Yessir.
Also, if you have something Octocoin related you think we should post, please let Joshycoin or I know. You can post here or PM us.

If you notice we used GWCalvert's banner. We also posted the link to his banners and his Octo address. Please be sure to tip him guys.

The first things I can think of is adding Edric's new Casino when it launches. We did not list his old game since he said he may take it down. The second thing is fatguy's weekly updates. Please send us your Octo address in a PM and we will discuss how we can get all the old  weekly updates or at least set up to accept the new ones.

If you have something coming up guys let us know.

Happy 3 day weekend Octo-brethren. Just wanted to take a second and let every know that frameLAlife and myself have officially launched our crypto-currency consulting business. Check it at out www.ptcrypto.com and make sure you look at our featured coin page Wink
It is still under construction btw

Congrats guys!

Best of luck to you both in what should pan out to be a fun and rewarding experience for you both. Nice website you've put together, it still needs a bit of refinement but is overall professional in appearance Smiley

If you guys need help with anything let me know, I do have free time to spare.

Thanks man!

We'll definitely be trying to integrate some of the awesome Octo community members here. We will have  to set down and discuss with the Devs as far as some of our plans and make sure the Devs are ok with them, since this is their baby.

As for you, we have really enjoyed your weekly updates and they have been a great part of the community. We were discussing RSS feed of your updates into the Octocoin page on our website.

We also are discussing the possibility of some 888/Octo shirts (depending on the blessing of the Devs). We had planned on holding a contest on this board, the Reddit, the FB and the Twitter accounts to try to get more visibility and the winners would get a 888/Octo t shirt. Then a small size run would be posted for sale on our webpage for BTC and 888 payments only. It would be great if one of the cloud apps the devs are releasing is a payment processor for 888. Fingers crossed on that.

We have big plans for our community locally as far as trying to get businesses interested in BTC and crypto. Since we are heavily invested and excited about the Devs apps for 888 we wanted to be sure that we promoted this coin even locally.

We are on the eve of our local news story that is a 3 minute piece and they have linked our website to their news page. We both work full time for an IT company that does IT for local government, medical and river transportation companies so we are both extremely busy with our full time jobs. Cryptocurrency and mining has taken up most of our free time recently and we really hope that by next year this business will grow into something full time.

We also hope that as Octo grows and we see what the Devs have in store for our community here that we are able to integrate it into what we are doing locally. We will soon see.

We are focusing on some individual and business needs but we also want to incorporate charity and sponsoships into our business locally. We know the Devs hinted at crowd funding apps and we are hoping we can use Octo in this manner even over BTC. If we can help communities the way Doge does I think it will help Octo grow in value which is good for all here who are invested. We will def keep an eye one what the Devs release and see if we can use their apps for the charity and sponsorships.

We really are excited about the sponsorship aspect. We of course want to grow our business with some sponsorships of local athletes where we live. But we also noticed that there aren't too many cryptocurrencies that do this well besides Doge. With the unique logo of 888/Octo and the Octopuss and the Don't Blink catchphrase we see that being a popular logo for most sponsorships.

I have a really good friend that I do jiu jitsu with and he has done well locally and across the south and midwest in tournaments. He is starting to compete nationally and is doing really well. He's a clean cut, well spoken, young dude and we want to help him with costs of traveling, hotel and food costs, fees to enter the competitions, etc. The cool thing about jiu jitsu is whether he's wearing a gi and belt or whether he's in board shorts and a rash guard, there's plenty of places to put your logos and websites on the clothing and a good opportunity for them to pass out information to other competitors, business sponsors and families looking to fund the cost of their athletes traveling all over the nation. We hope that whatever the Devs have in store that we can help get started with this one athlete and maybe grow it into more athletes for many different sports. The state of the economy has hurt a lot of local and school teams when it comes to gear and travel and i see opportunity coins like this to help fill a need and promote their business apps at the same time. All this of course depends on exactly what the Devs release and what direction this community takes. I do, however, look at this community and feel there's something different here than a lot of coins. There are even a lot of good coins besides Doge that haven't done what Doge has done. That truly bugs me when you have a coin that on paper isn't worth much like Doge but the community finds ways to make it valuable. Then you have coins that are on paper and trading on exchanges at a higher value than Doge and in reality they aren't doing shit for their communities, both the coin community and their RL local communities.

