I wouldn't advise spending 0.5btc on votes ( you would probably get more votes by advertising than by directly paying for them )
I see what you mean and I kind of agree that it could be better spend btcs elswhere. When I get hold of the bigger part of my funds I would however want to donate some for the progress of adt! support projects and further on.
