looks like their upgrade has killed the site ....
storage issues
if you have a running session with them you can see the site.
If you clear cookies and or history it cant be seen
The storage is ful so cant make a temp session

i have heavily invested in UTC and would like to start mining. I only have a laptop with CORE i7 so i think i cant mine scrypt jane on this - is this correct?

did the kh/s rate go down because of N Diff ??
My has rate is like half since today...

Yes, Nfactor went up, so Hash rate went down, appx by half. of course the entire network drops as does difficulty; so coins per day about the same.
Whatever you guys do, make sure you check your miners. I noticed that all of my rigs were giving me HW errors after this event. Prior to, they were up for nearly 2 weeks without any. Just make sure you are all okay. Hopefully this can be resolved soon!
Also pool hashrate is strange low now.. ??

yep: intensity helps! gone from I 13 to I 12 : No hardware errors so far. Running 1100, 1500 with that and am getting 300k on R9 280X
lower intensity setting
Or raise TC - that way you can usually keep a better hashrate

If your miner is working just restart it, if it's not look at new settings people are posting on the UTC thread. I will come back with more information for you as it becomes available.
