Can you tell the launch date, at least approximately?

On last week's hangout, we showed posting and post-retrieval functionality in a live demo.
We'll open the app up for a first few users very soon.

thanks for the info and looking forward to the first app

4-8 months away for a very basic app.

From my understanding, they are planning on temporarily bootstrapping the AMP txs on Ethereum's blockchain and releasing a beta app in a month or so.

March 16, 2016 Synereo Community Hangout

This week, team Synereo talks about the preparation for the COALA Blockchain Workshop in NYC and the satelite reputation systems workshop led by Synereo following it.

Greg discusses improvements to GLoSEval as well as updates to old dependencies, allowing our community-led DevOps team to convert older dependancies running on VirtualBox into AMI and Docker images. With this, we welcome anyone to join in on DevOps merryment!

Ed Eykholt of LivelyGig, the decentralized marketplace for freelancers, introduces the philosophy behind “Dogfooding”, with Synereo using our own products for team communications and beyond.

Finally, Greg discusses his recent presentation to the Casper research group, taking a step further towards the creation of our new, scalable Proof of Stake blockchain.

Does anyone have some estimates as to the bottom of AMP? I know a lot are going to respond "this is the absolute bottom" but let's be realistic, the price will probably continue to drop until the next big announcement/road map is met.

That's right.  It's going down to 100 sats a piece, but since I'm such a nice guy, I'll take them off your hands for 101 sats an AMP.  What do you say?

Privacy is one of the most important things in our lives.

Yes, it definitely is.  Especially as it pertains to freedoms.

Synereo has several innovations that deal with that specifically.

Synereo is a very interesting project. I like the idea of Attention Economy Model.
How will you handle ETH and Bitcoin privacy issues? Will you consider using privacy protected blockchain with your project?
Please, check DigitalNote XDN project. http://digitalnote.org

P.S. We are working on Proof of activity.

Which privacy issues are you thinking of?

Synereo tech is blockchain agnostic.  We will use an existing one for the Beta, and then move to a better one.

BTC and ETH blockchains are not privacy protected.

Still not sure of what you are thinking of in particular.

Which info do you think should be public,

and which info do you think should remain private?

Do you think context matters?

With BTC anyone can view your wallet balance and  balance history and trace all your transactions.
With XDN your data is absolutely private until you want to share or show your keys.

If anyone can see your balance it can be used as a filter for your Attention Economy Model. I can see weak point here.

I think personal information should stay private if you want that.

I second that.

Privacy is one of the most important things in our lives.

Coin swaps shouldn't be difficult at all if you follow the guidelines I wrote about here:
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/transparent-crypto-coin-swap-guidelines-880220

The main thing is wallets should be forward compatible. Moving to something like Ethereum from Bitcoin would probably include the use of a smart contract where the bitcoin wallet could unlock the funds in a smart contract.

Swaps should be automatic and require no manual swapping by admins.

is there a amp swap?

Not yet.

If you want to discuss the idea of the XDN blockchain being used, you should jump into the next hangout, or on the slack channel.

As far as wallets, and people who want extra privacy, I suppose you'd just have multiple avatars, and wallets, and not give personal info there.

There is no fee for liking, etc - content itself is not going on the blockchain, but you could AMP a post you liked in order to boost it further.  However, normal post engagement does that as well, with an analogy of current or charge instead of AMPs.

There's also no way for 'filtering' of content streams - it's decentralized.
