Fun with math... Why 25% pos kicked so much ass. So imagine we are starting off on 1-1-2016 with exactly 100k coins. End of the year staking figures would look like:
2016- 102487.867
2017- 103611.503
2018- 104177.937
2019- 104700.127
2020- 105226.377
2021- 105753.823
2022- 106042.503
2023- 106307.940
2024- 106574.771

100k coins @ 25% for 93 days= 106574.792  9 years of staking in just over 3 months. It was great while it lasted

*figures reflect leap years and pos changes on Feb 3 of each year... and assumes wallet is open 24/7 for staking

Wow. New wallet already? Way to go! This is really great. I'm so glad I'm holding this coin. It pays out dividends and it looks like it will continue to survive for the next years. Price is really cheap right now, and it would be the perfect time for me to buy more and become a shareholder. By the way, I was thinking if it was possible to stake Ambercoin with my Raspberry Pi 2?  Smiley

I have already compiled the Amber wallet for RPi2, you can snag it from github.com/StakeBox/AmberCoin. You should be able to drop it into Rasbian wheezy or jessie and be done.

This is so great. Thanks a lot for sharing this with me. Luckily, I would be able to set this up on my Raspberry Pi 2 in just a matter of a few minutes. Time for me to start staking for fresh new Amber!  Cheesy

I think that maybe they are talking about how you do with the shareholders doc or even about how many persons bought them (and how many becamed shareholders) and the average that was sold offline to each person

i got a pi2 comming in this week, it comes with a preloaded Sd cardwith Noobs software. i was planning on running 2-3 staking wallets on it 24/7. i think a linux amber wallet is required unless you run windows on the pi2? anyone else using the pi2 for their amber wallet currently? what OS if so? excuse my noobness, i don't see that there is a linux version of the wallet

I've tried to compile one on Ubuntu, in fact if I could get it working on Ubuntu I would have ALL the more reason to ditch windows completely.  I'm not a coder just a self learning coderesque geek.  Love crypto Love Ambercoin.  I bought it as a joke/love token to my wife Amber.  I was buying all kinds of crypto at the time.  I bought Amber-coin and told her look I bought your coin, LOL.  Then I did research like I do with all the crypto's I spend money on, and lo and behold Ambercoin is the Diamond in the Rough. My long term investment that pays dividends (patently waiting) in the best currency in the world Bitcoin.

I'm sure someone smarter than me has gotten Ambercoin to work on Ubuntu.

Please if anyone could post some help that would be great.

I've tried this and couldn't get it to work, I'm not that good with ubuntu though.

https://github.com/AmberCoinDev/Amber/blob/master/doc/readme-qt.rst

the current wallet works fine on a raspberry 2.
the pi never got too hot with 2 running wallets 24h/7days but i use additional passive aluminium coolers.
i use raspbian as os, its debian based like ubuntu.

there is a step by step tutorial how to install a other wallet on a pi:
https://www.reddit.com/r/blackcoin/comments/23a0do/the_blacknode_because_every_blackcoin_counts/

you just need to change a bit from blackcoin to ambercoin.
dl amber wallet with:
Code:
git clone https://github.com/AmberCoinDev/Amber

the commands are the same if you want use a ubuntu machine.
just press command+alt then t
for open a terminal there.

Meanwhile today Round #6 and Round#7 were sold out!
Current Round is #8 - 250,000 Amber at 21,400sat (0.07$)

Good news indeed.
But could some explain to me, why people buy directly from the company over 500.000 amber, while there are almost no trades on the exchanges.
I'm also a bit confused with the prices. If I remember it right round 6 was already @21400.
If you buy your Coins directly from the company you can sell them back for the same price you paid and dont have to bother with exchanges.

Well, that is clear and I do agree with you. But, somewhere every investor try to get cheap in....
If they were just 1-2 investors that spent >100 BTC for the shares and did not want to bother themselves with the 10BTC on the buy wall, it is understandable. If they were more I think it is strange to have nothing on the exchanges. I personally, would try to buy as much as possible from the market end increase the price that will be good also for my investment. Sure, less guarantee but possibly higher profit (again would be the case just for "small" investors playing with few BTC).
Anyway, lets hope the best and see what will happen.
Cheers!
i agree with you.if i will put like 10k euro at least for like 1k from market so i will clear cheap ambers. it effect my cost also it will push the market up levels.now with 9 btc also market price raises to 20k. after that i dont think anyone will dump back to 7-8k

Oh man, the day the news about the paid dividen happen. The market price will skyrocket like crazy I can't wait to see how amber will reach the moon.

the best thing with amber is, these big holders coins will never get into the market and never cause any dumping because if they want out  they can sell them back to amber!

Good to know, and anyway remember that now yobit maybe will need to know of the mandatory update because now they created a page for updates/forks

P.s. for this time i let blacksmith notice the update but consider it a reminder before somebody starts complains about problems at trading amber at yobit
