Guys, with about 5K to invest is there a specific exchange that is clearly better than the others? I’ve done a fair bit of research on the ‘main’ ones and none of them seem to be too great when taking into account fees and issues when depositing funds or withdrawing...

2018 is going to be a great year for cryptocurrencies. If you can, investing now would be a really good decision, in my opinion. Maybe wait for a local dip before you get in, or keep buying in smaller amounts to dollar cost average (google it if you're not familiar with the concept).

Actually I feel pretty much about the same about cryptocurrencies, not sure how it will be in 10 years or 3 years regarding cryptos but with all this hype made for sure 2018. would be good year to be in the field.

This is also a solid advice to with smaller amounts on the very start and spread while learning.

Hey guys. Finally decided to get me some coins. I have about 10k to spare. any recommendations?

If you mean you have $10,000 then that's wonderful. You still have a chance to earn big on that investment. Imagine in 2018 BTC will reach $20,000 - $50,000. You will multiply you money more. So I will just say good luck to you. But you a lot of choices to invest on your money. Just learn and study more about crypto.

Yes, it's true that you still have a big chance to earn by investing because a lot expect 2018 to be profitable. The recent attention given over bitcoin all throughout social media has made a good impact, and would contribute towards better growth this incoming year.

It would also be good to check out other tokens and coins that are worth investing in out there. Just make sure that you research on it first so that you may choose which one would be best investing on. There are a lot, and others may be a hit or a miss.

Posting this since you asked for a recommendation. It is your call. You may want to visit www.p2psf.org and review the information on the website and study the whitepaper for greater details. The P2PS ICO starts Dec 15.

Following is an opinion about the P2PS utility token from one of the industry leaders associated with Blockchain and Bitcoin since its very early days.

Sean Brizendine, on Dec 10 2017, while comparing P2PS token to Bitcoin stated that "the speculators are jumping ship. It could go all the way back down to $1000 and stay there for 5 years before we see $25k. This is why the best investments are in real startups like P2Ps Tokens. The average person can invest in a Bitcoin and loose or invest the same amount in P2Ps Tokens. They have to invest in Multiple Bitcoin to show any real returns where the average person puts $15k in P2Ps Tokens they will see each unit rise and be able to play a part in making that happen by utilizing the Network and building up more tokens."

Sean Brizendine is a Blockchain Specialist and Advisory Board Member of several successfully funded ICOs. Sean Brizendine's profile on LinkedIn https://www.linkedin.com/in/sean-brizendine-a71634b8

If you have 10000$. It's better to buy ethereum. 2018 is the year of ethereum Smiley
Buying bitcoin next year wont give you alot of profit. It might increase in value but not twice its base.
Best of luck
As you mentioned, I agree with you on this issue. I also think that Ethereum would be a good potential in future. So far I know that Ethereum has been using for the upcoming token transaction and in this way, the popularity of this system is increasing day by day.
Now come to the point of this thread, I strongly suggest you enter this platform within a short time, I can't say that you are late but day by day the market is becoming very competitive and faster. so don't be late anymore.

You would better find out about projects yourself. It will be more effective than to follow the points of view of different unfamiliar people.

I'm inclined to invest in ETC, although the etheric classics have been heated in a heated debate last year. But I don't think this is a scrap chain. Many of its miners are supporting it. I think next year is a real centralization year, and the classic of the classics is centralization. So now let's go to this party, my friend.

It's never too late or too early to invest in Bitcoin Or altcoin. You should have a balanced portfolio. Will BTC outperform the stock market over the next 20 years? If you think so, then it is obviously not too late at all

I think you should invest on some tokens, you can earn alot by doing that. but just be careful about it, do some reading before doing some investment so you will not be scammed, also I suggest for you to ask someone that has already an experience in trading and acquire some knowledge and skills with them. Also you can do sig camp and bounty as an additional income.

Of course you are not too late, welcome aboard! My opinion is to place 40% in Bitcoin and to split the remaining 60% between Ethereum, Litecoin, Iota and Electroneum.

Yes , Here you are late but not too much late to enter in this field of cryptocurrency because about 1 year ago the advantage of investment in the Bitcoin was not much profitable that is in the current time so if you can invest your money in cryptocurrency today then you can make profit more speedly then what you will be able to get in the past .
But here you should kept in your mind that it is a type of trading where you can close your money as well as make bulk amount of profit .
Currently the best option to save your money in cryptocurrency is to buy Bitcoin and hold in your wallet and if you want make additional profit then wait for the stability in the market of Bitcoin and then use that amount of Bitcoin which you have for the trading with altcoins .
