Nice, catchy tune.

Did you make that?

Something I threw together last night.

The tune is from some royalty free music package that I purchased and downloaded at some point in the past 3 or so years.

The images are from morguefile.com - a cool place for free royalty free images. No sign-up.

If anyone wants to fool around with banners, memes, videos, etc.:

The hash for the green color used in the OctoCoin logo is #56B71D - or so photoshop color match tells me.

The Octocoin font is Exo-2. Do a search for it... It's a free font.

Amazing what just a simple new wallet can do to the price.

What will happen when the major developments are announced?

ALL IN!
Damn, makes me wish I had pulled from BTC cold storage instead of dropping 50k Octo to pay the electric ...lol

I don't know if selling some Octos to buy a new power adaptor to keep on mining or waiting till it's fixed in 1-2 weeks when nearly no Bonusblocks are left... -.- I don't have BTC. All In here.

If you can convince them to pay it out you can have the 3000+ that FusionHash owe me  Grin

Haha, no, thx, i wouldn't take it, it's yours Grin
I think i'll buy a cheaper one till they fixed it, I'm addicted to getting Octos into my wallet.  Grin

Once everybody is updated to the new source, your transaction will likely be pushed through. If it isn't, FusionHash will make sure you are taken care of. I have personally asked them specifically about your issue and, with your transaction being stuck in their wallet, they would have to briefly take the pool offline to completely remove it - they would prefer to wait until updating to the new client since they will have to briefly go offline for that anyway. Since launch, FusionHash has overpaid 150,000+ OctoCoins - we have studied the blockchain and concluded this is accurate. I understand the frustration of waiting around - your issue should be resolved soon.
Thanks for all the new information. As you can see, the mood has improved  Grin. Can't wait to see what's next. Not blinking!

I was going to hold out for the Win64 wallet, but everyone was talking about how cool the new wallet was that I broke down and downloaded the Win32.

Nice wallet... Can't wait to see what else is in the works for it.

I can vouch for FusionHash making me whole a month or so ago when I had a stuck transaction, and they made sure everything was correct. They could have stolen the 85,000 888, but they and the developers are honest people.

The delay on the new client is due to us having to strip out a number of custom features that were not ready for production. As the features are quite innovative, we did not want to simply comment them out in the source and give away too much information and/or allow the features to be "borrowed" before we even launch them. We ended up creating a completely separate branch and things are rolling along.

The fork will replace the bonus blocks with steady 188 coin blocks throughout the remainder of the bonus phase. Also, a new difficulty formula will kick in that adjusts every block to help smooth out the network. The fork begins at block 75,888 - that means we need to get everybody updated before the weekend is over. It isn't as much notice as we'd like but we felt it was important enough that it needed to be fast-tracked. The new source will be put up on GitHub tomorrow and we will begin reaching out to all of the pool operators and exchanges that will need to update their clients before block 75,888.

For those of you on Windows that want to get a jump on things, here is the download for the new 32-bit Windows-QT client:

OctoCoin 1.8 w/ 75888 fork [Windows-QT]

This is complete with the fork that kicks in at block 75,888 and will run fine until then as well. It is built on top of the upcoming Bitcoin 0.9.2 source. Once the new OctoCoin source is public, we will follow with the 64-bit Windows-QT and Mac wallets. We will release the windows installers later - for now, we're keeping it simple.

By EOD, all nodes will be updated and ready for the fork. Will update the main post and provide updates throughout the day.

Thanks for the update again guys!
New wallet looks slick!!!!

All I am saying is that we can do things on our own. We do not have to rely on the devs for the applications/websites for this coin. Community driven effort is what has made BitCoin, LiteCoin, and DogeCoin successful, not what their developers did.

Anything that the devs come up with will be added perks to increase the use and demand for OctoCoin, if the community creates a need for Octos.

And yes... the wallet update would be nice.  Wink

While I want to agree with this statement. The devs need to set a foundation and kick things into gear before the community can develop its own projects, services, etc.

I would have to be a ballsy mother with no fear of losing thousands of fiat to be able to open a business that runs on Octo, It is just not a reality at this point, seeing as we have no real volume that could come close to replicating a stable payment processor, a small community meaning no real "market", and no real credibility behind Octo as of yet.

As with everything cryptocurrency related - it is a gamble. However, making informed decisions is key to success.

Nobody is making you mine or buy OctoCoin, therefore there is no need to spread FUD without actual proof of anything.

@Edric

You still enjoy pizza, or has making it on a daily basis diminished your love for it? Cheesy

Still love pizza, but can't really cope with certain kinds, like Little Caesar's.. After making 30-40 gallons of sauce every day, it gets really old.. Just thinking about their sauce gives me heartburn. Give me stuff to make homemade pizza, though, and it's on!

Getting some of the final touches done on the Octo casino, but I'm going to hit the hay early tonight. Tomorrow It's getting switched on, so be ready to play!

I was wanting to get it finished today but ended up doing a bunch of housework, ate a bunch of crap with habanero Tabasco sauce and a couple of beers and I'm not feeling so hot right now, so watching some Breaking Bad and going to sleep..

The dinging sound from the new version of MPOS is annoying the living crap out of me. Do you guys hear it too?

EDIT: Yes, tomorrow IS the day for the Octo casino launch. The grid game is coming down, though, doesn't look like any users have unclaimed balances but if you do, please withdraw! Tomorrow we go live and we still need a name! Remember, you can invest in the game as well as bet. My body is ready.
Edric, what about Crazy 888's ?

Yes indeed, thanks for the update.  I feel a bit shitty for losing patience lately now.  I'm probably just venting my frustration with FusionHash and their lack of support out on the wrong target.

Actually one of the things I like about you guys which made me sit up and take notice of Octocoin is that you always come across as extremely professional.  Updates (when they come) are always very considered and concise and you always keep your cool and never engage in flame wars or troll feeding. It's ironic that these exact qualities are what make you seem aloof sometimes.  I'm afraid I'm a contradictory fellow.

Hahahahaha this is so funny to me because I feel the same way. I've been watching your post and had basically taken your side, then the Devs posted and I also felt like a jerk.
