So is the fork just about getting control of the coin again? Having to pay in btc doesn't sound like he is committed. Before investing any money I'd suggest workshop a plan.

To anyone that is interested I have found a dev that is willing to take the job we came to a compromise he wants to be paid in BTC but has agreed to escrow  so if you guys are ready to get serious about this please let me know so we can make it happen ASAP

Not that I really know of but I haven't really looked either anyone interested in this let me know so we can get the ball rolling on this what we need right now that I know of is:
1. Community support
2. A Coin dev (that's willing to work for ASC)
3. A Web dev (also that's willing to work for ASC)
4. More community support
5. A media blitz

I know there was some excitement about this at first I don't have the expertise to do it I say we get a trusted dev that's willing to do the work for ASC so that he is vested in ASC and willing to help it succeed and then we use a trusted escrow to hold the ASC we all put up to pay the dev with he only gets paid AFTER the fork is done and successful also and most importantly we need to come up with some viable uses for ASC maybe use it as trade vouchers for ASIC rentals like setup something like beta rigs but payments only to be made in ASC that would create a demand and therefore increase the value of ASC

I like how you are thinking there mate! Any other forums have open/active threads about ASC? I have not looked much but will be soon as I am expanding my farm and like to mine different coins. I will browse around and see what I can dig up as far as current ASC mining and/or wallet dev info and post up my findings soon..

So any updates on this? I've seen a few people post up in the services section they have coin development skills for hire maybe the ASIC Coin community should come together and hire them just a thought unless one of you is working on a hard fork already then disregard that suggestion Lol

CRYPTOCURRENCY "THE ALT-ERNATIVE" REFERENCE BOOK

I have written the two preliminary pages for ASICcoin ASC.  I need help from the ASICcoin Community in order fully complete it.  I want important points included.  Any further suggestions are welcome.  Please consider donating towards the future publication of the book.  I expect it to be published in the summer.

Is this step required for basic wallet setup or just for use with solo mining?

Thanks!

Agreed, but is ASC still only on coinex? If so that's pretty much a closed loop. Coins aren't going in and coins aren't coming out.
coinex got issues so it's not a safe place for asc coins. use cryptsy  Wink

It seems this coin was starting to take off again, but then not sure what happened to the enthusiasm. It definitely, needs a DEV and a hard fork to take control of the source code again. I'd also suggest a name change because ASIC isn't really relevant except to this small community, but first you need a real purpose for this coin. Time to put those thinking caps on.

Ideal time is now whilst there isn't much interest in the coin. Obviously there is still plenty of mining going on and 675 million is certainly a reasonable number to work with.

so does anyone know what is going on with this coin? it seems to be hung up, I have used two different pools over the past four days and neither of them are paying out, they both seem to be stuck on blocks (different blocks for each pool) I have been supporting this coin for about a month now by mining and trading but like I said about four days ago it just seemed to get hung up and now I am just accumulating large amounts of shares with no block being solved if anyone has any info please let me know
