Here is the problem. You want CHNCoin not CNCoin. CNCoin is totally different. It's some random Litecoin branch. Make sure to git clone https://github.com/CHNCoin/CHNCoin.git and not CNCoin.

We should all standardise on calling it CHNCoin to avoid such issues as these

Oh really, ffs, thanks man, I wasted hours on this before I posted!

Yeah I'm just trying to compile now.
I've had a chncoind working for a few days but I thought a nice pretty wallet was in order!

Whenever I try to start the QT wallet i get this in Ubuntu 13.04

./chncoin-qt: error while loading shared libraries: libminiupnpc.so.9: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Does anyone know how to fix it?

Don't compile-in the UPNP support, or install that version of libminiupnpc (but note different coins use different versions of miniUPNP; usually I just compile-out the support for it, like "make USE_UPNP= -f makefile.whatever").

I compile CNCoin-Qt for my Mac from the github source as I couldn't find any pre-compiled binaries, but when I run it no active connections can be found, and it's always out of sync.

The debug.log says it's joining IRC ok.

Need to clone it and give it a neutral name then Wink

I know you're joking, but it's not even that bad of an idea. If you release something on this forum people don't even look at what has been changed, they just start mining it to hoard as many coins as possible before it hits the exchanges. An exact clone with a different name would probably take off at the same pace Chinacoin and Feathercoin have.

That's only because the difficulty is only 8 right now. The average block time is 14 seconds. The next difficulty will be over 90. Also, faster transaction =/= more secure.

Yeah, I realize that it will slow down. It's still going to be incredibly quick compared to other coins though. It's just a pain transferring BTC somewhere and having to wait an hour before you can access it.

When this coin came out I started mining it hoping for the same result as Feathercoin. Quick money.

Over the last few days while I have been transferring funds around to different wallets I have noticed that this isn't just another clone. The transaction times are ridiculous. If this coin is going to succeed, it's not because the Chinese are going to buy into it. It's because it's actually useful for quick transactions.

With that said, I'm holding on to these for the foreseeable future.
