The fact of being done in PHP characterizes Aronium as a new fact and of easy adoption, including, people can participate in the programming world and understand that Aronium would be a real motivation, since mining by CPU guarantees some coins, besides being able to be used as currency! I hope there are more applications for ARO and with that, its value will be higher. Smiley

What exactly does it being done in PHP mean?  I'm kinda confused about what's difference between this project and other currencies that exist?  If you are able to enlighten me, that would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

The reference was to the miner software that is used, we have 3 different miners, PHP, Python and Java, all of which have source code available on the Github. Generally speaking keeping things open and not packaged in locked executable files means even more transparency from our side. We realise that other miners available also have code to look through but simplicity and effectiveness are key to transparency too.

If you would like more information on the programming side of things, as this is not my area, feel free to join our discord and talk to our community - https://arionum.info/discord/

ahh i see.  Thanks a lot for the response mate, I took your advice and joined your discord, hopefully you'll be kind enough to answer some of my questions in there as well!  I dig deep sometimes, lol.

Of course, anytime Smiley

Very interesting Arionum coin, i like the transparency and especially no premine, i hope, this new cryptocurrency can compete and show positive results, i think it will be good if you plan gpu mining in the future, i wiill keep an eye on this.

The whole concept of mining ARO was to be CPU only and whilst guli did some really excellent work developing a GPU miner we decided to hold a vote between the ARO mining community and what they essentially wanted.

It was pretty unanimous that GPU mining was not wanted and this also reinforced our original concept that ARO would only be a CPU only mine-able coin. As such a hard fork took place at block 10800 and updated algo's meant that ARO is now GPU resistant. You can still use a GPU using guli's miner, however you are likely to get less hashing power than an average CPU. ( A recent test carried out using several different models of Nvidia card, namely GTX 1050, 1070 and 1080Ti confirmed that hashes per second were less than 1.5 in all cases).

I hope this clears up any confusion.

Thanks for all.
All is ok now.
Just last question..
It's better pool or solo mining?

Due to the difficulty now and a number of high h/s miners, solo mining probably isn't a viable option. All being said, consideration has to be taken into account that you won't be running multi GPU setups and cost/wattage is negligable.

Also with ARO's block reward system, mining in the pool can earn you 390 ARO if you actually "win" the block. (Originally starting at 400 ARO block reward, this decreases after every 10800 blocks solved, it is currently at 390.)

While not impossible to solo mine (after all, a 1 .5 h/s miner hit a block pool mining) it is probably more beneficial in the long run to pool mine.

I would advise though if you are considering solo mining, there is a guide for setting up your own node over on the ARO forum - https://forum.arionum.com/

Good luck Smiley

nice to hear.

Like other mining projects it depends on your hash rate and what you want to pretend.

if you are a small miner try pool mining

Whole point is that its a CPU only coin so they are not planning GPU mining

The statistics are really not comfortable on the pool.
It would be nice if you do not have to enter the key number every time. Some kind of personal cabinet or something like that

Guys,

For a second day in a row, my miner (not the java one), is working, there is hash rate and min DL displayed.
However in pool when I search for my address, nothing is shown neither is current shares, nor in historic, nor in payments. This started yesterday.
Help.

Feel free to jump into Discord or post your ARO address here. Unless your hash rate is really low, there shouldn't be a problem with finding your address under historic shares.

is it possible to share the entire usb key with Linux and all programs (git, maven, ....) installed and set. in exchange, for example, 3 days of mining on the account of the person who shares this content? it may interest other people and may be profitable.

Same for me. I gave up in the end.

It seems it is only you and me in such a situation. It continues for a third day in a row here Sad

Hello,
Just a question.
When you install a program (like git, maven or other) on Linux live usb.
The program is installed on the hdd or on the usb device?
Thanks

It is installed on your USB as the OS is on the USB drive.

good projects!but when can mine with windows system?
now have many using windows and hope can mine in windows as soon as.

I am using on windows and everything works very well, however linux gives better hashrate for same processors.
may be we see improved performance with next version

Unfortunately because of the way Windows handles memory, there will nearly always be a performance drop versus Linux. Obviously when new miners are developed, the best possible performance is squeezed out of them and when ProgrammerDan, our resident master coder is happy, a newer version will be released, if there is one currently being coded/tested.

ok i' ll search because i already blocked at the java miner instalation (maven)
if you have tuto or other, i take it Smiley
sorry for my bad english, i m from belgium

This is all you need for Linux to get the Java miner working -

sudo apt-get update

sudo apt-get install -y openjdk-8-jdk maven git make gcc

git clone git://github.com/ProgrammerDan/arionum-java

cd arionum-java/arionum-miner

mvn clean package

chmod +x build-argon.sh

./build-argon.sh

./run.sh

Hope this helps

If you get any compile errors, you may find that adding "sudo apt-get install build essentials" fixes them.

Hi all,

Wondering if someone can answer / clarify something regarding a Public_key.  When my wallet was first created, I received the address, public and private keys.  This is all good, however, when I look up my wallet address on arionum.info, the Public_key is reported as blank / missing.  I see that other addresses have this value populated.  Is this something I should worry about?

Thanks very much.

Please disregard this question.  The Public_key value gets populated after sending a bit of Arionum out of the wallet.

Glad you found out and posted, I was wondering this as well.
