes

Yeah, like I said, no offense intended. It was just the first post I saw that wasn't necessarily related to bitcoin.

I get it's a joke though, no worries man Smiley

Wet blanket Smiley chill, we're all just chatting, why does it bother you so much? I started the thread and it doesn't bother me if ppl go off topic, in fact most of the threads on here seem to go off topic sooner or later.

Okay, it's great you recognize the problem. You can easily fix it, you know.

He's not trolling, if little things bother you then that's your problem not ours Smiley Smiley

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Troll_(Internet)

Quote
In Internet slang, a troll is a person who sows discord on the Internet by starting arguments or upsetting people, by posting inflammatory, extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community (such as a newsgroup, forum, chat room, or blog) with the deliberate intent of provoking readers into an emotional response or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion.

That's exactly what he says he is intending to do.

This thread IS within an off-topic area hence your argument is invalid. #VOID. Smiley Smiley

No, I'm still right. What Lethn describes himself doing is trolling, by definition.

Dank was recently perma-banned, and many of his posts were in Off-Topic. Your opinion is the invalid one.
