As the opposite of CryptoKitties, my bet is on dogs. Namely, Welsh Corgis, Dachshunds or even pugs - basically, breed that seem more suitable to accompany Imps in the mines.I think they should have some references to the media-culture. At least most items did.
If they`re going to be randomly generated or able to breed like Kitties, I doubt it will be possible to add pop-culture references.
Although, there might be some pre-generated legendary level pets that refer to media.