If the devs do this crowd funding app right we may have something really special that sets us apart.

Other than that, just know that both Joshycoin and I really appreciate all the people on this board. We have had a great time chatting and getting to know some of you guys. We have both learned a lot from some of you guys. We had both already been involved in crypto and been trading and minging before we ran across Octo. But, when we saw the Octo logo and stats on FusionHash we both made a decision to try something different. We both decided to get behind a coin and get involved in the community. I had always checked about different coins on bitcointalk.org but I never really posted or got involved in the community aspect. I really just chose what I though looked good and could make me some money. When I switched from anoncoin to murraycoin to octocoin, I decided I was going to really put forth an effort to be active on the board, try to help people when I could and try to do anything I could to promote this coin. We really wanted to find a coin that wasn't just a pump n dump, and hopefully be a part of something that would turn into something big. It hasn't been an easy road and there have been a few coins that we have still mined here and there but we have always came back to Octo and tried to stay active here. I am glad we did and we will continue to support the Devs and you guys as we move forward with our own business. We plan on keeping Octo as our feature coin. We hope that there are some exciting things coming that will make it easy to get people here locally involved with Octo as well.

Well guys, as always, keep mining octo, keep voting on mintpal, vote on cryptsy if you haven't and don't blink!

so if i have a scrpt miner, then i can mine this coin??

Yes - this is a script coin. For a list of exchanges, check out https://octocoin.org/#exchanges. Bittrex has the most volume, though. Welcome to OctoCoin! Cool
cool thANX , i just heard about it today, anything else i should know?,what pool should i use--- is there a multipool that includes octocoin?

I'd stick with FusionHash or Fedaykin's (edric's pool).

agreed. screw the multipools. FH and Fedaykin have been great for the most part.

just a friendly reminder to not push through too many coins in one transaction, just for safety's sake. i could handle losing 10,000 coins in a stuck transaction, or an exchange dropping the ball, but i'd lose my shit if i lost 100,000. just sayin, happy trading guys.

and

KEEP VOTING!!!

Yea it's odd how long they are taking. I'm used to them showing up within minutes, and now it's 2 to 3 hours no matter how large my transactions are. Oh well. I'll just wait and see what happens. Thanks guys.

Yeh, I withdrew some from there today.  They used to transfer almost instantly, today they showed up as being released and confirmed on Bittrex but interestingly when I put the TxID in the official block explorer it just gave me a blank page.  A pool transaction from almost the exact same time showed up in the wallet almost instantly and its TxID displayed correctly in block explorer.  I was going to raise a support ticket at Bittrex but got distracted and when I checked back an hour or so later the coins showed up in my wallet.

I'm not that concerned yet, I don't think they've gone Cryptsy on us.

Yea I don't think anything fishy is going on. Just seems to be running slowly.
Checked again and mine finally showed up after 3 hours. Glad to know the coins are still coming through.

Nice.  Who just put up the 2.5BTC buy wall on Bittrex?

EDIT: Now that's a much better use of 2.5 BTC rather than buying Zimstake votes

 Wink

I can't stop buying 888!

Heh, thought that was you. Tongue

 Grin Grin Grin

I was looking over the market on Bittrex with my wife and she just gave me "the look" when she found out that was my order. She says we have a baby on the way and that we have to buy things for him and not more Octocoin. Roll Eyes I don't know where her priorities are  Tongue

On another note, is anyone else noticing withdrawals taking over an hour to show up in your wallet from Bittrex? They are completed on the wallet section of Bittrex immediately and I have confirmed the withdrawal email. It has been going on since yesterday, and I was hoping it wasn't just my imagination.

Not I, all my Octo are in cold storage for the time being. Only exchanges I use actively are Huobi and BTC-e as the only coin I actively trade in is BTC.

I haven't withdrawn any in the past couple days... Last I sent to my wallet were quick, probably on 5/20 or 21.

Volume has been up the past few days, so they might be having to move coins from a cold wallet, which could cause a bit of a delay, depending on how they are set up. Or they could just be delaying the withdrawals because of the increased volume.
