Yessir.
i don't think most of us here "hate" the devs at all. i think we would just like a little bit more transparency and updates. i have defended them continuously despite their shortcomings in interacting with the community here.

people do have a right to be nervous about where they invest their money when the devs never post updates and show no signs of their plans being developed. there are plenty of other coins and platforms out there that do this well and their community is happy and feel their money is invested in something safe that is making progress. that is all anyone here has asked for. they have failed to provide any of this.

however, in the past when there were major issues they would show up with some posts and they did fix the last Bittrex issue, at least temporarily until this last debacle.

i have too much invested here to leave nor do i want to leave if they can hash out and release what they promised.

my only concern is that at this point many other coins and Bitcoin 2.0 platforms are doing what they promised us to begin with. they are risking getting left in the dust.

even without all of that, now you have another Bittrex issue with all of our funds on the exchange locked and no response here or to Bittrex. if anything, it's unprofessional. at most, many here are probably concerned that their money could be permanently lost.

i  personally do not worry too much. other coins have had the community and new devs spearhead a project. worst case scenario with a community this strong and 180 pages deep into this forum it's always an option to find new devs and change the direction of our investment. i don't think this will be necessary but it's nice to know that the option is there if it was abandoned.

it wouldn't surprise me one bit when all hope is lost the devs will show up and post something and at least Bittrex will be back. never say never.

i just think this is the lowest point we have had since launch and people are concerned. but since there is no evidence of any dump it just doesn't make any sense why anyone would waste time with all of this.

also, it's concerning that bholzer has not been here since all of this. many of us probably felt like that if he was invested and at least had contact with the devs that even though we don't like the interaction level from devs, that we had some form of representation from him. now we don't see that. and in some ways i don't blame him. i doubt he has much time to be on here defending something that is not his project. but you can see the concern when even he is not here with any input or update.

i mean what else can you do at this point accept sit and wait?

I have a feeling that this community would rally behind good octocoin news, especially in the form of product releases like the ones the developers have repeatedly mentioned. I’m sure the developers know this.

At this point, why wouldn't the developer abandon OctoCoin? I wouldn't want to make money for people that hated me either...

Regardless, I have enough Bitcoin invested in Octo that I won't leave. I'll be supportive of the developers, because they are the ones working to make us money. I'll continue to solo mine at a loss, as a backup in case the pool goes down.

has anyone here ever been involved with a coin that was forked and the blockchain taken over from abandoned devs? just curious.

Yes, I know of three coins that have done this. Hyperstake which forked from Truckcoin (with devs approval but still forked), silkcoin, and firecoin. Silkcoin and firecoin were both abandoned by the devs and silkcoin was/is a community takeover and firecoin was taken over by another dev altogether. I am sure there are more, but I know these ones.

I don't think anyone has had any contact with the devs including Bittrex. And Bholzer hasn't logged on in quite some time. Who knows. Doesn't look good.

None of it makes any sense whatsoever.

I think it's pretty sad that the Dev or Devs won't even give a simple explanation of what is going on or anything!! That's just bad business in my opinion Sad Still doesn't make sense though with everything I've been reading so I don't even know what to say! Anyone hear anything recently?

You cant erase a premise like that anyway, it's not how it works. Doing so would invalidate all transactions based upon the source.

Did anyone (who is able to) read the code, was there a secret pre mine that we didn't know about???  I can't read code so can't tell

The code has forked since then and I'm not sure the old version is available?

AFAIK from looking at the code pre-fork there was no hidden pre-mine.  It was instamined pretty hard after launch but that is nothing new, it happens with all coins and its not always the DEV.

Besides, there has never been enough volume to allow anyone to dump and profit much.  It's just plain weird, none of it makes any sense and unless somebody on the inside speaks out 888 always has and always will be an enigma.

i agree. it makes no sense that we haven't seen a post from the devs like the last Bittrex issue. does anyone know if the devs for sure still haven't been in contact with Bittrex?

if anything it's still really poor management.

i would hate to think it would be delisted soon. and if so, why? i mean they were on it. i would think that maybe Bittrex could confirm who they talked with on the last Bittrex issue. i mean do they only receive emails from the [email protected] email? no name or number or skype at least? that wouldn't be very professional.

strange times in OctoWorld as usual.

