Synereo recently hired the services of LivelyGig to help manage product development.  The current Statement Of Work is through July 15th.

Here's our update for product development.

Synereo Social product near-term schedule goals

By May 15th:

    User sign-up and sign-in
Implement UI for content stream and posts
    Self-deployment of decentralized nodes
Host a Synereo node on AWS

By June 15th:

    Simulated AMP wallet (stretch goal)
Announcement of a Synereo-hosted alpha website.

When will we be able to host our own Synereo node?

If you are sending make sure you have some BTC in that address to cover the sending fee.

Things to keep in mind:
...

The big news of the day is that Synereo was selected by NFX for an accelerator program that will help us bring in more investors, which will definitely help put more devs on the ground, and speed up the improvements that are being made.

O, It is really a big news.    Smiley

Synereo is a very interesting project. I like the idea of Attention Economy Model.
How will you handle ETH and Bitcoin privacy issues? Will you consider using privacy protected blockchain with your project?
Please, check DigitalNote XDN project. http://digitalnote.org

P.S. We are working on Proof of activity.

Which privacy issues are you thinking of?

Synereo tech is blockchain agnostic.  We will use an existing one for the Beta, and then move to a better one.

BTC and ETH blockchains are not privacy protected.

Still not sure of what you are thinking of in particular.

Which info do you think should be public,

and which info do you think should remain private?

Do you think context matters?

With BTC anyone can view your wallet balance and  balance history and trace all your transactions.
With XDN your data is absolutely private until you want to share or show your keys.

If anyone can see your balance it can be used as a filter for your Attention Economy Model. I can see weak point here.

I think personal information should stay private if you want that.

XDN is a good blockchain. Privacy is an important issue. The biggest problem of all is going to be transaction fees. If millions of people start doing 100 little things a day such as liking a photo, the fees will be too much. They need their own blockchain with $AMP as the main blockchain coin.

XDN blockchain is Very scalable and actually there are no limits there. XDN has no blockchain dust due to block rewards structure, so blockchain is very lightweight.
ASIC resistance and few blockchain features, like encrypted messages and blockchain banking deposits.
After PoA release we will look further to smart contracts.
But why fee for liking photo?

Things to keep in mind:

Slack is not the best place for finding updates (unless you are there for hours everyday).
Use it for chatting, meeting Synereo supporters, etc.

The best updates are posted on the blog (http://blog.synereo.com/), and of course,
in the weekly hangouts themselves.

Persistent info also can be found at https://discuss.synereo.com/.

There still is no firm date set yet, and there will not be for a while.
"Weeks" is still the best answer, because if it stretches out to many weeks, then that is still only a couple months.
We have pushed the release back a little longer.

The reason is that the starting point is being "bootstrapped", meaning being put together on the fly.
If the community or the devs think they can add another feature that will improve the network, they're going
to do that.  There are bugs found when new software is brought online, and must be fixed.  This is a process
that moves along in an emergent way, and defies prediction.

There is discussion going on about which blockchain will be used in the Beta version - this is nothing new either, it's just time to get that resolved.

The big news of the day is that Synereo was selected by NFX for an accelerator program that will help us bring in more investors, which will definitely help put more devs on the ground, and speed up the improvements that are being made.

Coin swaps shouldn't be difficult at all if you follow the guidelines I wrote about here:
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/transparent-crypto-coin-swap-guidelines-880220

The main thing is wallets should be forward compatible. Moving to something like Ethereum from Bitcoin would probably include the use of a smart contract where the bitcoin wallet could unlock the funds in a smart contract.

Swaps should be automatic and require no manual swapping by admins.

When BETA SYNEREO ?
It was to be a few weeks, but I see that it's been a month.

You need to join slack for updates and watch hangouts.

There are no updates in slack either. Bitcointalk has more info about synereo than slack.

In the last hang out they said Synereo would be released on Ethereum 2.0 in 4 months at the earliest. 8 months is probably a better estimate.

My only thought is using either Omni or Ethereum if there was a way to delay AMP txs until accounts had accrued a minimum threshold balance, you could delay sending the AMP tx thus reducing fees, but so far, I fail to see how such a system could be implemented.

I think there could be a simple smart-contract triggered with the tx, set to pay, for example, every Friday.

That's actually a really smart idea.

Regarding Dor's comment in the last Hangout session about AMP holders not selling, the fact is that unless you have to sell your AMPs, because you need the money, imo you'd have to be woefully misinformed to sell your AMPs, because of the potential this project has to revolutionize the fundamental level in which people connect and the role AMPs will play in this system.

I think this project has the most potential out of any other blockchain project to date.  This is a real winner imo.

Regarding the blockchain question the Synereo devs have posed to the community, I think Synereo AMPs should remain on the Omni protocol until the Casper blockchain is complete.  Switching over to Ethereum's blockchain will require two coin swaps which is time consuming and confusing to novices.  Delaying the release of the Beta is a terrible idea and shouldn't even be an option.  My only thought is using either Omni or Ethereum if there was a way to delay AMP txs until accounts had accrued a minimum threshold balance, you could delay sending the AMP tx thus reducing fees, but so far, I fail to see how such a system could be implemented.
