here what I have done, and yes sometime with AMD a little thing can screw up everything

1. installed my 2 gpu
2. installed windows
3. installed amd driver
4. on the next reboot disable StartCN or each time you boot, you have to kill the AMD software CTRL-ALT-DEL and kill the red Radeon icon
5. install amd tweak
6. install afterburner reboot
7. first thing i do in windows is:
   7.1 run and apply tweak
7.2 run afterburner to set the fan and apply only once
   7.3 start miner

other step that could be perform is to install windows update and windows tweak to previous reboots sleeps... etc.

Also, as mention below, a bunch and I say it agian a bunch of driver didn't work for me.

hope that will help

I have windows and I am getting zero results from tweak except for the basic clock settings.  Every time I try one of the recommended timings on here absolutely nothing happens.  I just input them an click the apply button right? Or am I missing something.  Could use some help and can’t get this figured out.

Hi,

I thought that maybe I could share my settings and asked a question in the same time. Smiley This computer is used only for storage and I run 2 Vega 56 with 64 BIOS in it to mine and I am getting 50.77Mh and 50.67 Super stable.

Question 1: I do not have the option in AMD Memory tweak to set the Fan speed.
Question 2: My Vega Memory goes to 73C. Is this high? when it will start throttling? or when it's bad?

My VEGAs 56 are running 64 BIOS

I have also had a lot of problem with AMD drivers and here are the one that worked for me:

17.11.4
17.12.2
18.1.1
18.2.2

Can somebody explain to me WTF is going on with my GPUS? Tongue

so using teamredminer latest version while having my vega 64 (nitro+) on stock bios  core1100@ 820mV mem 1100 @ 850 mV

with memory timings cl 22 ras 35 rcdwr 12// rcab 44 rcpb 44 // rrds rrdl 5// faw 20 //REF 17550//RFC 247

I get 51Mh/s @ about 140 watts.

When I downgrade my bios to a vega 56 one (so from vega 64 TO vega 56, not the other way arround!)

1) the memory timings mentioned above dont work

2) this memory timings work 0 --RAS 26 --RCDRD 13 --RCDWR 12 --RC 38 --RP 12 --RRDS 3 --RRDL 5 --RTP 6 --FAW 12 --CWL 8 --WTRS 4 --WTRL 9 --WR 14 --REF 20600 --RFC 244

and with the above ("2") and core at 1100 810Mv and mem 1045 @ 82Mv The damn thing runs at 55Mh/s while consuming less power!!!

unfortunately I cant got more than 1045 though (despite when being on vega 64 bios I cat get easilty to 1100)

but the question is HOW DOES THIS WORK? can anybody give me a kinda technical explanation as to why with a downgraded bios + slower mem frequency the GPU performs so much better ?

Can I make it even better?

Is there a way to adjust the clock/mem/voltage from the command line? Unless ive missed it, I only see it in the GUI?

Thanks

Ok I got some help and found out there was an issue with HiveOS and Vegas using TRM and amdmemtweak.  It got fixed on the back end for me and supposedly goes out in an update soon.  Changed hash rate significantly so it's much more in line with expectations.  Figured I'd give my ending values in case they help anyone else.

amdmemtweak –CL 20 --RAS 26 --RCDRD 12 --RCDWR 12 --RC 38 --RP 12 --RRDS 3 --RRDL 5 --RTP 6 --FAW 12 --CWL 8 --WTRS 4 --WTRL 9 --WR 13 --REF 12000 --RFC 239

I'm at 46 Mh/s on my RX Vega 56 Samsung with stock bios and downclocked 940mhz core, 850mv, 950mhz mem.  Pulling 1020 watts from the wall with a 6 GPU rig.
[/Same thing here, I have an Asus vega 64, and I can not log in to TRM, contacted support and they said it is a hardware problem from my side!

Would you please share how did you fix it.]

I have a Sapphire Vega 56 Hynix and im getting 52mhs stable with these memory straps.

Also you first need to apply the memory straps and only raise the memory clocks.

Your Core and Memory Control are way out of desired values. Try P7 1150/850 and P3 940/825 first, than try to play with timings.

EDIT: Huh, also decrease temp limits or upper fan curve keeping memory temp in 60-65 degrees range.

Wow, the P7 and P3 settings pushed it to 42 MH/s! Thanks a lot!

I have no idea what to try in timings, as i dont understand the technical background. Any suggestions?

42...

Non modded vega56 on mmpos....53.19mhs core 1090 / mem 1020 / vlt 0.835  130watts.
should be 54.9mhs 1100/1026@787mv @ 112watts ...
sadly all my gpus cannot under 856mv and maxout at 50.5 lol, with ambient room temperature at 33C,  quite warm, some gpus already burned componen because fan short

atleast pretty stable, the most stable gpus i ever had

Nice, but you should get on the TeamRedMiner train. (follow their latest tuning guide)

My Vega56 hashes more (50MH) and consumes 10W less. (850mV on AMDMemtweak, 825mV on HWinfo).

Where is that tuning guide? I want to try it!

check your radeon settings as Crossfire might be enabled. Have it disabled and re-run your miner.

would be nice to see GDDR6 support.

ELIOVP IS KEEPING IT PRIVATE--

He has been asked in the recent past.  If you have a large enough farm and income, you may be able to reach an agreement with him.

Hi guys,
I would like to know if it is possible to use it like overdriveNtool where you are able to load profiles for each gpu via batch file. I have a saved profiles from amd mem tweak as well but I do not know how to automate that.
Thank you