I emailed Richie before my last post. He hadn't heard from them, and since then has added the Missing Dev tag so it's fair to assume they're ignoring him too.

"dev missing" hilarious.

yeah, octocoin purchased fusionhash.

fusionhash is buying tons of mining gear.

millions of lines of code.

parabolic flight launch.

las vegas in march.

acquisitions.

mergers.

when was a shred of evidence shown for any of this?

i'd love for someone to compile a list of every single piece of bullshit that has been told to us. bullshit being any form of information presented without anything to back it up.

no business would ever operate like that. even scamcoins post fake pictures. even scamcoins make up documentation. we didn't even get the scamcoin treatment

we received exactly NOTHING.

over and over and over again we got NOTHING.

we got scammed so fucking hard that they didn't even need to scam. they just said: "invest in octocoin, you'll be sorry if you don't" and people were clamboring over each other to buy this shit.

once there's blood in the water, and our money in other's hands, we stop all logic. the rational part of our brain turns off and we just HOPE, that's all we can do, it blots out everything else. we HOPE so hard that we attack other members because they're attempting to use logic. we HOPE away all common sense.

I'll say this, this is the last time i'm gambling in my life.

everyone is out to get you. everyone in crypto will lie, and cheat, and scam you. there is not one positive thing about this movement, it's just a bunch of scam artists with a veil of anonymity and a herd of cattle to prey from that gets refreshed every single day. there's no new money in crypto, wonder why? because of twats like octocoin, and every other scam artist out there that has robbed people blind and left them with nothing. wonder by bitcoin is tanking? because there's no redeeming quality. it's just an unregulated trading platform where people live off of stuff that's %100 illegal to do in any market regulated with common sense. it is the wild west. and you've all been robbed. no one will save you, there is no sherrif. you will be bled until you bleed out. anyone associated with octocoin is as much an accessory. fusionhash, bholzer, murraycoin. if they have anything to say for themselves now is the fucking time. but of course no one will talk, they're long gone. and so am I.

fuck crypto.

fuck octocoin.

i'm out.

just sent [email protected] an email

Hi,
I'm part of the octocoin community and the coin is broken and we have not been able to get hold of the devs, it came to our attention that recently they purchased you, can you confirm that is true or have we been scammed? If it is true can you please contact the devs on our behalf and let them know to check bitcointalk because there are major issues with the coin

Cheers

Does anyone know an email address for fusion hash? supposedly (according to bholzer) they were recently bought out by the dev/s, is the story the same on their side as in did they know they had been bought out? and if thats not true well we all know what that means

and if it is true, they may be able to contact the dev/s

maybe but i doubt it. the last Bittrex debacle for withdrawals the devs were immediately on this forum and working with Bittrex to resolve the issue. at this point it doesn't look to be the case.

as for moolah.io, i think that exchange never picked up traction and was shut down shortly after launch. in terms of relaton to Octo, i simply mean about the time that moolah's identity changes were becoming major news after the mintpal meltdown was a time where devs hadn't checked in here in a long time again and now they aren't showing up.

just a theory. probably not true and a timing coincidence. but definitely weird.

Doubt it, they removed octo fairly early on. All it's traffic was on bittrex so it did t meet their requirements.

Maybe that bittrex message will help.

http://blog.moolah.io/2014/03/17/prelude-and-the-future-of-moolah-please-read-somewhat-important-to-me/

could Moolah be involved? with all the hooplah over Mintpal and his identity coming to light it seems the timing matches up. devs are missing while all of this news is coming out? just a thought. probably nothing. he did push Octo on his exchange launch and wasn't that the only exchange that listed Octo/$Dollar pairing? i really cannot remember which early exchange that was but it seemed like it was moolah.io.
